Game Thread W7 - MNF Ravens / Jags (1 Viewer)

Lots of guts to go for the field goal when a miss puts the Ravens 20-25 yards from a long field goal attempt for the win.

Either that or Del Rio has Scobee on his FF team.

I play in a distance scoring league. Josh Scobee has 42 points this week. Seabass J tied the league record earlier this year with 49.

Indirectly (or maybe just directly -- you decide), a loss like this in the regular season is a significant reason why Flacco is tied for the most road playoff wins.

Losses in supposedly should win games like these are what makes your team a wild card. Hence, no home games in the playoffs.

That graphic demonstrates the only real difference between MJD and Rice was that MJD got 19 more carries. 8 carries for Rice! what a joke
tough to give him much more when you don't get a 1st down until midway through the 3rd quarter.
tough to get 1st downs when you only give Rice the ball 3 times in the first half

Trust me, I know I'm right. I watch this crap week after week after week. The only person in the NFL who can shut down Ray Rice is Cam Cameron. It feels like the guy is a threat to break a long one every time he touches the ball. Wouldn't you want to give it to him two or three times in a row - just ONE GD TIME - to see what might happen?

This game is Exhibit A for the argument that the NFL, despite vastly superior athleticism and modern technological advancements in uniforms, pads, turf, etc., is an inferior product to what was displayed in the 1970s and 1980s.

Is it the lack of continuity among team personnel, specifically on the offensive line?

Is the talent too diluted?

Are teams too specialized with a dozen or more offensive and defensive packages per team?

Is it the near complete absence of tackling from practices?

Specific to this year, is it the lockout?

Has the game gotten too complex for all but a handful of teams with "genius" gifted quarterbacks (the usual suspects)?

Whatever it is, there seem to be far more of these craptastic messterpieces and worst of all, they seem to be stacking them up in primetime.
