I have KP at 133.85 + Bradshaw + Tynes btw.-QG
naturally. I knew you'd come through with the goods lol!I get a cut-line of 181.75 - completely unbiased of course-QG
Wow, I thought my team was pretty balanced only lost 1 player from last week and I only scored: 155.20180.75 cut line? Yikes...
I was joking about that cutline - since KP wanted an "unbiased" oneIs that the real cut line? I did well and missed it by 3 pts. if so. How is it so much higher than last year?
That is the real cut line. Go check your team status.I was joking about that cutline - since KP wanted an "unbiased" oneIs that the real cut line? I did well and missed it by 3 pts. if so. How is it so much higher than last year?I'm sure it's lower than that.

Unbelievable how high it is. I'll be really curious to see how the top winning teams in the end are constructed... clearly my strategy of loading up on my projected SB teams and going skimpy on the others, hoping it would be enough to get buy, was flawed. I was nowhere close to the cut this week.Holy crap! I was just kidding around with that line about a 181.75 cut line. I can't believe the REAL cut line is 180.75. Total coincidence!Go Baltimore/San Francisco!Sorry to KP and smarchit :( all joking around aside you guys made the thread fun with the rivalry. That is a sick cut line.-QG
Wish I went with Nicks instead of Bradshaw. I think they were within $1-2 of each other. His disappointing year (in which I drafted him numerous times) told me otherwise.Interested to see what the cut is next week. I have a feeling it will be low with 2 "surprise" teams in the NFC.Good luck.Glad that Holloway isn't eligible - he'd have me covered (12 total Ravens/49ers to my 11) - he also has Nicks and Eli.-QG
I think you might have a great shot to win this. I clicked on 30 entires and didn't find one that had a serious chance at winning this except ofr one of the staff members. One guy had picked all QBs and is down to two players. Most teams are only scoring 4 players.Still alive, but done next week with only 5 guys scoring, been fun though.
Surprising to say the least. I think a lot of the serious entires got flushed out this week. If we had a query function, I think it's highly likely that you could identify the 16 guys who will win this contest right now.Again, I just can't get over how many entries with no chance of winning have to be accounted for in this contest. Seems like (and this is completely speculative) maybe 10% of entries are designed to even have a shot of winning, and even that may be too high.On one hand, it's a nice challenge to have rules with a bit of nuance, enough of which gives an advantage to those paying more attention. But at some point with so many people seemingly oblivious to how to actually win, I'm beginning to think it's a fundamental flaw that the vast majority of entries likely don't understand the rules fully. That being said - man, do I love these subscriber contests.
Very confused- I thought only the top two players were scored, yet the numbers being tossed around are pretty high. Must be cumulative adding on to last week?Surprising to say the least. The top two players are scored and the points werent cumulative. My team scored 248.15 (Highest for me in any week for a subscriber contest) and was courtesy of Brees/Colston, Brady/Gronk, Eli/Tynes and grant and D Thomas. My dollars wasted so far were:James casey $3Cotchery $9Grant $7Should have went with another Pat or giant, assuming the two of them make the big dance. Nicks was $18 and Bloom called this out on his playoff ranking piece "Will start to benefit from more attention to Cruz". Should have listened.'mrgerty said:Very confused- I thought only the top two players were scored, yet the numbers being tossed around are pretty high. I wonder how many SF/Balt entries made the cut. I can't imagine too many did with the cut at 180.75.i think he'll be fine. there are so many people invest in the saints that if sf wins, he'll be up against a ton of teams carrying dead money into next round. the same point you're making against his team is the same point that will get dead money teams over the cutline this week with no chance of advancing next week. it's a wash worst case for him and will liekly lean his direction if sf wins.I think you guys are missing the point. First, it assumes that the top 4 teams win, which means there will be no players from the Giants available. Second, there aren't two players on SF who are likely to outscore Rodgers and another GB player, especially if GB is playing from behind. And, other than Rice, the same goes for Baltimore versus Brady and another NE player. You could very easily miss the cut even with SF and Balt winning. For example, take a look at the Detroit/NO game. Stafford (41.1) and CJ (45) outscored Brees (41.2) and Sproles (22.5) by a wide margin, even though they lost to NO by 17 points. It's not hard to imagine that every single Detroit entry had both Stafford and CJ on their roster.I also have the two NY Giant players, IF the Giants can beat the Packers. However, even if I only have four scorers for the semi-final round and they are the two lowest scoring teams remaining, one or two of the Ravens or 49ers could hit big. I could see Ray Rice getting over 150 total yards and scoring multiple TDs and similar possibilities for Frank Gore. In addition to this, I don't have to be the high scorer, just make the cut so that my heavy 49er and Raven roster gets a shot.this doesn't make any sense - If his 2 teams win they must score to win. Having 4 players in the 2 games should be enough to make it to the finals.I think the biggest problem in your strategy (other than assuming the Bengals would winMy playoff contest teams are mostly focused on players from the 49ers and Ravens. I did not particularly think that these two teams were the favorites, but liked the value of the number of players that you could get combined with the potential to make it all the way.Since both my teams were NOT wild card teams, I selected two players each from the WC teams I expected to win (NY Giants - Eli & Nicks and Bengals - Dalton & Greene) and then added two Lions players (Stafford and Calvin) who I hoped would score well and upset the Saints.Obviously losing four players was not what I hoped for and now I am counting on only six players this weekend as well as wins by my two Super Bowl teams to get me by. Using 20/20 hindight, if I could have know how well Stafford and Calvin would have done, then I would have added a player or two from either the Packers or Patriots rather than the two Bengals.Oh well.) is the teams you picked for the Super Bowl. You went with two low scoring offenses. Even if you get by this week, you would have trouble with next week. Assume the top 4 seeds win this weekend. If you only have your SB players up against entries who only have GB/NE players, you would have trouble advancing even if SF and Baltimore go to the Super Bowl.
Man!!! I was LMAO as I read the responses to your sarcasm last night. I'm not laughing so much now. The contest admins DID catch the caveat that "Quizomatic Scoring" is unofficial, right?!?! Dang spoilers and Patsies!! On the positive side, I can now join my fellow Pittsburgh fans in rooting for the Pats and Ravens to BOTH explode just before kickoff. It was a fun first year run for me (both this and the reg season contest), but my anticipated problem of not having enough non SB balance came back to bite me in the butt. Good luck to Quiz and the others that are advancing.'QuizGuy66 said:Holy crap! I was just kidding around with that line about a 181.75 cut line. I can't believe the REAL cut line is 180.75. I think you have a great chance to money with that Super Bowl. I clicked on 40+ entires and didn't see a one with more than three players left from any one team.I had assumed when I lost one of my SB teams I was a dead entry, now I'm not so sure I couldn't compete with a NE/NYG final. Think there's any chance?

