GM's thread about nothing (23 Viewers)

So I'm one of 4 left in my local survivor pool. I've used NE, DET, PIT, TB, GB, NYJ, NOThere's likely some blowouts this week:Bal v. AZTen v. IndyNYG v. MiamiSF v. ClevelandHou v. JaxThoughts?
Appreciate the thoughts. I'm going to rule out San Fran; I don't think Cleveland is all that stinky. Also not taking Tennessee, Indy may be awful but Ten isn't anything great either, and Indy will at least be asked to show some pride.I like Baltimore but I don't like picking teams coming off a short week. That leaves Giants or Texans. First instinct was Texans but Miami is godawful. Might have to flip a coin.
Giants. They are coming off the bye (which, statistically, actually means little but in this case Nicks' healed up a bit) and Miami is worse at home than on the road. Plus Houston has nicer matchups to be used later on.

About to do a phone screen for an undergrad intern and, on his resume, the kids lists "The Society for Creative Anachonism" in his affiliations section. Is that really something you want to put on your resume?
That's the problem with geeks like that...they think they're cool/normal.I have a friend of mine that is actually a pretty cool dude. His one flaw is that he does that SCA stuff.

I was watching the Purdue-Illinois game, and I couldn't help but observe that one of the Purdue cheerleaders is bigger than two of their starting LBs. Starting to understand why my GB JTG moved to Jersey.
"ouch"are you sure she wasn't a band retrard?
Technically these broadsare in the band.Band dorks don't count imo.
Nope. cheerleader

Anyone here a fan of Chimichurri? It is one of my favorite sauces. I recently marinaded shrimp overnight in it. Results: :moneybag:
I'm listening...
Make skirt steak with it as a topping, but it's great as a marinade on most proteins too. I have even used it on a sort of Argentinian pizza with strips of skirt steak, red onions, and queso fresco. Obligatory pic.
I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter or recipe book. Where can I get this...Chimichurri?
You can buy it at most upscale grocers, but I always make mine fresh, which is really easy. I'll post the recipe later.
Please do.
I wanted to bump the FBG's Kitchen: The Blog thread as it is really good and has been neglected for a while so as promised, here is the link to my Chimichurri recipe.

Just finished dinner. We asked the waitress what the GC was good for and she replied "looks like everything, I say take them for all they're worth". On J&C 5, 4 glasses of wine for Mrs. SLB plus a sampler of every appetizer, cauliflower and curry soup and braised pork stomach. O.M.G. I may be outside right now engaging in illegal active.

But Baltimore is coming off a bad loss and the defense will be pi$$ed facing a team that has to cross 2 timezones and whose QB doesn't like pressure.

Let's go Cards!

Ok, I honestly don't care, but Bob is having such a great time. It'd be a shame if it ended bad.

:goodposting: Balt is going to roll Arz.

I may be a little buzzed or just caught up in the spirit, but the sight of two strangers shaking hands and introducing themselves at a baseball game makes me feel good about life and things in general.

Also, I can't even imagine Ron Washington on cocaine. He's such a high-strung, animated dude. He must just explode and turn into a cartoon character.

no kidding. think maybe it has the same chemical effect as ridalin (sp?) does on non-ADD people in that it has the opposite of the intended effect? Also, I'd love to have seen Josh Hamilton hit BP coked up.

The Giants are also notorious for ####ting the bed on any given Sunday.
:goodposting: Seattle game this season not a concern for any Giant backers? That was IN NYC folks...
I try approach those pick 'ems by being a bit riskier to pay off in the end - essentially, looking several weeks down the line. After this week, the giants' schedule gets pretty brutal. Houston has some softies coming up and Baltimore is good enough you can consider riding them later as the weeks wind down. I agree NYG isn't the safest play this week, but I think they give him the best chance to win the whole thing. I think he goes:Week 8: NYGWeek 9: Houston (plays Cle)Week 10: Baltimore (plays Seattle)
