There was a shooting at the Grocery store a half mile from my house last night. Some random dude just firing at cars. Killed a ten-year old boy and injured two other people. And last night the wife asked if I'd go get some wine, and one of the two places I usually go is right next to that grocery store, but I went to the other one last night. Wife's pretty freaked out.

Not to somber up the thread, but while we're talking crazies with guns, there was a great story in the latest New Yorker. It's about a professor who gunned down a faculty meeting in 2010. Everyone wanted to blame the insane conditions in higher ed, but it turns out she also shot her brother dead when she was 21...and got away with it. Sounds like a morbid tale, but it reads like a crime thriller.

To me the zombie genre has expectations of a certain amount of campiness, but this show seems to try to add "realism" to the mix. I like it and I rip the bad writing/acting/storyline all of the time. To me it's gotten so bad it's kind of good.
