GM's thread about nothing (23 Viewers)

Just booked a beerwench/draft board girl for our draft.

Please rate her.
Wow. We've always talked about this, but never gone through with it.
same here. posted one craiglist ad, and the responses were kind of lame. changed the wording a bit a couple days later and got a ton of responses from the type of girls we're looking for (not hookers or strippers--just fun chicks willing to wear a thong, dance around, fill drinks, etc).
how much are you paying her?
$200 for 3 hour draft.
How much if she ends up pregnant?

I'll demand a refund.

Icon is nice, but he defriended me on facebook.
I defriended some people a while back. I took a shuke-esque stance on Facebook, except I only defriended females that I only knew through the innerwebs. I felt bad about it and hope I didn't hurt any feelings. :sadbanana:
Not at all, dickmitten.
You live in the same town, right? You've got corn. He has a hole. There's no reason this couldn't work itself out.

BTW, Frosti, "Krippling" is not the same as "Hippling". I read through the rest of the thread first so that I can consolidate replies--see my immediately first reply to Bob Sacamano, for instance--and make sure I'm not making the same comment that's already been made (unless I'm just agreeing). Hippling is someone going back in time and not taking into account the subsequent posts.
But I'm like 30 pages behind.Does this get a pass? :bag:

I'd allow it, but I'm not the thread owner.

Well I'm not THAT desperate to be his Facebook friend. ;)

I still want to read from the beginning. Seems like War and Peace at this point.
Strongly encourage you to do this; first 35 pages are the stuff of legend. When you get to the part where GM is on his wedding week and he's smoking a cigar at 2 a.m. in Lake Orion, Michigan, and waxing poetic about how he's the luckiest man alive...shut it down and FF to the end. But the 35 pages up until that sappy #### is pretty awesome.

So as I try and find the right time to tell my wife that we are done and I want a divorce, I come home to this sharp left turn:My wife got info on a new job within her company that she would be a shoe-in to get and it's what she really wants to do. The job is in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She REALLY wants to move up there. She spent all night reading up on Green Bay and sending me emails of houses for sale. One, this is my typical wife. When things are bad, she does not stay and fight, she flies. New job, new house, new state. She lives for starting over. Two, this is also my typical wife. She sees how nice Green Bay is TODAY, she does not think about the 13 months a year when it is balls freezing cold. She also doesn't think about what I would do for a job. She doesn't even begin to think about the fact that I'm not a Packers fan. It's all about her.FML.
Maybe this is opportunity? How far from your current location? Close enough to make split custody work? (you do have kids, right?)
Yeah, Dallas and Green Bay aren't the closest of locations. And yes, two kids. If no kids, it's a slam dunk. Go and enjoy freezing your ### off. But kids make things a bit more tricky.
They live with you during the school year and with her during the summer.
This is what we do (well, actually the reverse) with my oldest. She has to deal with all the PITA stuff during the school year, I get to go on vacations and hang out on the beach with him.. I go there Michigan) about four times for weekends during the school year, he comes here for Thanksgiving, New Year's and Spring Break. Then he comes he for 10 weeks (mid-June to late August) for the summer.Have seen a couple more comments from you subsequent to this Bogart...GD man, don't back down from the plan. You're gonna be a lot happier (IMO) if you follow through on your intentions to reboot.Anyway, GL GB.

I've been outside the tubes all day, so I missed the Jim11 race-baiting thread that must have gotten deleted. Saw references to it here and a couple more outside GMTAN. Was it that bad/good?

Cliffs notes?

The White Sox's third baseman Brent Morel just made a hell of a play against the Twins and all I could wonder was who the hell taught that guy history?

Replace "Nick" with "White" in my most recent thread title, and that's basically the gist of his argument. It was some article about crazy insane black people rampaging through a state fair in Wisconsin. And Hammer was playing there, but I don't think that had anything to do with it.

Bogart - watch the Phineas and Ferb movie yet? I only caught a few bits and pieces of the first half but it was pretty good. I don't want to spoil it for you, but

I saw where Perry revealed himself as a secret agent to P&F. Doofenschmirtz still didn't get who he was because he wasn't wearing a hat

...a state fair in Wisconsin.

:lmao: Hammer playing the fair circuit. Man, that's got to be rock bottom, eh?

I've only seen two concerts at fairs/festivals. Saw Eddie Money (long after he was popular) at the Ionia Free Fair, which is the biggest fair in west Michigan. Got backstage passes (he was staying at a resort my sister was a manager for at the time). Helluva nice guy.

ETA: Ionia. FM. Iona is in NY.

