First Take got him good here. It’s funny how he loves to say HE hired Haley, but end of day he couldn’t fire him.
He would have been better off not going on TV today. Get that man a tall glass of water.

Well that is horribleIt's my understanding that the organizational structure isn't changing. That means the GM will remain alongside of the coach on the chart (ie. he does not have the power to choose a coach).
also not necessarily accurate.Well that is horrible
Such a complete loser.Huecifer (my favorite although MAC has been on a tear), the gift that keeps giving.
Hue Jackson partially blames Mayfield for firing
at Kurt Warner and Michael Irvin trying to defend Haley's incompetence. It took about 2 series to see that PITT was bringing the house and they needed to start dumping passes to the RBs. He didn't figure it out at all. That would be awesome. Maybe I can get more than 1 yard per catch out of Landry this week(Rotoworld) Browns OC Freddie Kitchens is expected to use more spread packages with Baker Mayfield. Analysis: The Browns fired Hue Jackson and ex-OC Todd Haley for not building their offense to Mayfield's strengths. Cleveland plans to incorporate some of the Air Raid schemes Mayfield ran at Oklahoma with their move to Kitchens, who comes from the passy-heavy Bruce Arians tree. Mayfield's ROS outlook is slightly up after the Browns' coaching shuffle. There's high-scoring potential in Mayfield's Week 9 matchup with the Chiefs.
Maybe they will call plays to the 1st down marker instead of 5 yards short on 3rd down. That would be awesome. Maybe I can get more than 1 yard per catch out of Landry this week![]()
nope, 3rd and 23, 5 yard pass.Maybe they will call plays to the 1st down marker instead of 5 yards short on 3rd down.

Finally...something worth reading from MKC...
The Haslams have officially put GM John Dorsey in charge of the Browns coaching search, source says

This is a step in the right direction, the fact that Haslam is willing to loosen the reigns for Dorsey and give him more responsibility. I am hoping this is a first step into what could be a new structure where the HC reports to the GM who reports to the Owner. A simple, yet stable structure that the Browns haven't had in forever. I'm sure Haslam will want to be part of the HC search and interview process, but glad to see Dorsey will have plenty of input into who will be brought in and how they will help nurture/build up Baker and this team.
Love to hear that, but it's MKC. Jimmah needs to let go, if not for anything more than his pathetic track record thus far. I will believe it when it happens. Then get on my knees and pray.Finally...something worth reading from MKC...

His wife is the normalizing force in his world and very well may have been the one to push him to let Dorsey go on his own.Love to hear that, but it's MKC. And his wife??? really? get her out of the room.

E.J. Gaines and C. Kirksey both put on IR. Done for the year.

Oh...forgot to add that Ward, Collins, and Schobert were back at practice! So that's good. Get Collins out of Schobert's role and let him go! Need Ward to get back on the field to help limit the ATL passing attack, if possible. It'll be another Run and Gun Sunday vs Atl!mr fancypants said:When it rains it pours.

