The doges and much hunger stuff, did it originate here or we just adopt it? Same question with the sunglasses schtick plz. Thx.
I was the first one to post the sunglasses ASCII art, but that comes from CSI: Miami and David Caruso's horrendous shtick which is repeated every episode. It was done elsewhere originally, like maybe Reddit.

Doge I think was first pointed out by Tanner.

As FFA shtick goes, they're both relatively recent, like last couple of months or so.
I never even really watched CSI, except maybe in the background if I wasn't paying attention, and somehow figured it was related to that.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Dumb bi tch starts to argue with me that I was in the street and that we shouldn't have the chairs at the end of the driveway either.......I look at her and simply say, "Shelby, you were driving too fast, go home" this degenerated into her yelling, crying, begging me to accept her apology, screaming at me that I was wrong, back to begging me to accept her apology.

But then, the best part, my DRUNK ### wife, who NEVER, EVER, says anything controversial EVER. Walks up on this bi tch and proclaims, "were you speeding". " WERE YOU SPEEDING??". SHELBY, WERE YOU SPEEDING??!!! SHRLBY, GO HOME, GO HOME!!! At this point, I'm sporting wood at this aggressive version of my wife, and am reiterating the go home bit ,with a cawktastic bowing motion accompanied by a #### weed arm wave in the direction of her house.
SUBURBS! #### YEA!!

firm blowing up update:

owner was in town for a few days. one of the attorneys who has been there for 8 years approached him about renegotiating his compensation package. he was told that the owner intends to revamp the firm and eliminate salaries, in favor of partnership and a share of net profits and "eat what you kill" incentives. two of the attorneys will definitely be getting an offer to become partners, one might get an offer, and the other is me (I'm technically not a member of the firm at all--I'm an independent contractor). the 8-year guy said he wouldn't consider it unless I was included, since I do most of the client development at this point. he also said he wouldn't agree to carry the dead weight.

I would only agree if they can the dead weight and take the owner's wife off salary as well (she gets paid for "marketing," which basically means trying to get my contact list and working them for cases, so that she can claim her husband brought them in and not me). I may not even agree then, since I'm pretty convinced the owner could just be replaced by a line of credit and the rest of us could get a higher percentage of profits with lower overhead.

Or I go back to solo.

Should be an interesting couple months.

Reading that I realize I have no idea how law firms work. Best of luck, regardless.
Yes, this. Seems stressful.

I'm going to screw off as much as possible tomorrow and Wednesday (minus a presentation to our Board), go to San Antonio on Thursday to host some clients in a suite at a PGA tournament and then get loaded at a bbq at our PR consultant's house on Friday.

Good luck. If I can give any advice, it's that when the managing partner can be replaced with a line of credit, he should be.

Both spouses will be there. As will all five boys (ages 7, 7, 4, 3 and 2).

Abe> Already have a lunch tomorrow. Wednesday?

Wed maybe. Where will you be geographically on that calendar day?

Truck> incredible work in that bracket draft. Wow.
Easily the best results of anything I've drafted anything in my life. I had a pretty good process I think, but I also got lucky that I was drafting late and my #1-rated team overall (UT) fell to the turn, and I kept taking the teams that my numbers said were best, regardless of the risk. Dunno if I could stomach a dollar draft, but quarters / losing up to $100 didn't scare me.

I don't either, if there's an "owner". Odd setup. What's that all about?
currently, there's one guy that puts in all the operating expenses and takes most of the risk. he pays the attorneys a salary, with eat what you kill incentives, as well as a little bit of grinder incentive for hours worked on cases (this isn't true of me...I work under a separate contract). he wants to switch the model to a true partnership, where we share liability and he takes a bigger share of the profits for taking a bigger share of the risk.

So pissed. Forgot to buy my ticket to the Beer, Bacon, and Bourbon Fest on Saturday, and now it's sold out. :kicksrock:
Only in BFE do these type of events sell out well in advance.
Who is that in your avatar?
London Andrews/Tumbler blog...one of the few photos I can use by her. Otis and Christo would each have a heart attack but for vastly different reasons.
I'm probably more Christo than Otiks...but that's a little much.
