TBD I still have not gotten an itinerary from GM
TBD but somewhere in SE Michigan
GM is in town

Just landed in your frozen land of giant billboards, pawnshops and strip malls. I'm here until Dec 30. Next few days are family gatherings of like a million aunts, uncles, cousins so maybe next week or weekend? I can probably borrow a car or catch a ride. We'll be in Clarkston, not for from Pine Knobb.
I’m off until the 6th think all we have is the actual holidays so we’ll figure something out
Could have done something tomorrow but sounds like you’re busy, maybe Monday?

Monday could work. I'll be in touch.
I’ve gotta find that Big Mac video to show my wife so she doesn’t think I’m running out for some strange

Who the hell stays with family for 10 days over Christmas? Is your last name Griswald? :oldunsure:

I have avoided vsiting my wife's family for 5 years. I've been reminded of this a time or ten hundred, so I wasn't getting out of this one.

Her family is all tight and close and with airfare for 5 being $4K I wasn't going to just sign up for a long weekend.
I would pay $4k not to spend Christmas with my family

@General Malaise maybe this place for lunch? It’s a little bougie but might be a good midway spot.

.
Looks like a "brunch" style place that charges you $18 for eggs. That is an old Bill Burr bit.

Yeah, not sure I’ve ever paid a bill there, Ive usually gone for business and someone else picked up the tab

Unfortunately the midpoint between us is one of the most affluent areas in Michigan, not a lot of great casual options, going a little east or west opens things up though

You and I have both been divorced......I can't afford another one. You know this. $4K is what I'd pay my attorney just to take my phone call.....

I love my wife, but one time I was joking about how fun divorce would be, iirc it was on Father’s Day, regardless my dad was there, maybe I was complaining about our Amazon bill was

Anyway, my dad look at me and and says you’ve been married X years with 3 kids under Y, son, it would be cheaper to keep her

I learned recently that if you're into swinging you need to walk around a grocery store with an upside down pineapple in your shopping cart.

how do you explain to your wife how many pineapples you're buying?

Explaining to my 75 year old father in law why I was meeting @cosjobs, and who he was and how I knew him was fun. Especially since we were meeting on the side of the highway in central NC. Why? To support a white Fbg who had a Mexican food truck. His wife was from Mexico. That was awesome. I can’t remember who the Fbg with the food truck was. :bag:

And I was only in NC for a couple days and I chose to do this on one of them. :lmao:

See that's the other thing....you don't actually have to buy them. You just cruise the aisles like you're taking a Sunday stroll and after you collect a few digits you put the pineapple back. It's magical.

I wonder how many pineapples that have been used by swingers as bait were taken home and consumed by unsuspecting folks who just wanted a wholesome topping for their pizzas?

Being alive and present when a waiter at a Portland seafood restaurant called Cosjob's "Skipper" was one of my favorite lifetime moments.

Ric Flair called me “Captain” while boarding a Southwest flight from Birmingham to Tampa a few months ago. Not quite “Skipper”, but not bad.

Vacation off to a great start. About to leave the house at 5 am when I get an update that our flight is delayed by 12 hours. Had to rebook connecting flight, lose a day in the Maldives. Also lost money on a ride I had lined up and now have to drive and park for 10 days.

Detroit looking better.

I might have to fly economy class from Singapore to the Maldives.

So close...but yet still so far away. 4.5 hours for me, just bit too far to drive and then consume some adult beverages and drive back. Overnight is not in the cards :kicksrock:

Oh any of you fine folks looking for an 2021 MacBook Pro? I just listed my old on on Facebook and Offer up, but if one of you is interested PM me.

So I was reading some local history regarding the property we bought in the northwoods of Wisconsin. The road in front of my house is a dead end road that dead ends to some farm property and a gate. Most of my neighbors have large pieces of property - anywhere from 20 - 100 acres.

The farm that is on the end of this road apparently was a distillery put in place during Prohibition by Al Capone. The farm had 3 entry/exit points, one of which was this road, so they could come in one road and leave by another to ward off being detected. This was one of the largest operations in the midwest and the product was shipped back to mainly Milwaukee and Chicago. Capone himself came up here from time to time, so he likely used the same road I live on.

The local farmers were employed there back in that time, including the ancestors of my neighbors who still own the farmland around there. Pretty interesting factoid.

Yeah, the guy who wrote the book lives in town. I’ve met a few of his kin at the bar down the road from my house. They own a ton of land around me.

Merry Christmas Eve! Turns out this is way better than Detroit.
You made it!

When you have a sec, you'll have to share which island(s)/resort(s) you went to.

I'd stab one of you fools to go back there... I mean- Merry Christmas!
i volunteer as tribute

but make it snappy before this Christmas dinner kills me
Oh, look at you.

Signed,
Still at the office dreading the train ride down to DC this evening to spend the holidays with you-know-what-im-sayin' inlaws.
