News: Giants WR Hakeem Nicks suffered an ankle injury in Sunday's win over the Panthers and his status for practice this week is up in the air.

It wasn't obvious on Sunday, but will have to keep an eye on him this week and see what develops.

dang... he was on pace for 48 TD's this season.

I'll temper my expectations to 30 TD's.

Does he have a history of being one of those guys that hates practice but always shows up on game day Iverson style?

New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (ankle) did not participate in practice Tuesday, Sept. 15, after injuring his ankle in Week 1, reports Ohm Youngmisuk, of ESPNNewYork.com.

Keeping a close eye on practice this week for Nicks

Last year, Manningham caught on fire then suffered a lingering injury that set him back compared to Smith and Nicks.

This is nothing to worry about yet -- good move for the Giants to keep this budding star rested and healthy -- but ankle injuries can be tricky and ongoing for a WR. Def. worth monitoring.

agree he is listed as probable and they said he played thru the inj so it must have occurred early in the game. If he can score 3 tds on a bum ankle I wonder what he could do 100 percent... He should be fine

The ankle shouldn't bother him since all he needs to do is run, really fast, in a straight line and catch the ball when it gets to him.

4 catches, 209 yards, 4 td's, 0 cuts on the day :goodposting:

Careful guys, you are getting dangerously close to committing heresy against the almighty Jermichael Finley. Only He can put up numbers like this, the only reason He didn't this week is because He didn't want to. Don't forget that.

Sounds like he'll be okay. Hopefully he plays. Since he's got a Sunday night game most WR's will have played by the time the NY/Indy game kicks off.

He can't be listed as probable at the moment because the official game designations don't come out until after Friday practice. So if some place is listing him as probable for Week 2, that's complete speculation and no more than a guess at this point.
