think tanks primarily exist in their current form to launder PR messaging under the guise of faux-academia, the Arabia Foundation is funded by a secret network of Saudi elites & should be seen as a lobbying firm despite the fact they managed to hire a few mercenary "analysts".

there is ZERO chance the NYT would let a group funded by relatives and friends of Venezuela or Iran's leaders simply be labeled "a think tank" when writing about Venezuela or Iran. This would simply never happen. But when it's US allies everyone checks their brains at the door.

The story was built on the recent news that the FBI had reopened an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails after discovering messages on a laptop belonging to Anthony Weiner, the husband of Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

In the end, the FBI found that the emails in question were largely duplicates, and soon closed the investigation. But before that happened, True Pundit quoted “NYPD sources” to claim that there was enough information on the laptop “to put Hillary (Clinton) and her crew away for life.”

CNN uses Lanny Davis as anonymous source to push phony "Trump knew about Trump Tower meeting in advance" story

Attorney Lanny Davis says he was an anonymous source in a July CNN story that reported his client, Michael Cohen, had privately claimed that President Trump had advance knowledge of the infamous Trump Tower meeting between his son and Russians — contradicting Davis's own words on CNN's air last week.

In the story, Cohen was reported to claim he had personally witnessed Donald Trump Jr. informing then-candidate Trump about the June 2016 meeting. Such a claim from Cohen would directly contradict Trump’s statements about his knowledge of the meeting, where Russians were set to offer dirt on Hillary Clinton.

CNN’s July 26 story has come under fresh scrutiny in recent days after Davis acknowledged he had served as an anonymous source for multiple news outlets who were seeking to confirm the CNN article in the hours after it published. Davis has backed away from the story in recent days, telling the Washington Post that he is not certain if the claim is accurate, and that he could not independently corroborate it.

The Washington Times retracts op-ed it published that helped fuel the Seth Rich nonsense.

The Washington Times published an op-ed column titled, “More cover-up questions: The curious murder of Seth Rich poses questions that just won’t stay under the official rug,” by Adm. James Lyons (Ret.) (the “Column”), on March 1 online and on March 2 in its paper editions. The Column included statements about Aaron Rich, the brother of former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich, that we now believe to be false.

One such statement was that: “Interestingly, it is well known in the intelligence circles that Seth Rich and his brother, Aaron Rich, downloaded the DNC emails and was paid by Wikileaks for that information.” The Washington Times now does not have any basis to believe any part of that statement to be true, and The Washington Times retracts it in its entirety.

The Column also stated: “Also, why hasn’t Aaron Rich been interviewed [by law enforcement], and where is he?” The Washington Times understands that law enforcement officials have interviewed Mr. Rich and that he has cooperated with their investigation. The Washington Times did not intend to imply that Mr. Rich has obstructed justice in any way, and The Washington Times retracts and disavows any such implication.

The Washington Times apologizes to Mr. Rich and his family. All online copies of the Column have been deleted and all online content referencing the Column has been deleted to the extent within The Washington Times’ control.

This black workaday guy should have thought about a national media organization doxxing him for posting an edited video of Pelosi, because his politics are wrong?  The Daily Beast is like the kid that likes to fry ants with a magnifying glass here.  Then the Russophobia thrown in for good measure. This is straight garbage, trash heap, dumpsterfire journalism.

The guy runs multiple for-profit media outlets, which were utilized to publish the video. As such, his reporting should be subject to the same level of exposure as any mainstream media journalist.

Also, what's the deal with ren playing the race card? Is he trying to elicit sympathy based on the person's ethnicity? Was he implying that the guy didn't know what he was doing because he was black? Seriously, what does his skin color have to do with uploading a video?

 
Oh, I dont know, if I had decided I didn't want to do my 3 years probation in California and instead basically immediately upon serving my sentence rolled on back to New York,.....maybe I wouldn't draw laser focused attention upon myself publicly by posting political propaganda on major social media. Maybe.

Halper was not confidential- he had already been outed in the 80's.  There is no serious equivalency between the most powerful intelligence agencies in the world foisting a bogus conspiracy theory onto the American political system and getting outed for it, and a nationally syndicated news outlet punching down on a guy for posting facebook videos from his garage.

I keep taking this at face value but now I'm starting to wonder. He worked on the Reagan campaign IIRC, no? That's what was published. The claim was that CIA personnel were passing info to Halper, not that Halper was with the CIA.