It's crazy talk, but I like the meaning behind his story. If you're making a big time hiring decision, go big-time. Don't settle and take the safe route. Be willing to take the chance because you never know what will happen. I think Dorsey did that when he took Baker #1. I'd like him to do something similar with the HC. Take a chance and go for the overall best candidate - even if you don't think you have a chance at landing him. I have no idea who that is, but don't settle for the list of HC candidates the league produces each year. Go bigger!Let's say the Patriots win the SB this year. Word out of NE is that Belicheck has been butting heads with Brady and Kraft over the last year - which is why all of the backups were traded away, etc. If Bill wins yet again, and the rumblings are true, would he be willing to call it quits in NE? If he does, would he be willing to go to CLE to help it "rise from the ashes"? It would be fitting as he was unjustly removed by Modell when the team left for Baltimore. For him to come back to CLE and build it up into a perennial powerhouse would be an amazing feat! Not saying it would happen, but think about it. CLE would begin erecting statues for the greatest coach of all time!
Hard to say. He drops a lot of balls and Kitchens is passing to Duke more. Would be nice to see him more involvedHomers is TE David N worth a play today?
eff it I am rolling with himHard to say. He drops a lot of balls and Kitchens is passing to Duke more. Would be nice to see him more involved
Neither one should be allowed near an NFL team. They should be sitting on a couch with John Fox and Jeff Fisher.yep, this team looks so much better without Hue and Haley.
unlikely, but imo, they would have to take a hard look at the current staff if they were to go 4-2. they could always flush the staff next year if they don’t like the options that are available this year.Just a thought.
All of a sudden the Browns remaining schedule may not look so bad. Could a 4-2 record (Wins at Cincy twice, Balt. and Denver) down the stretch make them consider taking the interim title off Williams and keep Kitchens as OC?
BUT, CONTINUITY!!!Can’t remember the last win where I felt this good. Run William, run? All facets clicking today. Kitchens has been pretty much solid both games scheming and calling plays, quite refreshing after 2.5 yrs of garbage. Sure helps when your offensive tackles aren’t getting bulldozed every play though. A couple more wins like this and Dorsey’s job might get pretty easy as far as the HC search goes.
Agreed. I think 4-2 opens the conversation of keeping them around, but nothing short of a Playoff appearance would seal the deal to keep them in place for 2019, IMO. I don't see it happening, but if it did, I don't see how you turn Williams and Kitchens the door.unlikely, but imo, they would have to take a hard look at the current staff if they were to go 4-2. they could always flush the staff next year if they don’t like the options that are available this year.
#### draw for Williams but I guess you can spin as an audition. Rebuilding his career here would absolutely open some doors for him next year.Gregg Williams may be the right guy right now, but he's not the right guy beyond December 31. Then let whoever is brought in choose who to have around him.
It isn't that complicated. Two conflicting agendas were more concerned with whatever it took to get or retain power instead of just using what they had to the best of their ability. Rid yourself of the cancer then put people in place that will do just that - do what's best for the team.#### draw for Williams but I guess you can spin as an audition. I know there isn't a lot of support for the theory in here but it's hard to watch the team we've seen the last two weeks and not think that Haley was intentionally ####### Hue to get a shot at the HC position. We've all said it, install a system that works to your players strengths. I can't guarantee that's whats happening now but it sure looks like they are calling plays that highlight the best of what the players they have can bring to the table. You're going to be hard pressed to get me to believe otherwise about Haley right now.
Based on what I've seen the last two weeks, I'm going to have to change my predictions a little for the ROS. If Freddie keeps tailoring his offense to the skillsets of his playmakers (Baker, Chubb), and Gregg plays smart/attacking defense without running players into the ground, and if there are no major injuries (I know, I know...too many "If"s)...#### draw for Williams but I guess you can spin as an audition.
As @amnesiac wrote 2 weeks ago, the above is fun - I get it.Based on what I've seen the last two weeks, I'm going to have to change my predictions a little for the ROS. vs Chiefs - L (2-6-1)
vs Falcons -LW (3-6-1)
at Bengals - W (4-6-1)
at Texans -LW (5-6-1)
vs Panthers - L (5-7-1)
at Broncos - W (6-7-1)
vs Bengals -LW (7-7-1)
at Ravens - W (8-7-1)
Dare I say our first winning record in the last decade?! With this style of play, I think this team could go 4-2/5-1 over the last 6 games. They are raw, young, and hungry enough to keep teams guessing. I think they sweep the Bengals and finish off the Ravens. The Bronocs aren't too special offensively and holes in the defense can be exploited. Houston makes me a little nervous, but they are beatable as well. If this team can stand up to an offense like ATL and hold them in check, why not Houston and Denver as well?
I don't think this extends Williams' foray as a HC into next year, but it does open the question enough for Dorsey to really consider it.
I get ya...but I'm going to earmark this here to revisit after Hue gets hired on as Marvin's Assistant Coach. Then we'll see if your tune changes for at least the Cincy games. We may draw Cincy in a good spot. Let's start there - see what we can do on the road, a place we haven't won since China had a one-child policy.
