The cover doesn't seem to get the song. The beginning of MIS was sooo cool at the time because of the way that they had Ben Orr's voice and other sounds are 'move' back and forth from side to side. The cover has some of the instruments in the left and right speakers, but it is no different than a regular 'stereo' song. The singer's voice is consistently in the center. It just missed the point of the song.

Aztec Camera covering VHs jump (this version made love the original, and VH at a time when I was a postpunk new wave kid)

Dirty Projectors covering Black Flags rise above (one of my all time favorites... I'm sure I post it everytime there's a covers thread)

I really enjoy some of the Kennedy Center covers.
One of my favorites may have to do with timing too. Steven Tyler had some issues with his larynx or idk... something in the news where he may not tour or sing again. Because today's www, since I was reading that, YouTube presented Steven Tyler singing a medley to Paul McCartney.
In a few minutes Tyler does all his own classic shtick- the big inhale, some ska... everything.

It hit different. Dude I'm gonna miss you.

He healed up and I guess they're doing a tour but ....that medley is still pretty great twenty second covers to me

Eddie is my untouchable voice I think. I don't like people singing his songs. It's never good enough.
Do you ever feel that way about a singer?

I’m pretty sure I posted this in that thread too. You should check it out because it was a great collection of covers.

But I’m going to do it again because they are two of my favorite bands——Silver Jews and Ohtis. And this Silver Jews’ song is arguably their best and a favorite.
