Planning on driving up from the Bay Area next week (0ct 31-Nov 4) for a little getaway with a lady friend. Options are either: Portland or Seattle.

We've been to LA, Vegas, etc a bunch of times so looking to explore a different city. Another more local option is Santa Cruz/Monterey trip.

What do you guys think is a better trip. Keep in mind we'd have to drive since this is a last minute trip type deal (Portland ~12 hours, Seattle ~ 15 hrs).
