Greg Jennings Game Log (1 Viewer)

Through 2 games with Finley in 20119 receptions (leads the team)144 yards (2nd behind Nelson)2 TDS (tied for the team lead with Nelson)Finley8 receptions121 yards0 TDs
So Jennings is currently wr16 in my league. I guess LHucks was over valuing him as well. :)

Touche...

Just pointing out how affected he has been so far by Finley.

Which is to say...really not much at all.

obviously, i am very pleased to have Jennings as my WR2 in a couple of leagues. I stil don't think he is a Tier 1 WR since he does not get the RZ looks that CJ/Fitz/VJ may get, but in that offense, he should score 8-10 TDs.

I will say that Finely has been a minor disappointment so far and needed a little more from him last week to win a couple leagues. But as long as he is healthy, I am happy. He is not quite up there in the Gronk/Graham world, but I think they are the outliers and should be treated as such.

Jennings is such a pro and he keeps getting better. Without Champ Bailey, the Denver D really had no chance. Third play from scrimmage he easily beat double coverage, made a great adjustment, and it was apparent that the Packers were going to score at will. Jennings is like a man among boys out there and is clearly among the elite WRs in the game today. I wish I could find the draft-day thread someone started here to talk about how badly Bellichick abused Ted Thompson by trading up with the Packers to steal Chad Jackson 20 picks earlier.

Fantasy-wise, I think Nelson is the biggest threat to Jennings' numbers, as we are mow seeing, for the first time, several five-step max protect deep route type plays where Jordy appears to be the first look. The past few years, every one of those plays was designed for Jennings.

Very well said. Also hilarious that on one play, Denver pretty much forgot to cover Jennings.

Out of curiosity I looked up the numbers. Since 2008 (Jennings 3rd year, when Rodgers took over), here are the ranks:Receiving Yards1. 4712 - AJ2. 4226 - White3. 4043 - Jennings 4. 4021 - Fitz5. 4019 - WayneTDs1. 37 - CJ2. 33 - Fitz3. 29 - White4. 28 - Jennings5. 27 - AJIt's funny, when people talk about the elite WRs you always hear Fitz, CJ, and AJ for obvious reasons, while Jennings and White seem to get overlooked because they don't have the eye-poppping measurables.

Nice game last night.

5th ranked WR with TDs in 4 of 5 games... and yet to have a truly "big" game yet.

Great TD last night btw, which he made happen with YAC. Finley, on the other hand, looked awful.

Very happy with his production so far and looking forward to big weeks in the future!

OP?

Last night's TD was awesome. Jennings created that score out of nothing. And we all know the odds of the OP actually admitting he's wrong.

7 receptions...147 yards...another TD (and much of that after his hand went numb after a catch during the first series.

On the year, 42 receptions, 677 yards, 5 TDs and is the #5 WR in my pretty standard scoring league.

Finley?

2 for 13 yards and a TD yesterday

25 for 334 and 4 TDs

TE # 5 for now. Will drop from the bye week...Jennings may be able to hold #5 through the bye.

Will the OP own up to this yet? Doubtful.

'Hucks never owns up to bad calls, just like we can expect you to always bump every post you've been right on or got lucky with to toot your own horn. YMMV.

This thread sucks for anything other than entertainment. The fact that there is a thread started where someone actually claims Greg Jennings is anything but a top WR is just ridiculous. His numbers speak for themselves. Everyone is allowed to have an opinion. However, most opinions shouldn't get this much attention. Especially if they are so clearly wrong in every practical sense of the word.

Really?Any examples of me bumping things I have been right about other than this post that is meant mostly to keep track of how wrong HUCKSY is?Please show me how I always do it?

