I dropped my kicker for him. I have a week to see where he lands and cut him or another player before picking my kicker off the scrap heap. Greg the leg (Rams), Novak (SD) and Janikowski will be there next week.
No IR in this league. I'd have to drop him outright.Jay has broken ribs. Could you IR him and pick up Michael? Was dropped in one of my dynasty leagues. Would any of you drop Hillman or Ajayi for Michael?
I agree that's a poor decision. Couldn't you have dropped your kicker? Duke Johnson at least seems to have some of the trust of the Cleveland brass. He seems to have a solid future. I think the ceiling for Michael is also as a committee back. Guessing Duke is going to be snapped up in your league. You could be right, but I doubt it. I just don't see great fantasy upside with Duke. Probably end up being a good third down back, or part of a committee on a bad team. Even if Michael doesn't pan out, I doubt I'll ever regret letting Duke Johnson go.Wow, really poor decision I think. D Johnson has a solid future. C Michael, you're throwing a dart, blindfolded.I dropped Duke Johnson for him. I know some will scoff, but I see DJ's upside as a good 3rd down back and part of a committee on a bad offense, with Crow getting goal line work. Plus he's already been hurt twice. Just doesn't excite me.
If Christine Michael ends up in Dallas, in time I could see him being a fantasy RB1. Worth the low risk gamble. Can't win the lottery if you don't play.
Rawls didn't play ahead of Michael in any of the preseason games that I'm aware of and Carroll seemed to dismiss the idea that he was pushing Michael within the last two weeks. I linked that quote higher up on this page if you want to see it. Anything can happen, but as of right now there's not much tangible evidence that Rawls is ahead of Michael on the depth chart. It's a speculative position that I think plays to the tendency that some people have to read every tea leaf as a negative for CM (like when they said Jackson meant his end on the team when it turned out to be Turbin who was cut). So, The Seattle brain trust doesn't trust C Michael this year to be the #2? but NEXT YEAR after F Jackson is done
he gets a shot. FOUR YEARS to "learn" his position? He's real talented but just doesn't understand all the aspects
of the pro game.
EBF, I like your take on players but you have to let this one go. Rawls is the "less talented" young guy that will see the field
if Lynch/Jackson get injured. Right now Rawls might not be any better then C Michael in pass pro but give him less then
a season to learn it and he is the #2. Trust is worth more to P Carroll then talent.
Duke Johnson is going to be more FF relevant then C Michael this year and next year and the year after. That might not
take much to do. Say in the neighborhood of 550/6 rush and rec combined.
Agree for the most part. But sometimes a fresh start is all that is needed. Look what happened with journeyman Justin Forsett last year. I'm not saying he's going to be a world beater, but what will holding Michael for a week cost you? Your replaceable kicker?D Johnson IS a poor man's Ellington. Once your on the team your draft position becomes
moot. He is not/won't be the starter.
No team is going to trade for C Michael. Pick him up on waivers, yes. invest a draft pick?
No chance. Lots of underwear olympic guys with upside come draft day versus the guy
that couldn't get on the field.
If Pete Carroll's staff couldn't get C Micheal motivated? educated? after 3 years what would
Cleveland, JAX, Buf, etc, do with him? In 2016 It would be a Veteran(unproven) contract versus
a rookie contract.
did the exact same thing.I dropped Duke Johnson for him. I know some will scoff, but I see DJ's upside as a good 3rd down back and part of a committee on a bad offense, with Crow getting goal line work. Plus he's already been hurt twice. Just doesn't excite me.

We don't really know what his work ethic is like. I don't recall anything concrete about him being a bad teammate. If Pete Carroll's staff couldn't get C Micheal motivated?
Novak was just cut.I dropped my kicker for him. I have a week to see where he lands and cut him or another player before picking my kicker off the scrap heap. Greg the leg (Rams), Novak (SD) and Janikowski will be there next week.
He is perennially either a hold or buy until the day this thread is put to rest permanentlySo for those of us that made the add, where do we go from here? Seattle now has 4 RBs, are they still looking to trade Michael? If so, would that happen before the season starts? Wondering how long I need to hang onto him before dumping him back on the pile.
Don't forget about Rawls and Fred Jackson's shadow as well.Hold. Some as it ever was. I'm holding until he gets out from behind Lynch's shadow.
Like I said, I offered a second for him him to two different owners in two different leagues last week and was denied. These are also two of the strongest owners in those leagues, by my estimation. If you've been on this train from day one, there's not much sense in bailing now. Wait until he gets a shot with Seattle or changes teams. The Lynch owner approached me about a trade, we got it done but it wasn't for Michael.... He wanted Turbin from me (before the cut), and wanted nothing to do with Michael. His value is less than poop right now even to the Lynch owner.
Wow, that tweet is real.@AdamSchefter: Dallas trading for former Seattle RB Christine Michael, per league source. Michael returns to Texas, where he starred at Texas A & M.
And I've re-added him everywhere I had dropped him.@AdamSchefter: Dallas trading for former Seattle RB Christine Michael, per league source. Michael returns to Texas, where he starred at Texas A & M.
Probably until about 11:40am CST today. So for those of us that made the add, where do we go from here? Seattle now has 4 RBs, are they still looking to trade Michael? If so, would that happen before the season starts? Wondering how long I need to hang onto him before dumping him back on the pile.
Buddy, you're in the wrong place if you looking for an objective answer to that particular question.Do you like him better than Fred Jackson if you still own Lynch?
The only thing that's certain now is that Dal is a mess for FF RBs. No telling how any of this plays out. I'd imagin that CM comes in at 3rd on the chart. It could be a moving puzzle all year, though. What are realistic expectations in Dallas now? Surely Michael won't come in as the starter for week 1. If not, then he has to outshine Randle and McFadden in a reserve role and/or see one or both of them go down to injury to get a shot at starting. Right?
ETA: And with Romo's age and past back problems, it seems that he will have to be able to pass protect in order to stay on the field in passing situations. Can he do that?
Was hoping he would've commanded a higher price, but I'm still excited.Albert Breer @AlbertBreer
And the seventh-rounder going to Seattle for Christine Michael is a conditional pick.
Good point. I've held him as Lynch's back up for years convincing myself it was worth it. Not making the team over Jackson or Turbin gives me pauseBuddy, you're in the wrong place if you looking for an objective answer to that particular question.Do you like him better than Fred Jackson if you still own Lynch?
He's got a legitimate opportunity to win work here behind a premium OL for a RB to run behind, that's a must add IMO. I don't know to be honest on a forecast, and I wouldn't forecast him to just walk in and be the Dallas RB1. Doesn't mean he and Randle don't share time, or if Randle doesn't impress immediately Michael gets his shot to win the starter role. An injury to Randle and you might win your season owning Michael if the hype is real behind this O-Line with volume. Basically a mess, but this is the cheaper quantity in the equation whose value is shooting up as I type, and I'm trying to add anywhere and everywhere based on the upside. What are realistic expectations in Dallas now?
