These are ash logs ready to split. I don't have a wood burning fireplace and there's too much to give to neighbors. Is this stuff worth anything or do I just throw a post up on craigslist saying first come first serve?
Check CL to see if anyone is selling em if they are i would do the same. If not yea, CL and FCFSThese are ash logs ready to split. Yes. Craigslist is your friend there. You'll make some people very happy. These are ash logs ready to split. I don't have a wood burning fireplace and there's too much to give to neighbors. Is this stuff worth anything or do I just throw a post up on craigslist saying first come first serve?
This is key. It's a fill your truck no cherry picking affair. People will come from all over. Firewood is like $400 a cord. They should really pay you.I cut down 17 when I put my pool in. I put an ad on Craigslist and had 7 guys with trailers lined up the next morning. The first guy wanted to pick and choose. I told him to take first he comes to or leave. Yard was clean in 5 hours.
DO NOT DO THIS.Post it on cragislist or next-door. someone will take it from you.
Exactly why this should not be done. This is key. It's a fill your truck no cherry picking affair. People will come from all over. Firewood is like $400 a cord. They should really pay you.
Yep, the freaking borer is the culprit.I’ve had to do the same with the Ash trees on my property. We paid the tree service to haul away but now regretting not going the CL route. Why didn’t I think of that?
Also is this bc of the Emerald Ash borer?
From my experience they charge extra.Aren't they supposed to clean it up?
They do, but it's generally worth it. In all the times I've had tree work done, the added cost to get rid of it is usually only about 5-10% and some just go ahead and include it in the cost without offering the option to not haul it off. From my experience they charge extra.
Ash does not cost 5-10% more to get hauled away. A good tree service knows there is extra responsibility involved. They do, but it's generally worth it. If there's a large price difference, I'd check out a new tree guy/service. Especially if it's a hardwood. Any good tree guy is going to have plenty of ways to sell it. It's part of their business.
Hours? Some of those have like 8 hour videos with billions of views because people use it to sleep to for the relaxing noises. It is part of the whole ASMR craze on youtube. If you ever want to spend a few hours in a YouTube rabbit hole, search for wood-turning videos involving large logs.
From my experience they charge less. When they get to keep it, they can sell it.From my experience they charge extra.
