Why is it my problems get minimized here? I have to have surgery on both feet and take on an unexpected car payment, jerkfaces.

Maybe you can sell your feet to pay for the car. Or sell the car to pay for the feet. Either way, it'd be funny to see someone work the pedals with ankle stumps.

Supposed to have like an all time high of 103 here with a "heat index" of something like 115. So what am I doing? Going camping, of course.

Taking the son and going with a buddy and his kids, luckily he has a camper with AC. But still, that is going to be a hell of a time in the sun all day then cooking campfire pies over an open flame when it's a cool 90 degrees tomorrow night.

Please expound upon 'campfire pies' concept. Sounds tasty.

I assume he's talking about what we call Pudgie Pies, made with a simple pie iron. They're awesome. All you need is bread, butter and whatever fillings you want. I made a pizza one, ham and cheese one and followed it up with a chocolate, Reeses cup and banana for dessert.

Really? Even if you use a PIE iron and use PIE filling?

it's two pieces of bread with stuff in the middle. that's a sandwich, regardless of the name of the implement you're using to heat it up. you could call that thing a lear jet tin, and you'd still just be making a hot sandwich, not a lear jet.

We've been through this before. If the bread is sealed all the way around the perimeter, it's a pie.

Where do these fall?

Definitely a pie. I am pretty sure we covered this in October of '11.

If it helps, I'm sorry to hear about this. Sounds like you've got a lot of other things on your plate right now, with your wife's migraines and your son's new anxieties. New car aside, it seems you are bearing a lot of burdens at home and I can't imagine that it will be easy for you to be laid up after 1 or 2 surgeries.

Thanks. I really don't know what would be the optimum time to get the surgeries done and which I would do first. I am guessing do the easier one in the fall and hopefully put the more complicated one off until early next year. Only thing I am worried about is getting around on crutches if we have a bad winter.

My best friend in HS inherited his sister's white VW Cabriolet and I always felt uncomfortable driving around in it, especially with the tops down. Just found out in Feb when I went back to Dallas that my buddy came out of the closet. SURPRISE!
