GM's thread about nothing (67 Viewers)

We keep a bowl of cheap dry cat food out on our porch during the winter because I hate thinking of the stray kitties who will not only go cold but will also go hungry this season. Today, Mr. YSR was leaving for the afternoon and when he walked out, the cutest little gray cat was at the bottom of our porch steps, just meowing up a storm.

Because the majority of the strays are skittish as hell if we happen upon them on our porch, I was thrilled that one was sticking around so I ran to the kitchen to get some wet food. While I was dishing it out, I heard an anguished cry from Mr. YSR: the cat had been hit by a car.

So I took this stray with a broken back right leg over to UT Vet Hospital. I had known him for almost 12 minutes but had already come up with a name and been trying to think how he would fit in with our other cats. I got there and the vet basically said "man, this guy is broken", meaning that there probably isn't much they can do. I am waiting for a call.

So, today, I've basically cried over the (possibly impending) death of a cat I don't know. I think this pregnancy is a little more intense than the last one.
So basically Mr. YSR gets interested in pus sy, you go along with it for 12 minutes or so, and life-changing bedlam ensues. Is this where babies come from?

I think most of them come from wine.

Football Gods were offended by KC playing their backups when the game still mattered. KC loses in spectacular fashion and the Bengals lose when they probably would have beat the Steelers

Drifter - how does this happen? I bought a new personal trimmer on Amazon. Inside the sealed box was a pack of Sony Cyber-shot screen protectors.
Likely a return that was re-sealed before being re-sold. Someone probably returned a Christmas gift and shoved a bunch of stuff back in the box and the person who processed the return didn't register that they didn't belong.

Very noble of you. I'm surprised leaving food out there that you don't already unofficially own 50 outdoor cats.

If you guys thought it would take a little while for me to start making bad decisions, you'd be wrong

Ended up hanging out with Crazy last night and she lived up to her nickname.

I was successfully drinking away my sorrows and she came over and joined me and tried to be a friend and keep my mind off Chicago Girl.

We walked to a bar down the street for some food and drink and when I went to pay, my debit card was declined. I had tried to fund my online gambling account and my bank flagged it as fraudulent and blocked my account. Awesome.

Hit a bar for some pool and shots and beers. She beat the crap out of a dude at pool despite him cheating and trying to move the cue ball 2x. He was pissed off and yelling at her and I had to step up and ask if there was any issue there. He walked off and had a smoke instead of kicking my ###.

From there we went bowling and drank PBRs. The old people next to us liked us and kept buying us beer :banned:

She wanted some drunk food, so went to a local chili place. She was backing out and hit a car. Oops. The car she hit (5 series BMW) had a scratch on back, but her car is black and the scratch was white, so that doesn't really add up. He was offering to take her insurance info or call the cops and since she wasn't as sober as a driver probably should be. He kept threatening to call the cops and she was freaking out, so I stepped in and calmed the situation down, exchanged info and left.

For some reason she thought it would be a good idea to stop off at a bar on the way home too for another shot. At this point I just wanted to go home and it was less than a mile walk, so I started to leave. She got pissed off and insisted on driving me home.

Got home and she screamed at me for 45 minutes, freaking out about the car and I don't remember what else. I was yelling at her to leave so I could just go to bed and end this night. I'm sure my neighbors really appreciated that at 2am. :wall:

Here's to making bad decisions

cheers
:tebow:

We took a stray rabbit that had been attached by a dog to the ut vet center. Good people there.

Is there anyway these things are real? I've been on anaesthesia (gm spelling here I'm sure) a number of times, even as a teenager. I was never like this.
My oldest daughter had some once and acted like this kid did. It was back before I had a smartphone or I would have recorded it. I don't think it's fake but

Guys, I'm having some almost-buyer's remorse even before buying this house. I'm starting to think a reasonable person might move to Seattle and rent for a while before just jumping in to yet another home purchase. Yes?
Moving to Seattle already? I haven't had a chance to cornhole you in Atlanta. Good luck!
We'll probably be here for another three months. Who else is in ATL? We should put something together!
McGarnicle, Rick James, StevieG??, I'm forgetting some others I know - I'd be in for Happy Hour.
Hipple, KidC, Stubby, a few others. I was the FFA ATL FF champion in 2003 :flex:
Hipple would show up two weeks late for the cornhole.
True story...our draft was at Z Machine's house when he lived in ATL. Hipple was the last one to show up and then walked right in and took a shower. We had to wait for him to finish up to start the draft.
:lmao: WTF?
I thought that only happened in top gun.

I have shoveled our driveway twice now today. I am thinking I am just giving up on it. The snow keeps blowing back from the gusty winds. Schools is cancelled already for tomorrow. Here's to another long week end for the kids.

That's my guess but I really don't know. Do you know if it was sold by Amazon or FBA (Fulfilled By Amazon)?

Very good people.

Funny about your story, though. When I was in there earlier, I had to fill out paperwork for the cat. One of the questions was regarding where the animal was found. The options were apartment, subdivision, business, parking lot, dog's mouth, cat's mouth and so on.

I guess I have lived in TN for too long because I actually asked the admission person what a "dog's mouth" was - I was thinking it was some kind of East TN colloquialism for cul-de-sac or something. :bag:

Sold by. I'm not complaining, I'm just curious. Now I have a free screen protector I can sell on ebay.

I mean, I get being disoriented and feeling high, but not knowing what a river is?
It's modeled after the little kid's "is this real life" video. Way too derivative and completely absurd.

It means dog's mouth in Tennessee.

This weather sucks. We got 17 inches followed by 6 inches. Just got done shoveling the 6 inches. Then it's gonna be -18 overnight. Schools closed tomorrow and maybe Tuesday as well.

We've had snow on at least 12 different days this year. And in between those it's been sickeningly cold. Gotta be the worst Dec/Jan I've ever seen. And I grew up in Minnesota.
