Colin Cowherd Reporting (2 Viewers)

If Cowherd wasn't leaving next week there is no way he would have been fired. He tried to make a point that didn't come off eloquently. Who cares? I understand what he was saying. It's silly to even wade into those waters given the climate these days. The whole thing such a non-story. A guy on the radio who gets paid to have provocative opinions worded something that crossed the line and he explained his thinking and apologized. He's not racist. Espn saw an opportunity to damage a future rival as well as a chance to purify their own brand. Everything image-based these days because of people twitter always looking to be offended so they can come off morally superior. Cowherd has to do the walk of shame for a few days and then we'll all move on to the next "crisis". Strange times.
Well said.

In fact, it's the single best post in this thread.
Only people who even noticed this story are hardcore sports' fans. To those people this story plays bad for ESPN. They just look petty and disloyal.

ESPN pinches pennies and let's talent walk. At the point now that it's obvious they comfortable serving cafeteria food. Bad business.
I thought the consensus was Cowherd was garbage?

He is. I'm glad he's gone. Espn looks foolish with how they handled this situation, though. As much as I can't stand the guy, I thought he came off looking pretty good with how he's handled leaving. Very classy and professional. Then ESPN does this nonsense. Bunch of idiots up top in this company.

Peter Principal.

For all you(I mean few)Cowherd fans he starts up on Fox Sports Radio September 8th from 12pm-3pm and I believe FS1 is broadcasting this as well.

Hearing that Dan Le Batard will be taking over the ESPN slot Cowturd was in.

Interesting that they are putting him up against Romey.

Good time slot, i hope the local station dumps the Rich Eisen show. He's a whiny little #####.

I listened to about 10 minutes of LeBatard and couldn't take anymore. He gives off too much of a "wacky morning DJ" vibe, which I might have thought was funny if I was 20 years old, but I'm not, so I don't.

If you've ever watched the TV show of LeBatard's that has his father and Bomani Jones, you know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

I can't stand his father and LeBatard sounds like he is yelling all the time.

I really have enjoyed the first two shows, a lot like it was on ESPN. Not on the radio yet here so I listened via I heart radio.

The station in Portland is dumping the Lebatard show after 3 days and re-instating Colin tomorrow morning.
Here is my impression of the Dan Leatard Show: "stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, the Dan Lebatard Show!, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz,The Dan Lebatard Show, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz,The Dan Lebatard Show, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, ststugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, ugotx, stugotz, stugotz,, stugotz, stugotz, ugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz, stugotx, stugotz, stugotz,

On FiOS, they do a icon picture for each show in the info section; when you do the new one for The Herd, it shows the same pic from his old show, with ESPN in the background. You'd think Fox Sports would have fixed that sooner.

That's funny. ESPN radio has changed a lot between Van Pelt getting off the air and Colin moving to Fox. After Mike and Mike, just a huge gap of nothingness

I listen to a lot of ESPN Radio during the day; I'm home alone, so I like to have 'noise' in the background. Russillo and Kanell is not bad. It's more P.O.O. sports radio than SVP & Russillo, but Kanell is pretty good, especially during football season. He is very willing to tell stories from his playing days, which can be interesting.

I am sort of forced to listen to ESPN, since most of the sports radio here in DC is always whining about something, this year either the Nats or 'Skins. And that sux. The only local show I listen to is Tony Kornheiser, I've been a fan of his forever (Wash Post column-writing days) , and I think he is hysterical. In fact his show isn't anywhere close to 100% sports, which is a good change from other shows. :2cents:

And this is why podcasts rule, so folks don't have to listen to drivel like CC and everything non-SVP related on ESPN.

Dude, DC Sports talk is probably the worst in the entire country. I gave it up a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier.

Yup, all but Tony. That is why I listen to/watch national stuff like ESPN and Dan Patrick.

I think he interviewed Troy Aikman today and it was just uncomfortable. Terrible radio. My only beef with Colin is that he starts at 9am and not 8am so I won't get to hear him in the mornings.

Here was his opening monologue on FOX Sports. I had to record it just for the sideshow factor.
I'm not a huge Cowherd fan but as a 50 year old guy that stopped chasing dreams awhile ago, I have to hand it to him; his opening had me a little inspired.

"Yes, I'm monkeying with my hair, who cares,.... It's mine".

That's funny and honest.

Firing up a Kickstarter to buy him some of that hair in a spray can. I thought it was schtick, that's a strong combover.