Regardless, just judging by what my own eyes saw and what my common sense dictates, there is no way Jennings comes close to his numbers from last season unless injuries hit again. The Packers are apt to throw the ball as much as Peyton or Brees, but there are just not enough targets to go around. No way Jordy goes away after that SuperBowl. No way 2nd rounder Cobb doesn't get a few. No way Finley is used for blocking. Add to that an improved running game. FWIW, I trust my own memory and logic, so I am staying away from Jennings unless I can get him in WR2 range.
:goodposting: would you agree he is the most overrated WR of those ranked in the top 10?
I was never arguing about Jennings stats. I was saying, to claim the fact that he was overrated as a player is Ridiculous and ignorant. His stats may very well go down because of Finley or they may stay the same. Regardless, Jennings is a top Wide receiver in the league, in a fantastic situation. I also dont think anyone was claiming Jennings was an elite athlete either, But you dont need to be elite athletically to be a fantastic player. More than one way to skin a cat folks

Another game...another TD...still top 5 in FF scoring and thats with Nelson hogging all the glory.

Finley? Not quite as big of a play as thought huh?

Those of us who watched last year when Finley got hurt and saw the team using Jennings and the rest knew McCarthy would not just go to force feeding Finley...but some of you did not want to listen.

Love the consistency of this guy. I appreciate the 8-15 points I can bank on every week. I'd much rather have that than some WR that throws up a couple of big games and then disappears.

per Rotoworld:

Greg Jennings - WR - Packers

Greg Jennings was sidelined by a shin bruise in the second half of Sunday's Week 11 game against the Bucs, though coach Mike McCarthy believes he's "OK."

Jennings suffered the injury late in the second quarter. He played with the starters early in the third quarter but spent much of the second half on the sidelines. Though he was second on the team with six targets, Jennings managed just two receptions for six yards against the Bucs. McCarthy's comments suggests Jennings should be in the lineup for Thursday's game at Detroit.

Rodgers looked a bit off today too...but they seemed to just keep Jennings bottled up and Jordy definitely benefited.

Nelson has been very good this year.

Maybe the OP should have talked about Nelson's effect on Jennings' numbers and not Finley.

Jennings may not have ludicrous ceiling for FF purposes, but he has a rather high floor and is a solid later WR1 to select in a given draft.
Part of our difference of opinion here may be drafting style. In most drafts I usually target upside/high ceiling players.I do agree that Jennings is a relatively safe play to get 1100 yards which is why I have him ranked 13th.
i wondered when the patented LHUCKS backpeddle would start.
no backpeddle here...I still think he's overrated(both in ff and as an NFL WR) and I still think he has mediocre skills.
You have mediocre NFL scouting skills. I don't like Finley in there and noticed the big difference once he was gone but I think Jennings dropped 1 or 2 TD passes in those 1st 5 games too. Mediocre WR skills? Check his big plays throughout his career. I'm talking 20+ yard catches and the numerous huge TD's up to 80+ yards. His mediocre skills seem to be able to burn just about every DB he faces. Never seen a guy get behind the DB's so often for huge TDs.
Mediocre skills? More like No skills.

Rodgers simply takes what the defense is giving him.

Teams shadow Finley and Jennings.

No problem, Nelson or J. Jones will reap the rewards.

What makes matters worse is that GB gets up to a big lead every single week, and so the 2nd half is a write-off in terms of passing.

GB doesn't get into any shoutouts. Most of the games are over by halftime (today being an exception of course)

Jennings holding strong against the preseason top 5. On pace for another 1200+ yard, 10+ TD season.

I'll readily admit missing this one. Somewhere in this thread I was on the side that suggested Finley would eat into the production.

In reality, the opposite effect has happened. It seems like Finley gets help so much that it opens things up for every other receiver.

I have to imagine it had been a frustrating year for Finley owners because there really is no reason why he can't be Gronk or Graham or Dallas clark or Antonio gates types.

The topic going into next year might be (if Finley leaves) is it will actually hurt Jennings (and of course, what finley's new venue might afford him).

Good work on those that trumpted Jennings. Most people only go to bat for the players they own in leagues and support them blindly so double points and props for anyone who was just an unbiased observer.
