Her parents referred to the investigation as "wholly inadequate", but that's probably a little off, right? I think Deadspin's all for anything that's going to cause a ruckus or get pageclicks. For better or worse.
But they're just passing along and highlighting parts of a story. Does the reporter in the orginal story, a ND alum, have an axe to grind? I think that's a better question.
So let's say she was spurned by this guy, and that led to her making false accusations. Against a player on a school's football team that she's a fan of. The school drags their feet on her false allegations, so she kills herself? Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Also worth noting that the procedures by which ND "thoroughly vetted" Seeberg's case have been changed in a settlement with the US DOE, so as to avoid losing Title IX funds.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me it was because growing up they sucked but were always talked about and shown on TV. I never understood it until later and once I found about it was because of religion I had another reason to dislike them.

Growing up in the 70s, I was inundated with ND. Double whammy of them being good and no cable (so they were often the only game on TV and were on EVERY week). I come by it honestly, at least, as I heard my dad use more curse words (all variations on "those Catholic #####") than he did about any other team.

Somebody's pet Cockatoo got out of the house. How do I know this? On my walk this morning I walked up on a young Red Tailed hawk eating it. A few minutes later a bulldog decided to follow us. When I told him "no" and to go home, it began to growl. I considered making choclates but decided to hold my ground. Then it just turned around and ran away at full speed. Odd.
