I was going to post something here about Jay Mohr not knowing that JJ Hardy no longer plays for the Brewers even though he hosts a sports radio talk show, but who really cares. That's not going to get me any closer to the vaunted 1000 likes mark.
Jay Mohr gets a lot of very basic sports stuff wrong. I like his show though.
can't stand him

Annoying as hell. If it weren't for his Christopher Walken impression and heavy airtime as a guest on Jim Rome's show (and don't get me started on Rome either), nobody would know his name.
was pretty good in the movie Go.
I used to listen to the Adam Carolla podcast and Mohr would be on there frequently. He's a funny dude.
Jay Mohr is a funny guy. No comedian hits it out of the park all the time but I have always liked the guy. Great Walken, Tracy Morgan, Keitel and other non-typical impersonations.

mohr introduced me to the phrase "made a map of Hawaii on her stomach".

Worth something in my book

It's my wife and my anniversary today. I worked from home so I could take her to a doctor appointment in the afternoon, and my mom came down to watch the kids. She was feeling okay and on the way to the appointment we were actually talking about going out to dinner. But by the time we were there she had a full blown tear-inducing headache. Maybe it was the car ride with me.

So we stopped by the store on the way home and I bought a couple 2" bone-in ribeyes. Threw them on the grill, went inside for a few minutes, came back out and the grill was billowing black smoke. I opened the grill to a huge ball of flame, burnt some arm hair, the entire grill was on fire including the grease-catch pan underneath. Outside of steaks were close to scorched but not quite. I turned off all the burners and let everything calm down, then put the steaks on indirect heat for a few minutes.

Best ####ing steaks I've ever made.
Things I learned today:

A. Shuke and I have the same anniversary.

ii. Prescriptions are for 3 months (12 weeks) but 3 month checkups are apparently scheduled for 3 months (calendar), hence my wife has been trying to soldier through a fibromyalgia flare up for a week and gradually getting more miserable. (Got a short term prescription filled today, so she should get more back to normal by the morning, but suffice it so say she had a ####ty day for our anniversary.)

!. Neither of us is getting any tonight, but Shuke had a steak dinner prepared by the Reds' arsonist bullpen.

(Happy Anniversary and best wishes, Shuke!)
Thanks man. We really need to grab a beer sometime.

Mohr >>> Rome

But that's not saying much.
Loved Mohr as an occasional Rome fill-in. He is a horrible every day host.
Truth be told I don't really listen to either one. Maybe a couple of times a month on my way to lunch or something.
Just go with the non-sports "Mohr Stories" podcast. I wasn't that big a fan of the sports show and I love Mohr.

Was listening to a podcast this morning and heard this question:

Would you rather fight 100 duck-sized horses or 1 horse-sized duck?

I'm probably going to be in Pittsburgh next week of anyone wants to grab a beer or twelve.
Where will you be staying?
Not certain yet. Business is out in Duquesne/McKeesport area but I'm going to look into staying closer to Pittsburg proper as I really only have to be out there for a few hours.
Pack your Kevlar.
Yeah, stay either in downtown or in Monroeville (closest areas to get to Duquesne/McKeesport) That's not a great area.

I live in Washington, PA about 25-30 miles southwest of downtown and work in Robinson Twp near the airport
I stayed in Monroeville last time. Never felt unsafe but there's nothing around there except a Primantis.Staying downtown this time and I'll have Thursday evening free if anyone wants to have a beer. Wish I was getting in early enough to go to the Pirates game but it's a 12:35 start.

Looks like Romo is going to be gone for another 3 weeks. I thought he was coming home next weekend.

I wasn't going to try to brave the 12 hour drive with a 10-month-old, but SLB, looks like we're heading your way Friday. RIP YSR and YSR 2.0 and YSR 2.0.1.

I'll likely try to hit the road early, say 8:00. With inevitable infant stops, probably puts me in SL around rush hour? Neat.

October pearl jam cornhole at the Austin Health Retreat? who's with me?

Red? Zilla? TU? Scorchy?
I plan on attending. Uni, Stu, Bogart, Major, bentley, Abe and plenty of others have gone before. Theres a pretty good ACL thread.

Have to really shell out to borrow the cos joint, though. He and plenty of others make a mint off those weekends.

There is a lot more in Monroeville than just Primanti's...Business Rt 22 is called 'The Miracle Mile' for all the shops and restaurants there.

Where at in Dahntahn?

oh, and Monroeville isn't that bad....Duquesne and Mckeesport on the other hand, not so much
