Game Thread W2 - Kansas City v Denver (1 Viewer)

Pathetic blocking for Tatum there. The lineman just laid down in front of the defender hoping he might stumble over his fat ### while making the tackle.

Ian Gold tackles Larry in the backfield. One of the few times a solo tackle has stopped Larry; he's looked powerful.

Im impressed with the Chiefs effort today. Everybody had them buried going into Denver today and they came to play. Herm has made them alot more physical. Huard should barely be in the league, let alone win a big road game

Larry has looked strong all day. Seems to run effortlessly. I love it. All the doom and gloom was quite premature. To go to the hostile Denver stadium and still put up 120+ and possibly more in OT, is solid.

This LJ owner is a little more relaxed now. The TD's will come. They gotta.

How is it that Gonzales can have 2 offensive pass interference penalties that don’t get called? Are the refs that blind? Denver got robbed penalty yardage twice today.

Phil Simms:

"You know what, if you're a defender, anytime you see Larry Johnson behind the Quarterback, be alert for the run"

Whew. Man this guy is SHARP!

Little exciting on the kickoff, Cobbs muffed it, booted it and barely recovered it.

T Bell for 2 to the right side

Plummer slant for 13 to Kircus

T Bell breaks one to KC territory

Like Phil Simms said, if you have the teamed pinned inside their own 20 in OT and still can't stop them from scoring, you don't deserve to win.
"Deserve to win". If you make it to overtime at home against a team you're favored to beat by 10.5 points who are starting DAMON HUARD at quarterback, you don't deserve to win.I'd be embarrassed as a Denver fan that it was that close. The Chiefs were supposed to get crushed.

Do the ref's get so distracted by Dante Hall that they miss all the clips and blocks in the back? I always see a ton of those in KC games...
There were no blocks in the back, and they were called for the clip (that didn't affect the play).Do they get so distracted by Javon Walker that they miss his blatant pushoffs?

I gave Plummer this last chance and he blew it. I know a week does not a QB make, and rarely does 2 weeks either, but I have him in a -3 INT league and Rex and Alex Smith are available. Jake the Mistake lost his job in my league after this game.

If I were Shanahan, he'd be losing his real job as well.

It was ugly, but a win is a win. The goal in the NFL is to win. The Broncos won the game. No, it wasn't pretty, but I will take looking like crap and winning over looking good and losing. And trust me, I am worried as hell about how crappy the Broncos have looked so far this season, but they are 1-1, which is a lot better than being 0-2.

Good for you. I doubt anyone cares, except for other bitter Chiefs fans.

To those that watched the game: Does Walker at least look like a solid part of the offense, with or without Plummer in there? Or should I start looking to dump Javon as well and cut my losses with this passing game?

It would be foolish to cut Walker. He made some nice catches in the 4th quarter and an important one in OT. The Broncos offense is bound to get on track sooner than later, and when it does, Walker is likely to start putting up some pretty good, at worst, numbers.

I was thinking trade him for something I can use.

If you can get someone to overpay for him, then I say go for it. When you said "dump Javon," I thought maybe you meant release him.

nah, i'd hold onto him unless you really need to trade him. i think plummer, rod and javon will be fine in a couple of weeks. at least wait until you get one good week out of him.

 Plummer is going to have to have several huge games for me to play him again. For now he's on the bench. I'm borderline on whether to cut him outright actually. I should have went with my gut and started Pennington this week. But no, I had to think it through too much. Rex Grossman is still available on the waiver wire and with my first two weeks I may actually have the first crack at him. :wall:
