***Conference Collision #2 on MNF - Baltimore Ravens 11-3 at San Francisco 49ers 11-3*** (-5.5, 46) Christmas Night - 8:15 (1 Viewer)

I mean, I get it, but what is LJ suppose to do?
how about NOT run backwards 20 yards into your own end zone?

Seriously, that might have been a safety anyway even if ump doesnt fall down there
Ehhh yeah easy to say. He dropped back to avoid pressure and wanted to roll to his throwing side but that was clearly cut off trapping him in the pocket. He was going to escape Young left if the ref doesn’t fall in his path.

put another way...do something stupid can't complain about the outcome, even if that outcome is kind of fluky...but blaming the ump there is beyond silly

He was getting sacked regardless
He is Lamar, you absolutely can not say that.
true. LJ might have escaped and managed to throw it away. Doesn't mean he didn't deserve to give up a safety. You DO NOT run backwards 20+ yards and then blame the ump for getting in the way

For sure sure it was not smart football and that's the gift and curse of being as mobile as he is. Still, the ref fell right into his path. That should not happen and no player goes through a play worrying about "what if the ref is in my way"

Well now we know why he could not throw it.

Holding down field. Not one....but two guys holding them.

Man I really hate a safety happening because the ref fell down
again...100% on LJ. NOT THE REFS
Oh stop it, the ref fell right into his path
refs have to be on the field somewhere, and are amazingly good at staying out of the way...but if you expect they'll never get in the way when a QB runs backwards 25 yards spinning in every direction you're absolutely crazy....and it's insane to blame the ref under those circumstances. It was bizarre, and unlucky, but not the refs fault. If fault is to be laid, it has to be to LJ, but maybe the better answer is to chalk it up to bad luck

That guy used to get run over by wr and LB before they moved him ;)

Sure and I stand by my original comment. I hate the penalty in that situation.

I fully think if a ref interferes with a plays, it should be a dead play.
