Price check on a few guys who I think may be in a buy or sell window, but could break either way.
Mixon (buy) - has his price dipped enough where we can buy him for a discount, or were the early season positives keeping his value in the 2nd round of startups?
Cook (buy) - disappointing in the running game especially and hurt, much like Mixon. Has his current value taken a hit or is he holding steady as a late 1st/early 2nd startup pick.
Keelan Cole (neutral) - has his value risen to a sell point, or hold for more increases in value?
Geronimo Allison (neutral) - looks like a top 3 option in the GB passing game. Sell now/soon, or wait for a bigger role? Cobb probably gone next year unless he restructures his deal.
Devonta Freeman (sell) - hurt now, but is his value still high enough when he comes back that you can potentially trade Freeman plus something smallish for Mixon or Cook? Freeman does not look the same from what I've seen, his quickness, agility and burst seem much slower than in the past. Where is his trademark super quick spin move?
Only a fool is selling Mixon right now in dynasty, IMO. He looked very good in the first two games. Given that owners tend to be higher than average on their players (since they drafted them in the first place and have ego attachment), I just don't see Mixon being a realistic buy low candidate. Personally, I wouldn't sell for anyone outside the top ~10 startup candidates, so you wouldn't be getting him cheap from me. Then again, I've always been a Mixon bull. I believe he's a better back than Fournette, Hunt, and Cook from his draft class.
I have Cook in one league and I'd be more open to moving him. He's ranked as the
17th overall player here and that feels like it's near his absolute value ceiling, as I don't really see him becoming the super tier Gurley/Zeke/Bell type of back. He's not a big guy and has already had some injury issues, though it's admittedly a small sample size. I lean towards him being a light sell at his current market price. I don't think he will ever be worth much more than what he's worth now. There are players ranked in his range on that list that I would rather have if I could actually make any of those deals (I prefer Mixon, Hill, and JuJu over Cook).
Both of those backs are already valued quite highly, but I personally think Cook is already valued at his ceiling whereas Mixon has potential to push on and become a top 5 overall type of player. That's why I lean towards Cook being a sell and Mixon being a buy/hold even though both players seem similar on paper, with a short track record of mixed results and a high dynasty value.
Freeman isn't a player I've ever owned or tried to acquire, so I have less to say about him. As a Cook and Mixon owner, I would not move either for Freeman. Freeman has multiple strong seasons under his belt, but has never looked like a guy with a great ceiling. I doubt you could get a great player straight up for him. On the other hand, there aren't a lot of backs ranked behind him who I'd clearly rather have. I would
consider Chubb, Drake, Guice, and maybe even D Henry depending on roster composition and goals.
Those WRs don't seem like anything other than waiver pickups to me. I wouldn't spend any actual resources on them.
