GM's thread about nothing (17 Viewers)

While we are on travel talk, looking to do a long weekend getaway with the girl in mid-August.

Want to be able to leave Cincinnati in the evening on Thursday, Aug 14 and return on Sunday, Aug 17

Looking for a place to relax, sit on a beach and have some drinks without a care in the world.

Willing to drive up to 5 hours (Michigan, Lake Erie, lakes in KY or TN) or catch a plane

Any suggestions?
Dallas IMO.
:lmao: I've gotta be with her a while longer before introducing her to any of you degenerates
Miami is likely cheapest and easiest in terms of flights, timing and proximity of airport to beach. For a bit more and a direct flight, you can get to San Diego.

For a willingness to leave a bit earlier in the day and travel further for more money Cancun and an AI 2 day stay beckons.

Went with Back Door Beauties but this would have worked

Almost went MOP on the host too after he said he wanted a very specific answer on "what branch of govt is responsible for trying the president during impeachment)

My answer : legislative

"Correct" answer: senate

Who's right?

Really wish I would have videod your awesome wife and Pep making out.
Zooks would need a new keyboard.
Can't stop "thinking" about this. Might have torn my rotator cuff.
You probably shouldn't click on this then.
Who is your friend on FB? She looks scared.
:lmao: Pretty sure she was REALLY drunk. Every once in awhile one of her friends would check on her and she would say, I'm not drunk, I'm fine. I think the confusion was my wife taking a pic of us while I was firing on her. :bag:

Random pics

Where was this at?

The Impeachment Process

In the House of Representatives

  • The Chairman of the Judiciary Committee will propose a Resolution calling for the Judiciary Committee to begin a formal inquiry into the issue of impeachment.
  • Based on their inquiry, the Judiciary Committee will send another Resolution to the full House stating that impeachment is warranted and why (the Articles of Impeachment), or that impeachment is not called for.
  • The Full House (probably operating under special floor rules set by the House Rules Committee) will debate and vote on each Article of Impeachment.
  • Should any one of the Articles of Impeachment be approved by a simple majority vote, the President will be "impeached." However, being impeached is sort of like being indicted of a crime. There still has to be a trial, which is where the US Senate comes in.
In the Senate

  • The Articles of Impeachment are received from the House.
  • The Senate formulates rules and procedures for holding a trial.
  • A trial will be held. The President will be represented by his lawyers. A select group of House members will serve as "prosecutors." The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (currently John G. Roberts) will preside with all 100 Senators acting as the jury.
  • The Senate will meet in private session to debate a verdict.
  • The Senate, in open session, will vote on a verdict. A 2/3 vote of the Senate will result in a conviction.
  • The Senate will vote to remove the President from office.
  • The Senate may also vote (by a simple majority) to prohibit the President from holding any public office in the future.

Your answer was right as the question was posed. He should have asked what body tries a president if he wanted senate.

Wait, the senate is not a branch.
Yeah he told me it was a poorly worded question and I determined it was to trivial to argue about...went from 2nd at halftime to last at the end
So you answered it right, the question was admittedly poorly worded, and you got hosed?Tanner, isn't it sort of SOP as a teacher to give a kid credit if the question was ambiguous or poorly worded? I'm sure you've never done it, but maybe you have colleagues who have.

Bakersfield

Stryker, FDAS boxes of crap are nearly filled and should be packed and ready to go by the end of this week. And then mailed within a month or two.

I've been reading Iles? Novels and they're making me want to spend a weekend in Natchez

Spent last night in marina del Rey, definitely the best stop of my for city road trip: woodland hills, bakersfield, vegas, and MdR.

I learned two new things today:

1) There's an airport called Bill & Hillary Clinton Airport. Had no clue. Not surprised it's the first worst considering Little Rock is a fart box.

B) I have a board meeting today at Paddy's Bar & Grill. Our female president emailed us all to say she was looking forward to a very refreshing "Rader" at the meeting on this incredibly hot day. A "Rader" is beer and lemonade mixed together. Never heard of that in my life. And though I'd rather drink from the toilet, I could see it being a treat for the womens and men who eat sweets for breakfast.
Went through Portland today and stopped at 9th/10th and Alder for the food trucks. Holy Jeebus was that a beautiful thing.

I couldn't decide what to get and then it hit me: in honor of our GBGM, I had to get the Monte Cristo sandwich...served on a Belgian Waffle. Felt like a real adult out there eating that.

"Branch" = Legislative

But the Senate tries the President.

Poorly worded question.

If it's on a test I'll throw it out. So if it's a 30 point test I'll drop it to 29. Everybody wins.

Not only were you right (the Senate is not "branch"), but it should have been "which" not "what". :hot:

People from the midwest opinion on food is irrelevant and usually wrong.
great foodie scene in Alabama, huh?
Solid BBQ

James Beard Awards like it

Plus fresh out of the gulf seafood.

But, I'll concede the fact we didn't invent frying chicken wings and drenching them with hot sauce.
you're claiming Alabama invented "solid BBQ"? or that they just perfected it into something that doesn't suck?yeah, no James Beard awards in the midwest either. great call

not sure what Buffalo has to do with anything either. If you count New York State in the midwest, you need a new map.
Follow up. Are you inferring BBQ sucks?
He's implying.You're inferring.

You don't know know people who drink Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy? I actually do drink my own piss when this is the only option.

My kid got her 12-month vaccines today. Now I'm up with her and her 102 fever. I wish someone like Jay Cutler would have warned me against this.

I have to go train a gaggle of young hot bartendresses in a little bit. Interested to see how this combination of annoyance and arousal is gonna play out.
How many are in a gaggle? A friend's imagination wants to know.
The bare minimum for a gaggle is four, but you really want at least five.

I had five. Two super hot, two moderately hot, and one meh hot. One of the supers is a tiny black chick with whom I might become sexually acquainted...it's been a while since I've had an Ethnic Studies credit. :grad:

Baseballguys: When do we stop sucking Derek Jeter's ####?
Two more months. Getting almost unbearable.
Tonight became unwatchable after the third inning.
The whole thing with Wainwright grooving pitches (with home-field on the line and the Cards still technically in the mix for the WS) was really awkward. "He deserved it?" "I didn't think he would hit a double?" Seems pretty condescending. And then coming on later with Erin Andrews and apologizing for/denying (???) grooving pitches to Jeter...I dunno, weird.

I think it's dumb that the winner gets WS HFA, but given that it is what it is, doesn't seem like you should help the other team out at all.