Few years after that I found myself in Ontonagon, Michigan, during their Labor Day festival. If you're not familiar with Michigan, basically every city, town, village or dense unincorporated area has a festival. There's like 1,000 small town festivals during the year. A few pack in 50 or 100 K, but most are podunk affairs. Like Ontonagon Labor Festival - small parade, beauty pagent, three-on-three Gus Macker style ball tourney, pub crawl. BFD. At the end of said pub crawl, walked into a packed dive, and there was Eddie Rabbitt. Mr. "I Love a Rainy Night". Great show, but dang, how do you go from writing #1 songs for Elvis to playing in the Porcupine Mountains of the U.P. Seriously, the only reason Yoopers live up there is because they hate being around people.

But I miss those silly small town festivals. Been nostalgic for Michigan all summer.

Minnesota is like this. I've been to so many of these various festivals and they're all awesome in their own way. Best is Little Canada's Canadian Days (kitten ball tournament). Runner-up is Olivia's Corn Days (corn on the cob eating contest). Third place would be Kettle River's Ma and Pa Kettle Days, just for the simplicity - it's a parade and a then a beer garden.

we wouldn't bother to run an ad if we needed a stripper in vegas.

"Red Dawn" reference that went wayyyy over my daughter's head.

Just googled ### pennies. Almost all the results were a clip to that old Upright Citizens Brigade clip, which I'd seen. You guys acted like there were groups of people devoted to actually doing this.

:hifive:

Top 3 Phineas and Ferb Moments:

1. When Perry escapes the trap by just slipping his arms out because the trap is too big

2. Doof: "A Teenage Girl!" :puts hat on: "Perry the teenage girl!"

3. The Entire Jaws episode

Oh, and to get out ahead of questions, all you really need to know is that Phineas and Ferb is a show kids and dads love and mom's hate.

I have had that movie sitting on my shelf for years; never watched it.
it's horrible. don't bother.
Almost got me with this one.
Agreed. Some of the worst bait this board's ever seen.
if i want to be frightened by rabbits i'll watch Gummo, slim
I think Harvey is more your speed, Dutch.

I want to go to Jos A Banks and buy matching suits with Shuke. Then we can watch Big Brother together in our new suits. Any one else?

Watched this with my 7 year old tonight. Buford had a couple great lines ("platyposterior") but the hat gag was the best.

### ####... i have got to stop reading political posts. all they do is piss me off - trolls, tools and a-holes....

on the plus side the wife said she wanted to go the range saturday. nothing like sending several hundred rounds of .223, .308, .38, 9mm,.380 and 12 gauge downrange at those ´hi there´ bear targets (the growling bear with the the right paw raised) to relive pent angst ... the raised paw, eyes, mouth and chest make great targets... she shoots everything except the .308 and 12 gauge (though she has and can if needed - doesn´t like the recoil so she shoots them every 3rd/4th time)... she loves the laser on her .223 and .380. been married 32 years and she is the light of my life...

need to take her wild hog hunting in south georgia... bacon!!!

For awhile I was putting people on ignore if they annoyed me in one of those thread. Just not worth the aggravation.I had to stop fairly quickly, though, because the list was getting ridiculously long. But now I'm in-n-out of those threads lickety split, because now all I have to read is cap'n obvs explaining that yes, ###### and wangster are offensive and not protected under the 1st Amendment.

Need some help from any of you XBOX live/Wii nerds out there. I use XBOX live gold only for the netflix streaming access. The Gold costs about $50 a month. I can get a used Wii out there for $75, and I'm pretty positive you get free access to netflix streaming (I realize I have to for the netflix subscription)...plus, I'll have a Wii.

Am I missing anything?

Pirate-themed Birthday Party today for our neighbors 4 year old. Mrs BL and the Princess are staying the whole 3 friggin' hours; #1 son and I have a conflicting tee time (wat? dang, sorry 'bout that). But I am going just long enough to pickup my felt pirate hat...you can never have too many of those.

It's on the agenda for this weekend.

Everything is correct, except Xbox Gold is 50 bucks for the year, not month.I personally prefer the Xbox version of Netflix better (Xbox in living room, Wii in bedroom) and I'm not sure if Wii does the Netflix in HD.

Thx...yeah, obviously a year vs. a month. Hmm...the HD might be a deal breaker.

GM - did you masturbate in the middle of the night when you made the chicken drumsticks or the chicken thighs? I'm making drumsticks using your recipe and want to make sure I do it right.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. I've tried to watch that movie since finding out that people I like actually enjoyed it. It didn't help. I read Andy Dufresne's thread and it only gets worse with the "you have to read this other book about time travel to really understand it" explanation. Please tell me you guys are kidding about liking the time travelling psycho kid talks to the evil bunny movie.

$200 for 3 hour draft.
For $200 she better give me drafting advice too.

really? $200 for 3 hours, with 10 guys at the draft. Just under $7/hour per person. I'd expect to be paying a lot more than that just tipping a random waitress at a bar.
