I'm not, but I don't think you and I will be sniping each other too muchAre Doug B and Tasker on skip?
I don't think that's exactly how that category works, but I have no qualms with it.As usual, I have no plan for mixes, just taking songs I like. I don't want to break my self imposed draft rules, so I wanted to get a song that actually mentions a sports team. The rub is, I could only come up with one. Sure, he didn't have to use his AK, but the Lakers also beat the Supersonics.
3.3: ICE CUBE- IT WAS A GOOD DAY (song that mentions a sports team)
Sorry, didn't notice. I don't have a song queued up and have to leave the office. Skip me for now, I will pick in like an hour or two.Doug B said to skip so Tasker is up.
It's the most wide open category IMO. I thought it was a good suggestion because this is ostensibly a sports-centric board but there just aren't that many songs that contain direct references. I'm curious to see how fast and loose people take this one. KP's pick is right at the chewy center of this category.I don't think that's exactly how that category works, but I have no qualms with it.As usual, I have no plan for mixes, just taking songs I like. Another one I wasn't familiar with.2.11 My Little Runaway - Stone Coyotes ... Female Artist

Possible category for future draft: songs that reference other songs
Love that album. The 1970s El Lay music scene got a lot of grief during the post-punk years for being soft but man, it produced some great sounding records.3.6 Warren Zevon "Carmelita" - song about heroin.

Yeah, this was my category suggestion for this very reason. I did envision it as having to be a reference to a team of some sort, either real or fictional, within the song---so the Lion Sleeps Tonight would not count as a Detroit Lions reference. But I don't really care. It's the most wide open category IMO. Give me a couple and I will get it together. If I'm not done by 8, then go.Yup. Then you. Then me.Mr. Ected is up, correct?
It is called having draft integrity. Some have it, some don't.The Star Spangled Banner could be drafted as the Stars, Rockets or Braves. No, mine is. I just assumed it was in the title. Always think of this now when I hear this song: Rick and MortyBack in college, my new cell phone finally had the amazing ability to record ringtones. This inevitably led to many, many ####ty-quality homemade ringtones, such as my famous ringtone of Dennis Green shouting "they are who we thought they were....and we let em off the hook."
But one longtime ringtone was so legendary and memorable that to this day, people still text me out of the blue when it comes on the radio, as the song will permanently remind them of me and my ####ty phone. So bad, yet so, so good. Always have a special place in my heart.

Big fan. We saw Gruff Rhys tour behind his American Interior album. It was part concert, part history lecture, part stand up routine and a unique personal twist on the singer/songwriter concert formula. The Dreaded Marco said:3.xx Super Furry Animals - Some Things Come From Nothing (International artist - Wales)

Woefully underappreciated band. I love all their albums. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see Rhys' solo tour. Sounds great.Big fan. We saw Gruff Rhys tour behind his American Interior album. Unfortunately, most of the Furries albums came off Spotify recently.
I think I threw one of their tunes into my list for this draft... Can't remember which cat. Greatsound3.xx Super Furry Animals -
I was surprised to see some songs by a band that I like a lot from the 80s on Spotify. They put some albums out in the 80s, and were popular around the college circuit in the Southeast. They weren't on Spotify the last time we had a draft. I'd love to use a song by them, but they don't fit the groove of my mix.Unfortunately, most of the Furries albums came off Spotify recently.
I don't get the hate either. I don't care if he is pretentious or not. He puts his money and help where his mouth is, and does a lot of good for people in need.2.21 Beautiful Day - U2 (Category - International Country - Ireland)
One of my all time favorites - uplifting and rockin. Don't get the U2 hate - love these guys. Yeah, Bono is pretentious.
