Cleveland Browns (8 Viewers)

I think we're going to see some gems like this in the near future.  Feel free to share, not for the humor, but for the reality.

I can tell you I know a Browns player who directly compared Hue Jackson to Michael Scott

Maybe when Todd found out he wasn't getting the full interim reigns he got bent out of shape about it?  Could be the main reason he came here.  We all speculated it.

Congrats Browns fans!  Hue was a must go.  And, I can see Haley being fired too.  The O has talent but always felt out-of-sorts.  It was not working so why not go in a different direction?

I was getting ready to buy low on Njoku but now that the OC is fired I don’t know the outlook of this offense.  Someone tell me what to think.

Yesterday the team ran 19 offensive plays between the middle of the 2nd quarter and the final 2 minutes of garbage time.  I've said it can't get worse before and been wrong before, but what is possibly worse than that? and is that possible without Nathan Peterman as my quarterback?

Jesus almighty, this is insane
Why is that oh master of the hyperbole? They both sucked and were sucking the life out of the team and tainting the promising rookies you brought in this year. You have the beginnings of a solid core of players, let's not cover them in the stench of 2-3 win season because your coaching staff can't sit at the adult table together.

But I find it curious that the moves were 3 hours apart and not all at once, so I wonder if there's more to the story.  Probably not, but it's certainly possible.
I'm guessing it was only because they wanted to keep Hue and Haley separated.  These two firings show you whose in charge of this team now....John Dorsey.  By letting go of both Hue and Haley, Dorsey has said he's sick of the infighting and middle-school **** measuring contest between the coaches.  Dorsey knows the most important piece to the Browns is Baker Mayfield, and he's not going to let a bunch of arrogant #######s tear this kid down.  You know the first stop on the media train would've been to Baker's doorstep once the news of Hue's firing and/or Haley's firing broke loose.  Baker would be put in the middle, and from all accounts on the Twitters, Baker wasn't too fond of one of them.

Glad it worked out this way.  I didn't think they'd fire both, so I went with the lesser of two evils.  But now I feel like it's going to get better.  Let Baker call his plays.  Find ways to make this team successful.  We have nothing left to play for this season other than pride.  Let the kid sling the ball around vs KC, then go into the bye-week with a plan on how to salvage the rest of the season.  Don't make the kid try to learn something new.  Let him go play his game.  I want to see the Annexation of Puerto Rico on Sunday!!  I want to see Baker say "Landry you're the stick and Ratley you're the bottle cap, and Duke just run around like that centipede.  Keep your eyes open cuz I'll throw it to one of you!"

It's a new day Browns faithful.  I was once down and out, but now I'm hopeful and optimistic.  Thank you John Dorsey.  Thank you.

Nothing wrong with swinging for the fences. The last thing you want to do is rehire a failed NFL coach. Failed at HC, OC or DC doesn't matter. Stay velar of recycled garbage. More times than not it is a recipe for mediocrity.  I'm sure the Jeff Fisher weasel is making calls but he's a known loser. Rarely will you ever get a Belicheck. Bring new blood, new ideas into the game.

100% agree.  I hear about the Iowa State guy too.  I'm sure we'll hear about others.

Rumors swirling of a Team Mtg at 2pm to discuss the leadership change.  Nothing in stone that Saunders will be the interim ("It's an Option").  A PC is slated for 4:30pm to announce future plans.

How great would it be if at the 4:30pm PC, Dorsey walks to the mic and informs the crowd that the biggest problem in CLE football has been released.

"As of 12noon today, the Cleveland Browns decided to part ways with Greg Joseph, PK.  He's had a troubled time here in CLE, and we wish him the best.  We will be brining in Phil Dawson to resume kicking duties as of tomorrow.  Oh, BTW, we told Hue and Haley to hit the road and not come back.  Thanks for coming out everyone!  Go Browns!"

:lmao:

I think the Riley-Baker connection is what everyone wants to see in the pros.  Damn I know I do.  Probably will be a fantastic failure but damn if I wouldnt watch the bulk of the games.

Ironically, the browns DID have Belicheck... Till art effed everything up.

And agree, no re-treads.  Maybe McDaniels if he's grown up since DEN.

If the Cowboys don't act quickly on Lincoln Riley, he could be in Cleveland by January. I'd love to see Riley with Mayfield in the NFL with all the talent on this roster.

It would be interesting to see Baker reunited with Riley but... jeesh way to early to try and pinpoint who the next HC is but it would be interesting.

why would any coach go to Dallas as long as JJ is still there?

Sweet!  A Pay for Play method to end the season!  Every TD is worth $1k.  If it's over 50yds, it's $1500.  You run for more than 100yds, that's $500.

Can't wait!
Pocket change......but knock the opposing QB out of the game:  1 Milllllion dollars!

Jimmy and Dee ring any bells?

We've got the media apologizing to our rookie QB explaining how this is not how things typically work with NFL organizations.

Baker Mayfield... it’s normally not like this in the NFL. Seriously, it’s not

We've got the QB and John Dorsey and a good defense.

Hopefully John hires his guy and I'd be fine with whoever he picks.

#### it, I don't care what happens now, let's have some fun. Blitz every down on D and chuck it long on O.

Oh and that's the death knell for Gregg Williams in CLE too.

Who actually reported Saunders?
Donovan did at first and then backtracked it....not too surprising. I'm sure MKC picked up the tweet and ran with it as well.

Whatever happens, the next two months are going to be fun!  It'a New Day in CLE!

Oh ya.  They're all gone, and I think they know it.  Time for Dorsey to take control.  Haslam's need to stand back and let Dorsey work.  Let him pick the HC and then help assess the rest of the coaching staff.  Let this be Dorsey's team.  Owners just sit back and watch, don't interfere.

We will all remember today as the day John Dorsey kicked down the door down in CLE and declared he's the HMFIC of the Browns.  Get out of his way and let him go!

Mort's character traits for the next Browns HC:

Next official head coach of @Browns in 2019 will need traits not only of putting a staff together that can further development of Baker Mayfield but all players; detailed leadership, toughness, measured temperance, consistent culture of discipline team has been lacking. #slowdown
Names are flying around like crazy.  I'd love to see a young innovative mind.  Whether that's Lincoln or Campbell or Taub or someone I haven't heard of yet, let's go for it.  I want someone who can tailor an offense with the talent that we have and not try to force the square pegs into round holes.  Let's get creative and have some fun!

I know Riley a little, what's with Campbell? First time I've heard his name, Iowa St. HC right?

Yep.  Matt Campbell is a name that's been thrown around, specifically for the Browns HC position.  He's an Ohio guy (Youngstown, I think), so you know they always get automatically associated with the Browns.  But he's a pretty innovative guy and is doing a lot of things with very little talent.  From what I've read, he's highly regarded by NFL scouts and some GMs, including Dorsey.  Just someone to keep an eye on.

Close....Massillon.  He went to Perry.  One of those kids who grew up in and around football.
