How different would it be if Hillary had won? Would the Trump supporters be criticizing her and would her supporters be accusing them of wanting to see her fail?It would extremely different. I guess. I wouldn't be here if Bush or Kasich won so wouldn't know.
Id disagree...people criticized Obama. And while there were plenty of back and forth...I don't recall as much of the "why do you want America to fail...or why do you hate America" type stuff. .Godsbrother said:This thread is silly. For as long as I've been here we have had critics of the current administration complain while their supporters accuse them of wanting to see America fail. It would be no different if Jeb Bush or John Kasich had won in 2016.
Well, maybe a little different: Trump dials up nastiness like no other.
Big difference. Anti Trump people here have said they cut ties with family and friends if they voted for Trump. No one did that for Obama or if Hillary had won. The level of hate is ridiculous. How different would it be if Hillary had won? Would the Trump supporters be criticizing her and would her supporters be accusing them of wanting to see her fail?
Considering the continued hatred of her, I would say yes. Didn't care for her either but again, wouldn't be here. How different would it be if Hillary had won? Trump supporters still criticize her and bring her up (oddly as a defense for Trump). How different would it be if Hillary had won? Would the Trump supporters be criticizing her and would her supporters be accusing them of wanting to see her fail?
I don't have the exact stats in front of me, but from like 1986 - 2016, if you were invested in the market (S&P 500 I think) every day except for the 10 single largest-gain days, your portfolio would be worth something like 50% less than someone who was in the market every day. It's an astronomical number that is hard to fathom. Don't try to time the market. In all seriousness if you try and time the market you’ll fall behind and never be able to catch up. I tried it a couple times when I was younger and you’ll never make it all back. It’s like the old saying that a broken clock is right twice a day. Eventually, yes you’ll be right. But if the market rises 40% over a period of time while you wait for the 20% dip, you’ll never be even with the person who rode it out. Sure, there is a chance you could time it just right the first time.

still isn't registering yet?
didn't think so.
A better question is why would you want Trump to succeed?I wasn’t surprised to see posters here saying it, but from POTUS it’s something else.
“Meanwhile, the Dayton, Ohio, shooter had a history of supporting political figures like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and ANTIFA.” OANN I hope other news outlets will report this as opposed to Fake News. Thank you!

Really?A better question is why would you want Trump to succeed?
You know cutting off your nose won't spite your face, right? You know what he tweeted isn't true right?
I apologize for engaging you and giving you credit for having to understand how dangerous it is for the POTUS to tweet out a lie that a mass murderer was a disciple of his potential presidential adversary. You know cutting off your nose won't spite your face, right?
You asked the following question.I apologize for engaging you and giving you credit for having the intelligence to understand how dangerous it is for the POTUS to tweet out a lie that a mass murderer was a disciple of his potential presidential adversary.
Think about it. Regardless of what is happening, I think everyone would want the President of the United States to succeed. That success would mean that he does the right thing, perhaps changes his rhetoric, does the right thing for the remaining time in office. We can't remove him today, tomorrow, or next week. Since the rest of our elected officials won't move on impeachment we are stuck until Jan 2021. We can hope Trump will succeed in that time.A better question is why would you want Trump to succeed?
Like you, I didn't post here. I went 8,000 posts purely in the SP before I started posting here maybe 6 weeks ago. I'd been fairly apathetic when it came to politics and I'm still that way on many issues that are popular in the press, but I deem them to be minor on a relative scale. To me, corruption is the biggest problem and rooting it out would solve many of our other problems, big and small. A cursory glance at voting patterns can help discern where some of the corruption exists, but blocking of efforts towards election security is about as damning as it gets.First, let me be forthcoming ... I don't think that I've ever posted in the politics forum.
I'm very ignorant when it comes to politics and I prefer it that way. True what they say ... ignorance is bliss.
So, as someone attempting to look at our countries health without bias, seems like we're in a pretty good place ...
I watch the stock market continue to climb, economy is strong, unemployment is low, so tell me why is it so many people want Trump to fail?
Is it his policies that people don't agree with ... or is it that they just don't like him as a person?
If it's his policies ... which ones in particular have you wanting him to fail? Please be specific.
Explain how you are suffering from having Trump as your president?
You realize you are talking about Trump, the follow up sentence proves it.That success would mean that he does the right thing, perhaps changes his rhetoric, does the right thing for the remaining time in office.
And he isn't going anywhere tomorrow or the next day. The best you can hope for is for him to do the right thing. That's why asking the question, "why would anyone want Trump to succeed is a ridiculous statement".You realize you are talking about Trump, the follow up sentence proves it.
This is wishcasting. Trump ain't gonna start doing the right thing tomorrow. Or thf next day. Trump is convinced he is alteady right and tjus see no reason to change anything.
i have no idea why you would think this.Think about it. Regardless of what is happening, I think everyone would want the President of the United States to succeed. That success would mean that he does the right thing, perhaps changes his rhetoric, does the right thing for the remaining time in office. We can't remove him today, tomorrow, or next week. I have a feeling that many of you are meeting hate with hate. It won't solve anything. There will be no winners. I said this a long time ago and your post is proof that it's true. You are becoming what you hate.
Did I say I wanted him to succeed on his current path?i have no idea why you would think this.
i don't want him to succeed on his current path. i don't want him to be re-elected. that would mean he didn't succeed.
That success would mean that he does the right thing, perhaps changes his rhetoric, does the right thing for the remaining time in office.
A forlorn hope is not for me. Waste of time and energyAnd he isn't going anywhere tomorrow or the next day. The best you can hope for is for him to do the right thing. That's why asking the question, "why would anyone want Trump to succeed is a ridiculous statement".
If he succeeds, we all succeed.
That's why I felt @Sheriff Bart's statement was ridiculous.
Each time a vote is cast, it's forlorn hope.A forlorn hope is not for me. Waste of time and energy
Yes.
This is not correct at all.KCitons said:You know cutting off your nose won't spite your face, right?
