Green Bay at Dallas (1 Viewer)

Thank-you.  I accept your apology.  ;)
:lmao:  You and I usually see eye and eye or at least that's how I remember it over the years. It's not shocking we get into a little tiff during a game between our two teams. Good luck this year, Max.

(And good luck with the prescription glasses ;) )

Stats on that last play gonna take a while  :lmao:
Easy:

D.Prescott pass short left to B.Butler to DAL 35 for 10 yards. Lateral to E.Elliott to GB 45 for 20 yards. Lateral to D.Prescott to GB 48 for -3 yards. Lateral to B.Butler to 50 for -2 yards. Lateral to D.Prescott to GB 47 for 3 yards. Lateral to J.Witten to GB 47 for no gain. FUMBLES, RECOVERED by GB-N.Perry at GB 47. N.Perry to GB 48 for 1 yard (T.Frederick). FUMBLES (T.Frederick), RECOVERED by DAL-T.Frederick at GB 49. T.Frederick to GB 38 for 11 yards. FUMBLES, RECOVERED by GB-Q.Rollins at GB 42.

there will be a couple of story lines from this, but the play on the game winning drive where they let Rodgers scramble for like 20 yards and get out of bounds, is the one you really can't let happen

The two biggest mistakes, imo

#1 - Terrance Williams drop which led to a pick six

#2 Passing the ball on second down to Dez, Incomplete, stopping the clock.

The only play that couldn't happen was the throw to Dez on 2nd and 1 that stopped the clock. Totally inexcusable

For a moment I thought Rodgers was going to cut back inside and risk going for the endzone.  Something about his body language and the position of players on the field, including his blocker.  Good decision by him to get out of bounds.

Ok, if you're gonna be a #####, then whatever. I'm familiar with forward progress. If you're gonna get all technical about forward progress, then his progress was stopped before he reached out.
I see what the Commish is saying here. If you reach out the ball to cross the goal line, the play stops as soon as the ball crosses the goal line. if you are going out of bounds and reach the ball forward, the play stops when you go out of bounds and the ball is placed wherever you reached the ball to when you crossed out of bounds. If you are on top of a pile, however, reach out the ball and then pull it back before the whistle blows, the ball should be placed where you pulled it back to. It would be different if he reached out the ball and the Packers pushed the ball back, then forward progress would be given. It is analagous to a receiver who catches a ball and runs backwards and gets tackled, The ball is placed wherever the ball is when the defense made contact to tackle him.

If the whistle blew at exactly the moment that Elliot had reached out the ball, then I would say they placed the ball in the right place. Of course, since the play was initially ruled short, they would have to have conclusive evidence that this was the case. I don't know if the overhead video was/ or could be synced with the audio.

   The defensive players for GB were laughing walking off the field after Dallas scored their TD.   "You left way too much time on the clock!"

Does anyone or has anyone ever had as much swagger/confidence as Aaron Rodgers?
It's a pleasure to watch.

GREAT info here lmao
Yea, I apologize for my early comments. I was drunk and at a party I didn't want to be at, then got pissy with the horrible call and down 21-6.  :bag:

Witten is just a stud. Have no clue how he ever gets open
Witten is a stud for sure, but the Packer Defensive scheme, seems like they don't care what any TE does, they just don't cover TE'.....ever.

It's call forward progress dude. It's been around for at least 25, years, at least.
No need to be a Richard. I get what he was saying and i think you did too.

When this play happened i was shocked and very happy. Nothing like giving the best QB in the game a few more seconds.

All in all a great win on the road against a great Cowboy team. However they HAVE to get better on D. No way can you allow a 9 Minute+ drive and only force the opposing team to punt once and think you're going anywhere. Rodgers and the Offense will play better Defenses and it will be ugly.

Can someone explain this to me? I'm still perplexed as to why this was not 2nd and 15 from the 48 after the penalty. I have never seen a holding call on an Offensive run or pass play not be called back and 10yds added to the replay of the down.

2nd and 5 at GB 48

(6:37 - 4th) E.Elliott left tackle to GB 43 for 5 yards (M.Daniels). PENALTY on DAL-T.Frederick, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at GB 43.
I couldn't really hear the call, and I just don't get it

A holding or illegal block penalty beyond the line of scrimmage is marked from the spot of the foul. So bring the play back to where the flag was dropped and mark it for 10 yards.  This doesn't happen often as the majority of holds on running plays happen behind the LOS.

This is just odd. i cannot believe the majority happen behind the LOS. I could believe 50%, 50-50 running and passing plays. I honeslty can't remember this being called this way ever on a typical running play.

I would think most are right at or behind the LOS.  Maybe they give them a bit of leeway as long as it's within a yard or so of the LOS?  Not totally sure.

Roughing the passer at the two yard line?  First down, and eventual TD, instead of 3rd and forever.
