Another one.I’m sure I’ve heard Common People before but never really “listened”. It’s quite good and made my playlist.

Just popped in to post this. It's definitely worth a tumble if you like the 007 series and you were ever curious about the music. I thought it was really interesting that Duran Duran put in a bunch of effort to do a Bond theme, I had no idea. They were so popular at that time, as I recall, that I didn't think they would have had to put any effort into being selected.
Since the Spreadsheet is now active, here's the standings for the Charity Contest, including what everyone picked DrianMalcolm is currently in the lead!!!I think I'm ready to present v1.0 of

Not a lot to summarize at this point and @krista4 probably has all this info anyway but here it is in Spreadsheet form. I'll post updates more often when we get closer to the finish line.

Holy hell, I think I've heard this before. Did one of you degenerates take it in GP4?
I always thought Common People was a big hit in the States but it must have been more a cult song. So many people here and who I know IRL were seeming first exposed to it recently.

John Taylor - Has always been her favorite as long as I've known her. She says she chose "Notorious" in large part because of John's bassline
That Hugh Laurie is a great actor - I didn't even know he was British until years into House.
Idris Elba was English. One of my friends texted me about that earlier today.@Pip's Invitation I heard Jerry "The Geater" Blavat passed away. XPN's doing a salute to him tomorrow from 2 til 7
It's not quite as uplifting as John Lennon's cover of Mother.A bit too uplifting for me.Mother is so good. I think it might be my favorite Pink Floyd song of all time.

Reminder that you don't really want to be leading right now.

Duran Duran is awesome. They got a lot of **** for being big stars and marrying supermodels but sorry nerds, their music is still good. It’s possible to be cool, hot, popular and talented. So far at the top of my list of bands I need to listen to more based on my reactions to songs drafted are Duran Duran and Deep Purple.
I think the universe is telling me I need to learn bass or something - I am oddly fixated on bass guitar in songs drafted. It's not usually what I notice first.
Oh God, don’t tell that to Mr. Pedantic About The Smiths.I always thought Common People was a big hit in the States but it must have been more a cult song.
Other than the few years I had to drive my step-son to school I didn’t and still don’t really listen to hit radio. So if it didn’t get played during that 15 minutes, I could have missed it.I always thought Common People was a big hit in the States but it must have been more a cult song. So many people here and who I know IRL were seeming first exposed to it recently.
You ever listen to his show XPN runs on Saturday? Drove me crazy because it's obvious he lived/loved the music he played, but he talked all over the records he played. One of my friends texted me about that earlier today.@Pip's Invitation I heard Jerry "The Geater" Blavat passed away. XPN's doing a salute to him tomorrow from 2 til 7
I also got a call from my stepmother, who probably only has a few months to live, saying that she was thinking of me because she heard the news about David Crosby.

I just double checked your entry to make sure I didn't screw up - Son of a Preacher Man was indeed your pick.Huh, for some reason I thought I had Baba O'Reilly for the song. Maybe I had it written down with Son of a Preacher Man and went the other way. I do like the Wish You Were Here pick as well. I was trying to think of a Floyd song, but in the end could convince myself they would be popular enough overall.
Oh, hell - it wasn't meant for you to do that. Thanks though, I also double checked but like I posted I think I had stuff written down for the questions and had a couple I was debating on.I just double checked your entry to make sure I didn't screw up - Son of a Preacher Man was indeed your pick.Huh, for some reason I thought I had Baba O'Reilly for the song. It’s not looking too good for Zeppelin. They haven’t been picked yet.I'm the only one with Zep and Son of a Preacher Man, so I know what to "cheer" for.
Only 1 of those for meSeems like around 75% of the lists have Elton, The Who, Pink Floyd, U2, and David Bowie.

I whiffed on two of those, but I'm counting on some oddball picks to offset the war pigs.Seems like around 75% of the lists have Elton, The Who, Pink Floyd, U2, and David Bowie.
Oh yeah that makes sense.Think he's talking about the list of contest guesses.
Looks like Pink Floyd updated their avatar for the draft (and the 50th anniversary of Darkside)

And to think, the best version of Common People wasn't even eligible for this thread: Common People - William Shatner (feat. Joe Jackson)
Guys? I just enjoyed a Pink Floyd song. Might be pushing my luck listening to Jethro Tull now.
John Taylor - Has always been her favorite as long as I've known her. She says she chose "Notorious" in large part because of John's bassline
John was the dreamiest for sure.

Good luck... I tried, but it's not happening.
