GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (15 Viewers)

My doctor has declared me "surprisingly healthy". I am 43 years in on drinking and doing drugs every day. My parents are pushing the century mark.

Genetics help. I’m quite healthy but am prohibited from cutting loose without repercussions. I’m really glad I found out I only had one kidney when I was 46. That knowledge would have curtailed a lot of stupidity/fun in my youth/middle age. 😂

If I found out at 46 that I only had one kidney, I guarantee that it would turn out that my parents had sold my other one when I was a kid.

I eat like absolute crap and my bloodwork always comes back fine during my yearly physicals. I don't do drugs every day nor am I a daily drinker, but I definitely partake. My dad lived until his early 80's, my mom's about to hit 80 and the only one of my grandparents to die young (mid-60's) was my grampa on my mom's side, only because he smoked a pack of cigarettes on the daily.

Ive noticed physical changes across the board despite lifestyle remaining pretty much unchanged once i passed 55. Before that, i thought...yeah- im good to go with this aging stuff. Now...operation geezer next steps needs to happy pdq. I mentioned some of these to my Dr during the last physical as if there were options to he explored...nope. youre just getting older- deal with it.

Not really a Cowboys fan and/or didn't really follow the guy's career, but hearing about Marshawn Kneeland's suicide has me gloomy today.

The guy had just made a huge impact play on Sunday and then ended his life after a police pursuit here this morning. Goes to show you never know what a person is going through mentally and emotionally. What a sad way for such a young soul to go.

Please reach out to a mental health professional - or heck, even a friend or eBuddy here - if you're struggling.

Shout to our buddy @General Malaise who lost his Dad this week.

I'm sorry, GB. That's super tough.

Much love.
GM, sorry for your loss. Your Dad raised a good man and it shows in what a good father you are. I'll always be indebted to you for your guidance and support through my divorce, and how much it meant to me as a father to Roverkid. It's a testament to your Dad.

I bought lithium ion jump starters for all four vehicles at my house a while ago. Used one of them about 2 weeks ago.

Today I was going to pull my boat out of the water for the season, but suspected that the battery might be dead so I went to grab a jump starter out of one of the cars. Out of the four I bought, there is only one left. The rest were either borrowed, lost, or misplaced somehow. I also forgot to charge the one I used to jump my daughter's car a couple weeks back, so it was dead.

I continue to amaze myself with my own stupidity. Even when I plan ahead, I still manage to fail.
