GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers placed running back Walt Williams on injured reserve Friday with a hamstring injury.
If I was a RB in Green Bay, I would probably think about getting the hell out of there. They are obviously cursed.

Point: Give Gado a chance to shine
By Larry GrahamPackersNews.com Most NFL running backs can trip and fall forward for a 2.6 yards per carry average. Among the top 30 running backs in the league, none of them averages below three yards per carry. What stands out about Samkon Gado is the 26 carries on Sunday. That’s more in one game than any running back this season for the Green Bay Packers. What stands out about Gado is the one touchdown, more than first-team running back Ahman Green scored all year. Gado plowed forward for some tough yards, the kind that eventually break down a defense with battering ram force. He didn’t fold once contact was made. He took a hit and kept plugging. Sure, he looked like a pinball bouncing off Pittsburgh defenders, but it usually took a horde of those guys to drag him down.Part of the problem lies in the fact that Green Bay’s offensive line was a swinging gate for the Steelers. They were smacking Gado around in the backfield.A point of monstrous upside for Gado is that, not only did he prove durable, but reliable. He didn’t fumble once. For the first time this season, Green Bay also had a running back rush for more than 60 yards. That’s quite an accomplishment against a top 10 defense ranked fourth against the run.Just give the guy a chance before picking on his low average, because this week he faces a middle-of-the-road Atlanta defense and should become the first Green Bay running back with 100 yards rushing this season. That’s when he’ll take care of that 2.6 average.

yup... thanks a Millian APples... some MBN (messagae Board Nazi) kiled the other @td Gado thread..THANKS!!! HERE'S TO APPLES!!!

From CBS

Sam Gado, RB GBNews: Sam Gado has six carries for 35 yards and two touchdowns midway through the first quarter of Week 10 at Atlanta.Analysis: Gado has been a tremendous find for Fantasy owners desperate for running back help. He has met and exceeded expectations with two solid performances in the past two weeks.

Apples what is your point?  You think his teammates and his coach are going to come out and say what it really is, which is a below average performance?  If he keeps that up he won't have a job in the NFL much longer.
I wasn't below average for the Packers. In fact, it was well above average. It was the best rushing performance all year for that Green Bay. Gado rushed for more yards yesterday than Ahman Green, or any other Packer RB, did in any game all year and he did it in his first game in the NFL. I'd say that's actually a pretty good way to start an NFL career.
His yards per carry were not above average. If Ahman Green put up those numbers yesterday people would be complaining again that he was a bust.Everyone wants to think they found a diamond in the rough with Gado but he will be just another Rondell Mealey.

his numbers look great.. how does he look carrying the rock??/how is his vision? does he break tackles? does he catch the ball well?

The Gado haters in this thread are having a difficult time separating NFL skills from Fantasy Football. He may not be the most talented back but hes the only one GB has and any starting RB in the NFL has a chance to put up good #s. Add in the fact that ATL has a bad run defense and this week it was pretty obvious Gado would be gold. When they start playing tougher defenses I dont expect him to be as good. But hes certainly worth a roster spot.

I think when Fisher is ready to play it will be some form of RBBC.
No, when Fisher is ready, it's his job. Also, I don't own Fisher in any league.
Hi Johnny,What makes you say that about Fisher?

J
:goodposting: Because I don't see it. Gado has really instilled some life into the running game. Before today I thought maybe, but after today, I don't think so. Gado is running nicely, picking up his blocks on blitzes, and catching the ball nicely out of the backfield.

his numbers look great.. how does he look carrying the rock??/

how is his vision? does he break tackles? does he catch the ball well?
good, yes. yes. he also runs with power and COVERS the ball up with both hands. now I've probably jinxed him and he'll fumble

I disagree. Gado runs hard, which I like, but I've never seen him break a tackle or make anyone miss.

