Dynasty Value Discussion Thread (2 Viewers)

I don't understand some dynasty owners.

I sent an offer of...

Freiermuth (2 year contract)
-for-
James Conner (1 year contract, also 'old' for a RB)

and the reply was, "I don't like Pat."

Do y'all reject trades that make your team better just because you don't like a player for some reason? Ok, sure, Pat isn't great and is a low end TE 2, but...

Which side has more dynasty value? maybe I'm just wrong?
Conner >>> Freiermuth, regardless of contract status.
even at conner's age?

(1) You can find a near-equivalent to Muth off the waiver wire -- the only question I have with his fantasy value is whether there's supposed to be a hyphen between the words "piss" and "poor".

(2) I would never count out Conner on not beating anything including father time. I would start a peg-legged Conner forced to play with an eye patch and parrot on his shoulder over Muth.

All jokes aside, your using the verbiage "Do y'all reject trades that make your team better" made me wonder where exactly you were coming from -- I view it 180 degrees the opposite and not even close (why not offer him peanuts instead). But, good luck to you, sir.

Unless there is a major TE premium or I was completely out and couldn't find a buyer for Conner anywhere else, I would have rejected this offer.

so you would make the effort to try to trade Connor?

There is a TE premium, but putting that aside... maybe I'm too aggressive in moving players too soon? I feel like it's rare for a RB to put up significant numbers when they hit 30yo?
I would trade Connor (assuming I'm out), but not for Freiermuth. Your offer is too low strictly based on value.

If he's contending, he's probably not real interested in moving Connor.
If he's rebuilding, he shouldn't care about a TE2.

Yes. That’s a bad offer dude.

i have to say, I'm confused by y'all's comments on value. He loses his Conner next off-season, so if he doesn't trade him this season -- deadline is Friday -- then Conner has zero value.

So it’s Conner rest of season for Freiermuth this year and next. Does he have playoff hopes and start Conner? If so, lol no deal. If not a contender, he should consider your deal.

What does Conner's age have to do with anything if this is strictly a short term play given the 1 year contract?

Regardless, your offer is low. Muth is worth minimal unless this is a Steelers TE-P league (and I have 2 shares). And your offer for Chase in a previous post was low too. It seems like you might be the type that overvalues your own assets too much and thus will make trading with avg+ owners much more difficult.

apparently, Jamaar Chase is untouchable. A league mate is out of the playoff hunt and turned down my offer...

Chase (4 year contract)
-for-
three first round picks (one is top 3)

denied
Chase is sitting atop most rankings right now as the #1 overall with Jefferson and Lamb's QB woes. (SF maybe Allen or LJax in the conversation, TEP Bowers might be there.) Realistically that needed to be at least two top 3 picks most likely to even have a shot. More likely you'd have to have it be a very good player plus maybe two of those picks to pull him away right now.

Amari Cooper.

What are we thinking here? My league seems to think he’s toast - I don’t. What am I missing? He was dealt for 2025 5th today. I feel like he’s worth much more than that.
That’s a steal. I’m shocked he went so cheaply now healthy and in a good offense.

When he was hurt I got Mooney+Okereke for him.

He should command a 2nd-early 3rd IMO.

I get it. He’s a league-winner. He’s young, and his ceiling is astronomical. He’s put up games of 29.8, 41, & (gasp!) 55 this year. Averaging 22 a week, and just 24, tied to a great QB in a vertical offense.

He’s arguably the #1 overall dynasty asset regardless of format. I wouldn’t take 3x 1sts for him either unless I wasn’t competitive. If I’m rebuilding that’s probably a fair price. But he’s the kind of dude you build a franchise around. Don’t see why anyone would move him at this point.

He’s untouchable.

Even in a rebuild, he's the kind of guy you build around, especially at 24 years old.

I posted about a potential trade a few weeks ago involving Bo Nix. Has our collective perception of that dude changed much in the interim?

For reference, I was offered Nix for Nabers straight up in a large roster SF league rebuild where my QBs are Goff and Darnold. Yes, it's an overpay, but it's gotta be getting close with Nix in the conversation for OROY.

