Chess Tournament 2025- Black Crowes and Nick Vermeil co-champions! (2 Viewers)

BlackCrowes and Woz agreed to a draw. Pretty much even going into an end game. And, I got some whisky to drink and birdies to make. Barring a blunder it’s a likely draw and I don’t trust not sober me to not do that. I didn’t want to then play super aggressive and sac to get a pawn break and lose the tournament t for Nick.

Congrats to Nick and BlackCrowes.

Congrats to Nick and BlackCrowes.
BlackCrowes beat me fairly handily, so….

Chaz McNulty beat Captain Cranks.
He was the superior player and was up a pawn and had a good attack going. Then he hung his knight. I just had to make solid moves the rest of the way.

Sand beats Murph. 0-1
Good game barring one blunder. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

On a general note - thanks Tim for putting this on. Great fun. I'm kind of stunned I ended up with 4 pts. here, only losing to Zow and BlackCrowes (who are both worlds better than me). The game with @Juxtatarot will stick with me for a while. Devilishly difficult position we ended up in and I can't remember thinking harder about a game.

Juxtatarot defeats NYSFL in a long, drawn out defensive battle which eventually came down to me not being able to attack anything because of his two ********ed knights protecting everything.

I feel like some aren't taking my game with AABatteries with the seriousness it deserves. A 7th place tie hangs in the balance here, people.
I feel like my inability to count to 8 here does better at explaining my 8th place finish in this tournament than words ever could.
