***Chicago Bears Thread*** Ben Johnson hired. The Resurrection Begins! (10 Viewers)

Adjusted with the salary cap, it's still not close.
Regardless of any of that crap, it doesn't matter.  They thought it might work out and it didn't.  Like I said before, it's happened in the NFL plenty of times before and it will happen more.  It's hard to determine whether a QB is worth a crap or not.

After kicking importance was shown again, worth noting: 49ers K Robbie Gould has made 28 straight FGs, longest active streak in the NFL.

Bears stick with Barth, though.  Meanwhile, rookie kickers are performing well around the league. Smh

I noticed that he seemed to like Thompson as well.

Thompson didn't look as good with Glennon in the game against the Packers. I have kind of had my eye on Thompson because of the connection I saw with him and Mitch in preseason.

Still think Wright is the best bet if you have to start a Bears receiver though.
Until Gentry gets called up, because we all know more WRs will get injured.

Willie Young to IR at @fboutsiders' Adjusted Games Lost stat. No team lost more starts to injury in '15 & '16 than #Bears.

Grabbed him super late in our Dynasty Rookie Draft. I will never let down how low everyone had Cam Newton ranked his Rookie Season. If a guy goes as early as this guy, you gotta get him on your team especially if the price is dirt cheap.

Unless Trubisky turns in to a franchise QB the Bears made a big mistake spending a high draft pick, and a lot of draft capital on Trubisky.  They could have rolled with Glennon and next season taken a QB out of a much better draft class. Chances are they will have a top five draft pick in the 2018 draft.  Or they could have grabbed one of the free agents. There are some very good free agents, Brees, Bradford, Garappolo, Bridgewater, Cousins, and I think McCarron is available. A lot of good options in free agency, and a better draft class. If Trubisky turns in to a franchise QB it won't matter. But if he doesn't, the Bears have set themselves back for a good five years.
Hot take.

You are living in fantasy world. The Bears are one of the worst five teams in the league. They'll be lucky to win 5 games for the season. This is a really bad football team. Trubisky isn't going to make much difference at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up 3-13. Fox should have already been fired.
Which fantasy world? 2 dropped passes at the end of the game or we'd be coming out of the first 4 games at 2-2 with wins against Atlanta and Pittsburgh. And that's with Terrible qb play.  Think that through. Yet, you keep saying how terrible the team is and how they won't win 5 games. On what basis? What your saying doesn't line up with anything that's happening.

At least we're not the Browns. Committed to their rookie at the beginning. Already benched him not they have any hope of winning any games this season anyway. Team is so dumb.

Yeah, it really pisses me off how Fox and Pace keep breaking bones/tearing muscles.
Giants following the Bears game plan. If the Bears have someone on waivers that they want, they should grab him now. Also concerned that Gentry might get sniped.

The Browns started their rookie before he was ready. Kizer was arguable less ready to start than Trubisky. They made a mistake. They are accumulating talent. I'd rather have the Browns situation than the Bears. The Browns are loaded with picks, and have a lot of young talent. They will see what Kizer does the rest of the year, but they could easily draft another QB with the first pick in this next draft. I think the Browns will be a playoff team before the Bears will.

The Bears did play tough against a good Falcon team. They got crushed by the Bucs and got crushed by the Packers. They did beat the Steelers, but it turns out the Steelers are really bad.

How do I judge that the Bears are bad? I don't know, simple stats. Right now the Bears are averaging 15.3 points per game. Three teams have been averaging less, Baltimore, the Giants, and Miami. Even the Browns are averaging more points per game than the Bears. The Bears are allowing 26 points per game. There are five teams allowing more. The Bears have only three takeaways on defense and no interceptions.

I hope that you are right and I am wrong. I hope the team comes together around Trubisky and things turn around. But I am not optimistic about that happening. It looks like a poorly coached team without a lot of talent.

OK, just wanted to stop in and say I did 2 things in the past couple of days.

A - Dropped Tyrell Williams as a WR3, (in my biggest $$$ league) and snagged  KENDALL WRIGHT and slotted him in, in what turns out to be a close matchup, that I should win. Not that anyone here cares about that part, but...........

B - I ALSO went back and watched as much tape as I could of Mitch Trubisky.  I love it.  He has a sort of an unorthodox "fling it" type motion.

I love watching those guys play, sort of "Bortles-esque". (Don't throw tomatoes at me)    :D

Watching all that tape, is what made me decide to roll out Wright. I am liking the looks of this.

I'm just hoping we get a bonafide startable fantasy WR out of this scenario. I know it may be Thompson, but I am leaning towards Wright, at least at first.

I'm kinda liking the way this is shaping up.  Finally a Bears team that may actually be fun to watch here and there~!

I think the Bears fans in here have reason to get a little excited for a change.

 TZM

As a Packer fan I am very interested in watching this game.  This will be a view into the next couple of years, at least, and maybe into the next 15 years.

Imagine, since H.S. his 14th start will be against the Vikings on Monday Night Football.

I was considering trying to make up my weekend Vegas losses by going Vikings and under.

excited to watch, but have no faith yet.
I chickened out. Went the same. I'm a little worried about the under with the Bears d being so beat up.Vikings could score 41 by themselves.

Looks like Bears are opening as a 7 point dog to Ravens next week.

Let's hope this is the start of something different. Bears are once again last in turnover differential and have no interceptions through 4 games.  16 million spent on Amukamara, Demps, and Cooper

Yup.  Whitehair with the early footshooting.  Bad drop by Sims put us in a bad spot.  All Trub's throws have been spot-on.
