The link is in my sig.Finished the week up around 85%, now up 365% for the year ($100 initial to $465)
Does anyone have the link to the applet that lets you preview the players/wins of the contest?
Hello $1,000!That's a terrific idea that somebody should have thought of a long time ago, but better late than never.ajm27501 said:It looks like they are introducing a new contest format: "Head to Head Matrix". Basically like you are playing 20 people H2H all at the same time.

Find a new hobbySo, last week, after going from roughly $600 to $9, I vowwed to quit.
Welp, I didn't. I couldn't stand having lost money at this.
I started initially with $100. I had lost most of that so I had added another $100, and I had built that up to about $600 which I then lost all at once thanks to Jordan Reed's headache.
So, spur of the moment, I decided to deposit $535 and enter a $535 head to head contest for $1000.
There weren't a lot of opponent options as that price level, so I ended up facing off against "ehafner", a guy with 17,000 total wins and over 1,400 NFL wins.
My tight end, kicker, and defense ended up scoring a COMBINED 5 points. Laderius Green, Dan Bailey, and the Patriots.![]()
Fortunately, as usual, I'm really good at filling out the rest of my roster. I scored 141 points and won by about 15 points.Hello $1,000!
I've transfered $750 back out. Basically, I have locked in $15 of profit, lol. The remaining $250 will be used for the rest of the season or until I get bored or broke. No matter what, I've got a winning season under my belt now. It almost was catestrophic though. My inability to pick TEs, Ks, and Ds almost got me yet again. I'm pretty much going to spend for Graham from here on out. No more getting cute on that.
What's the advantage of a 20 person matrix as opposed to a 20 person 50/50? I guess the gradations of winnings rather than on/off winnings in the 50/50...That's a terrific idea that somebody should have thought of a long time ago, but better late than never.ajm27501 said:It looks like they are introducing a new contest format: "Head to Head Matrix". It gives you the variance-reduction multiple head-to-heads with the ease of entry and large field of a 50/50. ("Large field" meaning you don't end up playing only against condia and jigandreel.) Best of both worlds.
In a $10 50/50, you either win $8 or you lose $10. It's all or nothing, which is high variance. What's the advantage of a 20 person matrix as opposed to a 20 person 50/50? I guess the gradations of winnings rather than on/off winnings in the 50/50...
That would mean the matrix is better for the top portion of the 10 winners if they were in 50/50, but less ideal for those who barely squeak into 8th-10th place in the 50/50 but get the full winnings.
Scratch this... the matrix is better off for 11th through 20th finishers, equal for 1st place, and worse for 2nd through 10th - as compared to the $10, 20 person 50/50.What's the advantage of a 20 person matrix as opposed to a 20 person 50/50? I would love to but I usually play in the bigger tournaments and I think he will be heavily owned. Cousins can play and it's a good system for him going against a bad defense. I think he will be owned in about 20-30% in some tournaments.Anyone got the balls to roll with Kirk Cousins for $5100? I'm considering it.
I will on Sunday if I hear for sure that rg3 is inactive.Anyone got the balls to roll with Kirk Cousins for $5100? I'm considering it.
Coach Frazier announced Matt Cassel will be the starter on Sunday.
I doubt he'll be that heavily owned in anything that starts Thursday. Too much uncertainity.I would love to but I usually play in the bigger tournaments and I think he will be heavily owned. If he puts up a 24 point day, you got sick fantasy points per dollar. And thats not that unrealistic of an outcome.Kirk Cousins is crazy good value.
Plus Manning and Rivers are available Thursday. I'll roll with them mostly in my Thursday games and save the value plays for Sunday.I doubt he'll be that heavily owned in anything that starts Thursday. If that happens, it will be about the same amount of points that Flynn and Keenum have given me when I have played them.If he puts up a 24 point day, you got sick fantasy points per dollar. And thats not that unrealistic of an outcome.Kirk Cousins is crazy good value.
You also could have him locked in your lineup Thursday only to have Shanny fired on Friday and Griffin starting.
I started playin a little fantasy basketball as well. I don't know much about it but I follow a couple of people on twitter and they seem to know their stuff. I'm not sure if you have twitter but it is an excellent resource to help you with the daily fantasy games.does anyone here do daily fantasy basketball?
looks like i am going to have to take the winter off after football season is over.
i do alright in the weekly fantasy football games, but i get frigging smoked nightly in the nba... friggin brutal... cats are scoring 300+ points, with some random ### dudes and i use a few good players and get skunked.
was hoping to be able to have something to get me occupied until april once football is over but looks like it'll be a good time to chill.
any pointers for hoops?
yes i know i am in the wrong thread but figured since this one is pretty active with guys it might be a good place to start

I play a few times a week but it's not very fun. Over half of every 50/50 uses the players that Rotogrinders and TheFakeBasketball tell them to use.does anyone here do daily fantasy basketball?

yeah its what i kind of figured.. and what i noticed as well.. or i get stuck playing against some guy that has a 3000 dollar player go off for 40+ plus pointsI play a few times a week but it's not very fun. Sure. But Cousins putting up 24 is the same as Manning putting up 40.If any QB puts up 24 points he's good value. My question is he worth the $300 you'll save over Flynn? Reed looks to be out again for the game leaving Garcon as the only real pass catcher.Cousins putting up 24 is completely possible. He's probably 99% going to put up at least 12, which is a decent return on his price. Probably 60% to put up 16, which is a great return on his price.
This is an astute observation. And to me means that if you assume Garcon will receive a high % of Cousins' totals then he is the play.My question is he worth the $300 you'll save over Flynn? Personally I don't think Flynn or Cousins are good values. There is a decent chance they both do nothing (<13 points). Part of this has to do with not liking the top rbs this week though so I have extra $ to spend on qbswell depends on who that extra 300 dollars is allowing you to get..My question is he worth the $300 you'll save over Flynn? personally i'd prefer cousins over flynn especially after watching flynn vs. the lions a few weeks back but thats just me
I agree to a point. If I get word that Cutler is not playing, I will probably be going heavy on McCown again, but that is as much risk on a Thurs start as playing Cousins. I may consider throwing Ryan out there also, but I don't see a lot of value in the other QBs in the cheaper range than I can get for Cousins and save 2K in the process that I can put towards other positions.Personally I don't think Flynn or Cousins are good values. I'm seeing value this week in a couple the ~$7,500 qbs
EDIT: The above is strategy specific to 50/50s. I would consider Flynn and Cousins more in tournaments with a large field
Sure, anything is possible. But it's not very probable. 24 points is 300 yards, 3 TDs and 0 turnovers.Sure. What do you think about Ryan against Washington or Flacco against Detroit? Both are vulnerable pass defenses that are also decently stout against the run.I agree to a point. I am considering Putting Ryan in a few if McCown is not playing although I am still not sold on him even against Washington. He is playing at home so that helps. I have no desire to play Flacco at all. What do you think about Ryan against Washington or Flacco against Detroit?
