Hey guys, just letting you know once 5:00 EST hits just put me on auto-skip. At this point I'm fine with whatever I get when I have the chance to check back on the thread. Going to be travelling this weekend and then training part of next week. I will make sure to check in periodically though. This has been a ton of fun.

The original Super Mario Bros. 2 was deemed to be too hard for American audiences and was never released here until Super Mario All Stars...

Its not a bad game. Even if we difinitively state it is the "worst" of the actual Mario games, that still makes it a GREAT game...Kid Icarus, nice pick. That game was killer. larryboy is correct. The Super Mario 2 that we know isn't the original Super Mario Bros 2. The original Super Mario Bros 2 from Japan was deemed to hard for US audiences, so they changed another Shigeru Miyamoto made game, Doki Doki panic to include Mario characters and brought that over to the US to become the US version of Super Mario Bros 2. Japan's Super Mario Bros 2 was eventually made available in the US in the form of The Lost Levels in Super Mario All-Stars.There is books of info on this topic on the internet. Just search on Super Mario Bros 2.
The game was revamped in Super Mario Advance (Super Mario Bros 2) to include more Mario elements that we see in other Mario games to make it fit into the franchise a bit more. Some feel that that version was much better.

Someone else has played King of Fighters. Although I prefer the '94 version, they aren't that big of a difference.

18.4 Cloud Strife, main character FFVII, Final Fantasy Tactics, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Ehrgeiz, Kingdom Hearts
as much as I'm not a fan of Final Fantasy VII and think its characters are overrated, to get Cloud Strife in the 18th round as a main character is pretty ridiculously good value.
Combining him with Cecil from Final Fantasy IV gives me the two strongest lead characters in any Final Fantasy games, so i'm happy with it.

I hate taking this game so close to Super Mario Bros 2, but I already had it queued up. In fact, I've been thinking about firing on it for a few rounds now.

Don't let the name fool you, this game is not a remake. It's a full-fledged new Super Mario adventure. In fact, it's Mario's long-awaited return to 2D platforming after a decade. And it's one of the best that the genre has ever seen.
The game is beautiful and it really shows what the Nintendo DS can do. The new additions to gameplay and new power-ups prove that it's a worthy Mario title that can hang with the best of them. I don't think I've ever been so giddy than when I first became Giant Mario and ran through smashing everything in sight.
If that doesn't tell you anything... how about that it's just the 2nd best selling console game of all-time*
(*not including games bundles with systems).

SMB2, or whatever it's proper name is, was my favorite of the SMB games of NES. Maybe it all makes sense now because I was never much of SMB fan (though I would've gladly taken SMB #1 overall).