I really like that 102512 entry! Thanks for the banter in this thread QG, it is very interesting and entertaining.Okay here's some of the highlighted entries. (Quick aside - most of the other Balt/SF entries sit a little better for making the cut than mine does)
Caveats -
1) I looked at everything by brute force, so there's a possibility I missed a viable entry here or there (though there's less chance of that with the Bal/SF scenario as I care about that one a little more)
2) It's certainly possible - more like probable - that some of these entries with great Super Bowl set-ups will miss the cut. Readers should bear that in mind.
3) In conjunction with 1) and 2) - I have looked at the "extra" (i.e. Non-Super Bowl) guys that the key Balt/SF entries have going this week. I didn't do that for any other scenario.
4) Particularly with the 2 NE scenarios after I found a couple huge-player entries I skipped a couple 10-player entries that I looked at afterwards.

The red one is mine and I am kicking myself for not getting Smith and Flacco in the mix, I am sure I could have gotten them both and someone else to get me through to now just on what I spent on Brees and the other SaintsOkay here's some of the highlighted entries. That will beat mine.I have Welker instead of Hernandez plus I have Ocho Stinko,But I have the dynamic duo of Bradshaw and Ballard to your Eli and Nicks.Really need Giants to make it next week and then to stink it up in Super Bowl. Can't believe I am pulling for the Pats didn't think that day would ever come.I had assumed when I lost one of my SB teams I was a dead entry, now I'm not so sure I couldn't compete with a NE/NYG final.