It’s not out of line for someone to prefer to lose Conner at the end of this year for nothing rather than have Freiermuth clog their roster next year as a low end TE2. Not sure how else someone can explain this trade rejection atrocity that would make sense for how you seem to perceive the two. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nix has clearly grown into the role and has a coach who can use his skills.
I still think Nabers has a higher ceiling, but SF is a different beast.

I can see it being closer today then 5 weeks ago.

What's the consensus on Levis in SF dynasty lately? I got an offer of Bigsby + late 3rd for him.

I'm competing right now, Levis is my QB4. Half of me thinks this may be the only/last chance I have to unload him, but then again he is a young starting QB and it is Superflex...but there's a halfway decent chance he's Kenny Pickett by this time next year

Levis has a LOT of growing to do to become a QB1. I think his leash in 2025 will be relatively short, but the Titans will give him plenty of chances to succeed.

I'm not sure I'd give him up for Bigsby and a dart throw.

I just traded for Puka in a 2 player PPR keeper league ($200 budget). He will cost $16 and $26 the next two years. I traded C-Mac to a team trying to win. He would cost $76 and $86 the next two years.

Sounds like a good opportunity to unload. I haven't watched a lot of Titan's games, but I don't think Levis is any better than Mason Rudolph. There's still a chance he turns the corner, but it seems like the odds are against him.

Yep - that’s what I’m saying - there’s just no circumstance I’d deal him.

That’s not enough in SF.

I’d need a late 1st. SF skews QB value significantly, and Levis looks like he’s earning the job.

With CMC likely done for this year and who knows about the future ... what's Jordan Mason's value?

I own CMC, the Jordan Mason owner is out of playoff contention and willing to trade him? He originally offered Mason and Late 2025 1st for ARSB, but not doing that. Is a guy like Dell to light for Mason? Mason owners who are out of it, what would it take you to move him or are you holding?

Moved him for a 1st after 4-5 games of him starting in the beginning of season.

Jordan Mason went for a high 2nd & high 3rd late October in my PPR 12 Team 1QB league.
Current owner is competing (likely to move to 9-4 after MNF).

Thanks. I would be Ok moving Dell for Mason as I have ARSB, Collins, Tyreek, McConkey, and JSN at WR

Rebuilding and trying to get what I can for Evan Engram in a SF, BB, TEP (1.0 vs 0.5 PPR).
With his age and now uncertain situation in JAX, not sure what his value is.
Worth a 2025 late 2nd? Send him and a late 2025 2nd for a late 2025 1st?

Last bench spot .. would u rather stash Jonnu Smith (through cheap trade as I have Kelce and worried about retirement) or grab a guy Kendre Miller.

Old vet vs potential.

There’s gotta be a way for you to get both. Is this TEP? Are you competing this year?

Doesn’t matter. Figure out a way to roster both my man.

Got Jonnu. Have MN and Chicago D. Planning on dropping Chicago for Kendre and use MN for playoffs or I could drop Coker. I have plenty or WR.

How do you guys value Bryce Young vs Michael Penix in dynasty long-term? It’s a start 2QB league. I basically have an opportunity to acquire Penix for Young.

I prefer Young at this point, although value-wise I think it's a push. Young's ceiling and floor have increased a TON this season. I really like what the new staff have done with and for Young. We still don't have a timeline for when Penix takes over the starting role in Atlanta.

Interesting scenario...question...who are your current QBs?
I ended up pulling the trigger on it. Gave Bryce and a 4th for Penix. I just ultimately see Penix as the better player for fantasy.

QB room after the trade: Stroud, Purdy, Geno, Carr, Penix

With that QB group I really like this deal...you have enough QBs on your rosters to be able to wait out Penix if he doesn't start until 2026...my guess is he starts before then, but I always factor in the worst-case scenario (especially in a 2-QB format where you can definitely get into trouble)...Young seems to be righting the ship but I don't think it's a bad idea to cash out on him while you can when another young QB with upside is involved.

For those of us in keeper/dynasty leagues who aren't in the playoffs but have another week or two to scour the waiver wire: Any young players who could potentially see major role increases next year that you're targeting? Thinking specifically of any backup RBs whose starters could be cuts/FAs in the offseason.

Check out a couple of the dynasty stash/deep keeper threads. Good stuff in there.

ETA: here’s one…