You must've missed a few of his runs then. There was one that stands out in my mind. He was running to his right, met behind the line of scrimmage, did a little juke move and then slipped the leg tackle to plow forward for 8 yards before being ridden out of bounds. Turned a -1 rush into a +8.

Hi CM,I've seen him break tackles as he does run hard as you said. But he's not really a guy that makes people miss.

Oh My Gado! Packers Stun Falcons
Atlanta, GA -- Rookie Samkon Gado rushed for a career-high 103 yards and scored three touchdowns in his first NFL start, as Green Bay shocked Atlanta 33-25 at the Georgia Dome.Gado, an undrafted free agent forced into action due to injuries to Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport and Tony Fisher, had two rushing scores on 25 attempts and also caught a one-yard touchdown pass from Brett Favre in the first quarter.Favre completed 26-of-39 passes for 252 yards with one touchdown and an interception for the Packers (2-7), who put up 17 points off three Falcon fumbles to stop a three-game losing streak and gave a crushing blow to Atlanta's division title hopes. Donald Driver racked up 114 yards on 10 receptions in the win.Michael Vick threw for 203 yards and a pair of scores on 20-of-30 passing for the Falcons (6-3), who fell one game behind Carolina atop the NFC South standings. Vick also ran for a touchdown.Warrick Dunn ran for 76 yards on 17 carries and added six catches for 52 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown, in defeat.Atlanta had a three-game win streak halted and lost for only the third time in 14 home games in head coach Jim Mora Jr.'s two seasons.

Certainly glad I didn't pay any attention to the Dynamic Duo Gado haters, Fla\/\/ed & Yao Ming
Man, those guys did hate Gado. But I'm ready for some Gado, some Monday Night Gado!
Here are the highlights, I love it!Fla\/\/ed

Gado=One Hit Wonder

I watched the game and I'm a proud member of the Anti-Gado Man-Love Club.

(Previously Posted: Sherman knows what he has in Gado) --> A 3rd to 4th string RB that was pressed into duty due to injuries.

What is also amusing is that if Ahman Green averaged 2.3 yards a carry against Pitt we would have multiple threads about how worthless he is

His yards per carry were not above average. If Ahman Green put up those numbers yesterday people would be complaining again that he was a bust.

Everyone wants to think they found a diamond in the rough with Gado but he will be just another Rondell Mealey.

Please remember it took Gado 26 carries to get to 62 rushing yards.

Yao Ming

Gado's performance was poor no matter which way you choose to slice it. He didn't even look as good as Jonathan Wells today.

I watched the entire Packers game, as well as the Houston game. Gado is no Jonathan Wells. Gado had a few nice runs, but his overall performance was quite poor.

It would have been nice to see Gado break even ONE tackle. Dude went down like a sack of potatoes at the slightest contact

18 of Gado's 26 carries went for 2 yards or less. Very little tackle breaking on his part and overall a very poor performance.

Yes, but most of them face 8-man fronts the majority of the time. Somehow I don't think Gado required that to be contained.

The Nigerian looks "gassed" all the time. Did you notice the bloated belly on that chap?

Oh boy, that's what you get for talking Gado down to EVERYBODY without even considering the situation. You were set against Gado from the get-go without looking at the entire situation (Poor O-Line, 1st significant playing time, limited time with team, Great Run Def.) Take it down a notch next time and it won't be so embarrassing. Cheers! :banned:

I agree as well. Gado looks fast when running straight and excels quick in open field, but he's not real elusive. I'm very enthuisiastic by his hard running though. That shuffle pass TD reception he had was all him fighting for that goalline. He's not affraid to lower his pads and hit a hole hard and keep his feet moving.

 That last take was going great, but I gotta tell ya... I could really use more cowbell...

Check out the thread I just made thanking Red Apples for making the call on Gado with this thread.....Yao Ming says ANYBODY could have done that (including his dog)....I went off on him, but Joe B. deleted my reply and put one of his own in telling him to pipe down, which is cool.
