GMen/Cowboy owners, beware of weather Sunday! (1 Viewer)

Anybody benching Romo?

I still have Big Ben, doubt that's any better.

Glennon and Tolzeine are both still oyt there though

@SigmundBloom: @MatthewBerryTMR one of my followers @JDOT_Z pointed out Eli threw 5 TDs in 30mph gusts 2012 wk 17 vs PHI - shrug - wish Eli playing better

Moral-Dont fret too much over weather for non-kickers

Passing yards may be down but there is always the short TD passes that are not affected by the wind. Romo likes to throw to Dez/Witten down at the goal line. If Eli turns it over in Giants territory, I see about 220 yards/2-3 TD's for Romo.

I'm going with Manning. Have Rivers but am going with Manning instead. Looking for the Manning/Cruz hookup for my team today.

Is the weather enough of a potential issue to consider another alternative with a more favorable matchup? I assume most of you using this thread don't have much of a plan B. At least that's the impression I get.
Keenum is the other option I'm considering.
I have the same decision. Leaning toward Keenum even though the winds figure to lessen due to the gusts, and the matchup is much more favorable even if the weather in NJ was not an issue at all.

All things being equal I'd start Romo over Keenum without question. I don't think all things are equal this week.

Alright so the weather/wind clearly affected the passing games. Romo serviceable. Witten great. And a whole lot of frustration elsewhere. Hope it didnt cost many here.

Romo - 250 yards and 2 TD's. Dallas gameplan - 38 passes and 18 runs.

Once again, weather is vastly over-rated.

Another example of vastly overrated weather panic. I got sucked in this time. Gotta remember to ignore the hype in the future.

Didn't cost me directly... My entire team took the day off and I went 4 for 4 in benching the wrong player. Likely cost me a week 14 bye but not a season ender as I'm still 8-4.

Yea the td's saved the day but you're lost if u didnt think the weather was a factor today. Any long pass was hooking badly.

No need to defend yourself. If people don't want to know about potentially difficult weather, they don't need to click on the thread.

I like to get any possible edge I can. Keep em coming.

romo, witten, dez, eli, brown, and bailey all had good games. Only guy who sucked was cruz. You were wrong which is fine, everyone is wrong at times. But to come in at the end of the day and say i told ya so completely ignroing all the results looks foolish.

No I was right. The wind was a factor. When u can't complete a pass > 20 yds down the field, which is a big part of Eli's game at least, then yes the conditions played a factor. Romo just had more intermediate targets to work with. And in the end, that was difference.

You guys are crazy. Meadowlands winds are like no other. I've seen wind gusts up to 45 mph! Good luck starting these guys. You're going to see a ton of Murray/Brown.
You never just said "weather is a factor". Of course weather is a factor. You implied that the weather would result in a bad passing game and lots of running. The Cowboys ended up passing the ball twice as much as they ran. And Romo had 250 passing yards and 2 TD's. You were wrong. Don't double down on it. Just own it and move on.

The same goes for me, too. No one reached through the Internet and made me bench Romo. I made the wrong call. I actually appreciate the posts of many here trying to be helpful; and in particular, the locals. My decisions across the board were putrid today, and it's all on me. If I can't own the bad decisions, then I have no right to own the good ones either.

That all said, I don't understand how anyone claiming the passing game would be anemic can say they made the right call when a QB goes for 250 yards and 2 TDs. It's okay to admit that you were wrong. We all miss many times a season. Sometimes the right process of thinking results in the wrong outcome because the fantasy bounces don't go your way. However, in order to improve with experience, these scenarios need to be analyzed. If you can look at the process and truly believe it was the right approach, then no changes are warranted. On the other hand, if you look and sees an overreaction to information (in this case, weather) may have occurred, then it's probably a wise move to take note of how today unfolded so that future decisions avoid the same faulty logic.

Check the game logs. Eli had 5 passes yesterday over 20 yards, his high water mark this season was week one where he had 6. Romo's game is not predicated as much by the deep ball as Eli's by your own admission, right? So we can discount his 250/2TD game as well? Please explain to us how you are right.

Check the game log? Lol. You didn't watch the game did u. He didnt complete 1 pass more then 20 yds (IN THE AIR)

Sigh

At least u left the glennon thread.

you are a fool. accept your ownage already. The weather had no significant impact on fantasy points. That is fact. go run back to your glennon thread now, and preach about glennon's deep ball accuracy. lol

Says the guy preaching Flacco's #1 deep ball or top 3 right? U were close. He's only dead last in Comp % over 20 yds. Get a clue and stop watching these games with a bag over your head. Or rather stop just reading game logs. Haha

U know I kid with you gamelogfan. But yea u need to watch some of these games, box scores don't tell the whole story. Oh and these 2 qb's combined for 700+ passing yds in their 1st meeting. Jus sayin. But yea it's semantics now. Everyone or mostly everyone was sayin the weather won't have an impact, start with confidence. Yada yada yada. Now, the weathee was a factor but not much of one. They combined for 400+ passing yds which is usually 1 of these guys in their typical matchup. Blast away. I also said the 2nd half weather would be less of an impact which it was. The 1st half clearly both teams affected.
