GM's thread about nothing (52 Viewers)

Tornado Watch issued for basically all of Chicagoland. Be safe, fellow Illinoisans.
Here too. Half the sky is bright and sunny, the other is almost black.
Be sure to stock up on Whiskey and take cover Bob
Sirens just went off all over Milwaukee too. Calm skies for now
Cards play the Brewers in Milwaukee July 11,12,13. You in?
Absolutely. Book it.

Too bad it isn't the week earlier so you could attend the aswesomeness that is Summerfest
 Anybody else?

Furley, nice to see you again.

Other random things:

My Dad busted his nut bad trying to move something too heavy. I've never seen him in this much pain. Dang.

There was rezoning done on the land behind my house. None of the trees will be touched and the land behind it will stay the same. I can't tell you how happy I am about this. Plus there will be three bar (probably chain crappy) restaurants put in within a 10 minute walking distance of my house. Pretty happy all around.

My former biggest client's lawyer sees things the same as mine. We're in the right here. As of Friday I was told they will either run out the next two years of the contract or pay us off. We'll see.
Good luck to your pops GB.

Styrker, where should we stay? I'm booking a room today.
Jeebus, you're on top of things.

I was going to post that if this has legs I would do some digging for everyone. What are you looking to spend per night? Need any special accommodations (i.e. hot tub, bottle of Jack on the pillow etc)?

I like to pull the trigger when I'm in the mood or else I might never do it.

As far as special accommodations, nothing really. Other than a swimming pool not being on the property. Or owls. No owls please.

Efforting....

Airport area where I live is about 10 minutes south of downtown. Stadium and casino another 5 minutes west. Unfortunately the casino hotel won't be done until fall of '14.

Want downtown? Just outside? Get any rewards points for certain chains?

Shoot, I don't know. Closest I've been to Milwaukee was drinking Beast Light in HS.

I was thinking something close to the staduim though. Unless that's a rapey area.

Guys & gals? Like Bob, I will book this fukker now. It would be nice if we had a gathering place to eat drink and be Mary, though.

Damn. Be safe all my tornado alley living iBuddies. :(
I would love to visit you and your town one day but from I'm pretty sure people throw fish at you all the time. At least that's my conclusion courtesy of the NFL.
I don't know why, but :lmao:
I mean, I just picture unsuspecting people walking down the street and getting hit in the head by fish. I'm nearly in tears.
:lmao: :lmao: Exactly what I was thinking.

I would prefer to not drive the entire time we're there if possible.
This is an intelligent man. I would prefer if neither of us drove - ever
To be honest, I would probably just make Mrs. SLB drive so we're cool.
Milwaukee is pretty small. It seems like it's about a $20 cab ride to and from anywhere. You'll have to drive to the stadium though. Brewers tailgating is a must-do. I can organize that as we get closer.

But downtown is where the action is so I'd recommend staying there if you don't want to drive much.

Any geologists in here?

I found this rock walking the other day. It was amongst the rubble from the new highway they are building which is why it caught my eye. The dug down about 50 feet, it looks like to bedrock? and then some, and this thing was sitting among everything they chiseled out. I was hoping it would be really heavy when I picked it up but nope. It isn't particular smooth like a glacier rock or if was in a stream for a long time. I don't know, stuff that intrigues me. :bag:

Mrs. SLB baked a great chicken the other night and is now making me homemade chicken noodle soup. I give her a lot of trouble but she can be a pretty groovy chick sometimes.
