And my 8th rounder

Krista took the Beatles this morning.

Crap, I didn't see it on the front page. It was a spite pick anyway. I would have changed it eventually.

Let me go back and read the last few pages, which is what I should have done in the first place.

The front page isn't updated regularly, so the best way to determine if a band has been picked is to do a search in the thread. (The search function works much better, especially for a within-thread search, since the migration to the new platform.)

You're good with the Stones, though.

Mother's Day Pick:

S - Sun Kil Moon - I Can't Live Without My Mother's Love

My mother is seventy five
She's the closest friend I have in my life...

I can live without watching the classic old fights
I can live without a lover beside me at night
I can live without what you might call a charmed life
But I can't live without my mother providing her light

B, X, Q, Z, G, E, J, S, U

Front page fully up to date...now I can play with some things

Q and U are the most popular letters taken so far with 13 of the 16 of us having chosen it.
I have more than 3 choices at each so I can be a cool little fonzie here

Surprisingly O is next with 12 choices. I have at least 10 options left, so am not worried at all.

Coming in 4th is Z with 10 choices. I have 4 choices left. Could get interesting

5th we have a tie with E, V and Y at 9 selections. I have E covered, V and Y should be pieces of piss.

X is gonna be the *******. Only 6 chosen.

All letters have now had a selection. D, M, S and T pull up the rear at 1 pick

Round 10 (G): The Good Rats - "***** Joe" ("*****" rhymes with "Sinjun")

This band may not be familiar to many. Made their bones in the early 1970s on Long Island (NY), playing the club scene along with Twisted Sister and Zebra, among a few others. Didn't find much commercial success, but still have a cult following in the NYC area and a few other selected regions.

My apologies for the offensive song title - it's really just about the character from Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer. I basically picked the tune because it's a hell of a jam.

Used: E, G, I, O, Q, U, V, X, Y, Z

thoughts of My Father's Place, the venerable Roslyn(?) music venue - seemed like every 'NEW commercial break featured a spot about their weekend billings, and the Goodt Rats were ubiquitous in such.
