Lol, sup Sonny. I was thinking about you the other day...we used to have some great early morning "conversations". Of course, I was just getting to work and you were just getting home :lmao:
I remember that, funny ####. As a matter of fact, never did hit the hay last night, this is like old times. Too bad you retired from the occasional friendly gentlemans wager thread... GO FALCONERS!

You need to have all plans vetted by me first.

He lost, sorry. Was way back and kept coming, will keep getting better as the distance increases but I woulda liked to have seen more today. Winner (Demonic) was a highly regarded favorite in his first start.

I'm willing to blame the rail

in its entirety. I bet you can't make it all the way through.

Random stuff...Wife broke her tailbone this week. She's having a lot of trouble getting around. What sucks is that she is in a lot of pain and has to take something for it. I think I've documented here in the last six months that her previous neurologist was really overprescribing narcotics for her so we switched to a new doctor who doesn't believe in them. She has had a very tough road and now I feel this is a setback. Zach and I worked on his Pinewood Derby car. Inhaled a lot of melting lead fumes and sprayed paint in my eye. #### yea.Speaking of scouts, one if his requirements for his current badge is "Find out how you can help your church, synagogue, temple, etc." We don't go to church. I'm not really sure how to address this.

Ugh, sorry to hear GB. Knowing your son, just insert GABP for "church, synagogue, etc." and call it good

What rank is he? We don't really go either, maybe 2-3 times a year and a week of VBS in the summer tops, but I thought there were always options to pick and choose among the requirements to where you could kind of skirt around most of that without impacting advancement to the next rank. You didn't have to do every activity to meet the requirements for an activity pin.Now th at he is in Boy Scouts, outside of a short, generic prayer when they start their meetings, the religious aspects are really low key for his troop.

Second year so he's working on his Wolf badge. There are 12 "achievements" in the book, each broken up into activities/requirements. Some of the achievements allow to pick a minimum to to do, but most require all, including achievement 11, "Duty to God".My wife and I have both been in an "uncertain" stage for a number of years, bording on atheism. But we don't cram anything down our kids' throats. He believes in God and that's fine with us, we just don't go to church. So I'm very unsure what to do here.

Church of GMTAN FTW

I think we did/talked about the first three parts for my son, and then either talked about ideas for that last part, or counted him helping me drop off a bunch of clothes for the church rummage sale and donating our aluminum cans as step four.At that point I was more than comfortable signing my son's book that that step was complete. After all, it's supposed to be about learning, and Do Your Best and all that, and in my eyes he'd more than surpassed my religious expectations of him.In other words, just sign it, then make him hand sand that derby car for a couple extra hours as penance.

This sounds like a plan. Find a church with a food pantry or clothes closet and donate some stuff.

:( Sorry to hear this.Despite the paint fumes, working on a pinewood derby car sounds like one of those "reasons you become a parent" moments--in other words, awesome.

Just got back from Boston. Feel like I did a middling to bad job on that interview. I was tired, hungover, just not feeling it. Unfortunately the further along I got into the day, the more interested I was in the job and the more it seemed like a great fit. I figured all of this out too late, though. :(

File under horrible things that 2 year olds like

At least the Magic the Gathering nerds (self included for a while) actually played by the actual rules.i don't think I've ever seen kids do more than read the numbers on the cards and look at the artwork for Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. Even pogs had some discernible structure.

FarFetch'd background and powersApparently the bird always carries the green onion around and will beat the #### out of you with it if required. If he gets hungry, he eats it.

Congrats on your kid - if he can follow the 3 feet of battle engagement rules described, he can easily tackle nuclear chemistry or whatever he wants to take on. I did enjoy the IMDB-type background and list of roles/appearances of this engaging character.

Looks like SLB and I pushed out yesterday.

Uruk's drunk bets were unconfirmed since he was betting my side on part of them and never straightened it out.

Today vs. StlB I have

HOU + 10

SEA +3

for 25 each.

I will accept up to 125 more in wagers with me taking either of those two teams. To bet me you will need to take NE and/or Atl.
What kind of lines do I get?
See those numbers next to the teams?
Okay, I'm in for NE -10.

I'm too drunk to find the link, but how is it that no one has listed "I think you'd like it" by travolta and Olivia newton John?

I am ordained minister of some online church. I'm sure there are hundreds on your area that would be willing to help you find a useful project for your boy without any religious indoctrination, but with the requisite stuff you'd need for him to get his badge. Or just call a Unitarian church and tell them your dilemma. I'm sure that they would be similarly accommodating.

Write them a letter/email explaining this. They will hopefully view you in a more empathetic, positive framework. Sounds as if you have nothing to lose, only a chance to be there in an even better position than your current one.

Dear Prospective Employer,Thank you for the opportunity to interview with your firm. I was not completely sold on this job going in, so I went ahead and got fit-shaced the night before. You may have noticed I was a bit hung over early in the day (I didn't call anyone a dickmitten, did I?), but did you see how I rallied in the afternoon? That's gotta count for something, right?! Rest assured, this will probably not happen too often once you hire me. As my good friends from the innernets can attest, I am very reliable. I think you will find my references to be impeccable, though be forewarned that Julio's messages can be a little confusing at first. Looking forward to the next round of interviews.YIC,K
