More of a spoken interlude than a bridge9.06 - M83 - "Graveyard Girl" (Bridge)
I'm gonna jump the walls and run
I wonder if they'll miss me, I won't miss them
The cemetery is my home,
I want to be a part of it, invisible even to the night
Then I'll read poetry to the stones,
Maybe one day I could be one of them, wise and silent
Waiting for someone to love me
Waiting for someone to kiss me
I'm 15 years old and I feel it's already too late to live
Don't you?
I've always called it a "bridge soliloquy"More of a spoken interlude than a bridge![]()
"Homeless" was written jointly by Paul Simon and Joseph Shabalala, the lead singer of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, to a melody from a traditional Zulu wedding song.[14] In the song, "the figure of Joseph becomes the dual image of a dispossessed African black man and the New Testament Joseph." For the song, Simon sent a cassette demo to Shabalala, and the two later met at Abbey Road Studios in London, where the rest of the song was completed.
I'll take my sampling now.@FUBAR, it's all you!
The link in the first post works (at least for me).is there a master draft list being updated somewhere? The original post stops pretty early
my badDo I have a makeup song too? (I think my pick of queen/bicycle was missed)I'm going to take a huge leap and say on behalf of the other drafters that we'd not like to have any Europe songs!Certainly not forcing anyone to pick them!!!
@FUBAR, back to you!!
Too bad worst cover wasn't a categoryI'm going to take a huge leap and say on behalf of the other drafters that we'd not like to have any Europe songs!Certainly not forcing anyone to pick them!!!
@FUBAR, back to you!!
I have that one (Bicycle Race) on the spreadsheet. Pick 9.02. Great song.Do I have a makeup song too? (I think my pick of queen/bicycle was missed)
While not the "best" acoustic guitar song ever, this song exemplifies the feeling acoustic guitar should. Relaxed, retrospective, just a great song A pirate looks at 40, Jimmy buffett
)It samples the songs "Guns of Brixton" by The Clash and the Once Upon a Time in the West theme by Ennio Morricone, and includes interpolations of the songs "Just Be Good to Me" by The SOS Band and "Jam Hot" by Johnny Dynell.
This explains the text message.Northern Voice said:I saw this band twice yesterday.
Another recentish (damn I'm getting old when 26 years ago was recent)@FUBAR, You are up.
Same ... but I'm ready to catch up now.Ilov80s said:Long weekend and brutal workday. I should be able to get back in T or W.
To me, any music after college fits into a single temporal bucket.Another recentish (damn I'm getting old when 26 years ago was recent)
Funny, that was made just before I entered high school but I associate BT with college.To me, any music after college fits into a single temporal bucket.
Totally fine with this. In any draft where no one's concerned with sniping, ditching the ordered picks becomes a good idea at a certain point.Time to consider two picks a day, one AM and one PM? Seems to be heading that way anyway.
This was the last pick in sequence at 11.02. It's been four hours, and I was up at 11.04 -- so I have been skipped, it appears. Looks like picks 11.03 - 11.06 have all been skipped and we are on 11.07 now.Harmonica, But anyway blues traveler
Is it wrong that when I read that song title, my mind wants to add 'Like a' and make it from 'the band so good they named it twice?'12.02 - Harmonies - X - "Hungry Wolf"
As it turned out, the wolves ran more endlessly than with their mates than John and Exene did. But the way their voices blend still brings goosebumps.
I'm glad Exene and Billy are in good health and X continues to perform. Their annual West Coast X-mas tour has become an institution.
Ahhh, 80s!
