Steelers have held WR the fewest points in the NFL the past 5 weeks. I'm starting Givens or Stervie Johnson over him.I am considering taking him out of my lineup this weekend, given the matchup. I am not so much worried that the Steelers corners will be able to contain DX, I just think the Steelers pressure Rivers consistently, limiting his ability to find open receivers. I am gonna play Josh Gordon and hope for a long strike from Weeden again. Hope I don't regret it.

Again, must start, stud right now.Such a good point. Once over the mental part of it, I have been playing Shorts and DX with AJ Green while Harvin is out.I can see the flip side of the coin for Hilton owners. Except for the Jax game, he has been on fire the last 5 weeks (WR11 in PPR on a PPG basis). Nice matchup, at home, good chemistry with a good QB who throws a ton.
My question would be - do you only start two WRs? Because if you start 3 or have a flex, I would say DX AND Hilton, with another decision to make on the third. Obviously DX came cheap for most, and Hilton was either a late flyer or WW pickup as well. I think it's sometimes hard to convince ourselves to plug in TWO WW gems. We can do one, but two seems like too big of a risk.
We tend to hang on to sunk costs to justify earlier decisions. It's a sunk cost - it won't change no matter what you decide. We think "I have to start players X and Y who I drafted in the 2nd/3rd/4th, and then I'll decide between Hilton or Alexander for my third."
(ASIDE - I'm a redraft guy, obvs dynasty is a different mindset)
FWIW, for the sake of comparison, I have been rolling out Cecil Shorts and DX for weeks, leaving Torrey Smith, Jordy Nelson and (before he got hurt) DeSean Jackson on my bench. I played Shorts in bad weather and DX against tough matchups versus the Ravens and Bengals, and it paid off. My WR1 - my consistent PPR machine - is Welker.
I think this guy is a must start right now. He stays healthy, he stays in the lineup...
2 TDs today
deserve the loss if I take it for benching himMark that. That may be my new sig.I'm riding this big black man next week.
I also benched him for Hilton! Who could see Rivers having a good game? That was his best game of the year. Honestly, it wasn't as much Rivers great game as the putrid play of Roethlisberger/Steelers O. It may not look that way in the final box score, but they repeatedly did nothing on O and the Chargers got great field position. I think the Steelers D got a bit worn out because they were out there so much and backed up against the wall. The Chargers were up 27-3 until 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. In the Steelers 1st half, the only drive that got anything was right at halftime where they kicked a FG with no time left in the half. The other drives totalled 56 yards. 6 of those 7 awful drives were 3 and out or 4 and out. The Chargers scored 13 in the first half, but started 4 of 7 drives in Pitt territory and really only had one good drive, but even then 39 of the 48 yards were on the one TD pass. The longest other drive was a 12 play 36 yard drive to kick a 51 yard FG.Danario was great, but I think if the Steeler O did anything in the first half, he may not have had a great game. DX's second TD was because SD started that drive on the Pitt 17. Anyway, not trying to rain on any parades. I had a chance to pick him up in a couple leagues and waited one game too long, but I just wanted to give out some info just so you know that he manhandled Pitt with quite a bit of help from Roethlisberger.I also benched him for Hilton! I'm confused. So Danario didn't make two great plays that resulted TDs? What am I reading here?Honestly, it wasn't as much Rivers great game as the putrid play of Roethlisberger/Steelers O. Yes it's a reach...but the opportunity is there for Danario to become the Vincent Jackson type player that the team desperately needs. Robert Meacham was a failed experiment. I think that when Alexander was on the Rams last year he didnt reach his full potential first and foremost because he had trouble staying healthy, which of course is and will always be an issue with him...but I think Bradford also sucked last year and didn't throw many accurate deep balls. Not that Rivers is doing any better this year, because he is putrid. But I am taking a flyer on alexander in all leagues this week. He could be an absolute non factor and if so ill drop him a few weeks down the road. OR he could explode for a touchdown or 2 tomorrow night in his first meaningful appearance as a charger, in a must win game, against a bad defense. Not sayin I plan to start him, just saying I plan to OWN him just in case. I dropped Phillip Tanner for him. If you have other bench fodder similar to that level why not take a shot on this kid. No one can deny his natural talent IF he can stay healthy. Kids has serious game.

Thanks man I appreciate the props. DX has been, along with a few other key pickups, a savior for my season. But for every call like this one I've muffed on another one. Like Jerome Simpson who I thought would be an animal this year. Just enjoying the ride with DX and taking great pleasure in swing others do so as well!Yes it's a reach...but the opportunity is there for Danario to become the Vincent Jackson type player that the team desperately needs. Join a league where you start more than 5 players.I left him on my bench for aj green and marshall. How can I bench green or Marshall? Besides, having Lynch and ADP saved my butt....

what's your point here? That roster isn't unfathomable in dynasty. 1/2/3/1 is a pretty common lineup. I'm probably benching Witten (vs. Steelers) for him (vs. Panthers) next week. Week 16 if we make it there will be very tough. One of DA (Jets, SNF), VJax (Rams), Witten (Saints), or Gonzo (Lions, Saturday night) will have to be on the bench. Why do people post this garbage? Anytime some guy has a few catches he's labeled a "WR3" ... I swear there are 40 "WR3"'s out there. At 9 points in PPR, even if he maintains that, it's around 61st on a per game basis, which would be a WR6.This guy was a free agent two weeks ago. Each team has around 5-6 WRs, right? That's around 180 WRs currently on NFL teams. After 3 catches when he was facing the 5th CB on every play you're insinuating he's suddenly in the top 30 WR group. Get a grip. There's nothing to see here.If DA stays healthy, he's a viable WR3 from here on out.The 41 yards should be enough to park Meachem's ### on the bench for the rest of the season (where it belongs).41 yards in the 1st quarter ... if he can get through this game healthy and if the Chiefs stay competitive enough to let the Chargers throw in the 2nd half he'll have a breakout game.
Oh, and I clearly meant the #3 WR from here on out.
Green, Marshall, Lynch and ADP? What are you even worried about. BTW, what does the other team in your league have?I left him on my bench for aj green and marshall. How can I bench green or Marshall? Besides, having Lynch and ADP saved my butt....

I think sell is the right answer. I don't think his value can get any higher than it is right now.Let's talk dynasty leagues with DX - is he a hold or a sell high? I love his talent and I think he's a freak but do his knees continue to be a long-term concern? Does someone with his injury history really ever get past it? If he finishes the season strong I imagine he'll hold great trade value this off-season. Sell now or ride into next year and see if the knees can hold up? I'm leaning sell...
As much as I love him for a redraft league, I think you gotta sell. You probably could get something great (and more reliable long term) for him. I feel like his injury history is kinda low-key too, if there are any casual players in your league (not players who don't set their lineups, but players who might not thoroughly follow college or unsuccessful NFL teams like the Rams) who might not know the real reason why he "came outta nowhere".Let's talk dynasty leagues with DX - is he a hold or a sell high? This may be true, but I counted 3 drops (uncharacteristicly) and one of them would have been for a big gain, so he could have had an even bigger day.Honestly, it wasn't as much Rivers great game as the putrid play of Roethlisberger/Steelers O. My post was tongue in cheek, but the point was to join a league where you start more than 4 combined RB and WR position players; a lineup that small is subject to incredible variance making the league pretty silly. I've done my best to avoid all the assistant coach posts in this thread, and for whatever reason there are a tonne of them in here, but the prospect of benching Danario for either Witten or Gonzo is absurd imo.Join a league where you start more than 5 players.I left him on my bench for aj green and marshall.
