I was clearing out some brush yesterday afternoon and felt myself get stung on the bicep by something. Could see the little red hole and a little swelling around it at the time, but I'm not allergic, so whatever.

Today I have the most remarkable bicep. I mean, the swelling on this thing gives me more definition than I've had in two years.

I also have a spider bite on the back of my neck, right at the brain stem (imo), but other than the tumor-like swelling, it seems to be harmless thus far.

When I first started reading that, I thought it was charvik posting for some reason and I kept wondering why his mother lived in Florida and why he was driving home to North Carolina.

X, I would've called on your trip, and you could've called me. Who else is going to tell you how to deal with a cat attack? Granted, I don't think you had a potato sack and a cinder block in your rental car.

Any Star Wars or GI Joe nerds here? Been going though some old boxes of stuff in my parent's attic and found a whole bunch of my brother's toys old SW/GIJ stuff. I told him I'd try to look them up online to see if they were worth anything. Problem is, I hated Star Wars and GI Joe; so I don't have any reference on how to look any of this up. I figured someone here can help. Once I get them all sorted, I'll post some pics; but in the meantime if anyone can give me any guidance I'd appreciate it.

I'm guessing they're not in their original packages. Just search ebay for "original star wars figures loose lot" of variants of that. Look at completed auctions to see value.

I seem to recall someone else, maybe in this very thread, asking what type of leash to use for walking a cat. I thought it might have even been Truck who asked or answered the question but can't remember for sure now.I never heard of it otherwise. I'm sure I would have left the cat in the carrier since the ride wasn't that long.

The most awesomest cat I ever owned was one of those cats that's half dog. He'd play fetch, crawl up on you the minute you got home, constantly wanted to wrestle. Just an awesome cat. And he always wanted to be outside, but for a while when my wife and I moved in with my parents when we were between houses they didn't have a fenced yard and if we just let him go he'd be gone for at least a full day and my wife didn't like that so we thought we'd compromise. We got him a "cat leash" and decided to take him for a walk.He spent the entire 3 minutes we had the leash on him trying to destroy it as if it was a small child and he was a hammer. And then when we realized it wasn't going to work my wife went to take it off of him and he jumped at her face with claws ablaze like Freddy Krueger, which caused her to shriek and drop the leash. At which point Merlin took off like a slave who made it to the north. This made me, of course, try to be the hero and so I'm chasing him down the street, through the park, and into the neighbor's yard. Luckily the handle of the leash thing was this big contraption thing which stored the leash in it like some kind of tube storing string device and was big enough to not only slow him down so I could keep up but also big enough so when he tried to hide under the neighbor's deck it got suck on the outside. So then here I am trying to pull the cat out by the leash using this giant contraption while he digs his claws in the ground and screams as if he's giving birth while being stabbed with a pointy screwdriver. Eventually my immense strength wins out and I end up carrying a crying, screaming, hissing ball of pure anger home (not unlike my wife's 30th birthday) and arrive to applause and with an incredible amount of scratches all over my body (again, like the wife's 30th).So yeah, the whole leash on a cat thing is no good.

When we "evacuated" twenty miles up the road for Hurricane Rita, I let the cat loose in the car for the ten-hour ride. Big mistake. When we finally got to our destination he had himself wedged up under the driver's seat and had the wiring harness wrapped around himself so it was impossible to extricate him without voiding the car warranty.

For their own, and your well-being, cats need to be in a cage.

My buddy's wife decided she was going to bring their two cats to the condo for the weekend of my long fishing trip I mentioned earlier in the thread, back around the 4th of July. I talked to her on the phone and while she left 45 minutes earlier than me, we arrived at the same time considering it was her and two teenage girls in the car with her for the trip. I got out of the truck, started to collect my things, and was alarmed to hear screaming and quite a commotion I quickly realized was coming from them. Apparently one of the cats evacuated their bowels in the cage at the very end of the 4 hour trip. Not a good scene.

The only way I'm ever owning a cat is if I live in the country and need mouse control. My mom moved off to the sticks outside of Birmingham when I went off to college and the cats were a welcomed addition to the family. Trouble was, she bought two female cats and long story short, my stepfather is not allowed to drop animals off at the shelter anymore. Get your animals spayed and neutered.

everyone with an income below 500k fishes in the south (black, white, stripped, rainbow - it doesn´t matter) .... deion sanders was busted for fishing in a retention pond on the florida turnpike... it is what we do... of course i prefer an generator or a 1/4 stick of tnt. rods/poles are so spotty and take too long... it is all about the eating... fried is best... with some hushpuppies, onions and beer...fries and slaw optional...
