This is not your local barn owl, friends.

While many here have gone with the easy selection of largest birds ...what's been lost in that practice is the cunning, marksmanship and elusiveness of the wise, old Owl.

Scavengers of a feather will flock together, but the Owl sits atop the predatory bird food chain...a HUNTER, in the purest sense. Yes, eagles, he will hunt you down, too...by air, if necessary.

Foxes, look out...you are on this LARGE OWL'S menu. And deer, hide your fawn...or Bubo Bubo will snatch them from the fields. Oh yes, he will...documented.

Lastly, please note that the Owl's nocturnal ways were also a consideration when making this shrewd pick...as the rest of our bloodthirsty team sleeps, the Owl will have his radar on, wary of sneak attacks ...or late night snacks.

:rotflmao: I have this picture of the owl attacking Wolverine while he is sleeping. The owl is clawing away, trying desparetly to kill the formitable beast. After hours of work, the Owl takes a break, since he hasnt even woken Wolverine.

Does that mean you need to provide a pick of your Owl defeating its victims for us to believe it? It just so happens my Wolverine is that much of a kickass steathly mutha that there are only a few pictures ever taken. Most of the time, the people come across a camera and a little bit of blood. I tell ya what, I dont see myself trying to photograph one.JAA

There is not a documented case of your earlier round wolf/dog ever attacking and killing a human. :lol: However, our later-round Sea Leopard just ate some chic snorkeling THIS year. :shock:

The Eurasian Eagle Owl will take on all birds, especially eagles. He is our General -- a leader and strategist -- as well as our lookout.

Interestingly, I think in the head to head matchups matchups could be key. One team may be strong against everyone else but the one team they have to face in the first round.I think that should be made clear in that the group of beasts are going up against each other, and not just in general.

Fulfilling his sea creature requirement,

The Rover selects:

The Alligator Gar

Alligator Gar, or Gaspar Lepidosteidas, can grow up to 300 pounds. This fish is the largest in the gar family, and sometimes get to be over 300 pounds. They look a little like the Northern Pike, but with more teeth. Compared to the Tarpon, it is not a great fighting fish, but because of their size and ability to jump, they are always exciting to catch, but certainly dangerous. These fish have inflicted more injuries on our guides than any other fish. When the rivers are low, we can catch dozens on most any type of lure, but with high water, bait is usually the only thing that works well. The "In-Fisherman" publication says of the alligator gar... it jumps, bulldogs, thrashes and rolls, and will take your face off if it gets the chance.

Well, for once I am left to my own devices. There are some things I would like to discuss with Sir Limey regarding his last, clinching animal pick, so I'm going to utilize my own Russian bride prowess and go with the roughest toughest Russian bride in the land:

Olga

At 5'6", 165, she's a lean, mean, hippo killing machine. Fear this woman. Boo-####ing-Yaa.

 
If any more penalty animals are designated, I'd ask the commish to consider the Rockhopper Penguin

Alex at Mrs. Lindsay's reports that: "Rockhoppers live at the South Pole. They are the smallest of the crested penguins. An adult height is 45 to 55 centimeters. They eat mostly krill, squid and other fish. They are very playful and like to swim."

Qualifies as a sea creature in a pinch, and looks somewhat like a Russian Bride
