Hines Ward - Biggest dork in the NFL (1 Viewer)

Ive seen Hines Ward do two TD celebrations in the endzone. The first celebration I saw was Hines Ward doing the "eagle" vs Philadelphia last season when the Steelers blew out the Eagles. The second celebration I have ever seen Hines Ward perform was "the riverdance" versus Cincinnati this weekend when Pit was beating the Bengals.Dear Hines,Either get some original schtick or stop swinging from other players ideas about celebrating in the endzone. In my opinion, you look like someone who is reveling in rubbing someone elses nose what you have just done, while the other players are trying to put on a show. In addition, you have no rhythm or finesse in your "dance skillz", you way want to consider some lessons.glll peas,JAA

Dear Hines,

If you don't like the way Ward celebrates his TDs, then strap on the pads and helmet and try to keep him out of the endzone. But beware on the running plays. For us Steeler fans Ward is putting on an awesome show. I love most of TOs endzone celebrations, but that waiter gimmick was so so gaye.

JAA did not say this and I don't think JAA will lose any sleep if Hines Ward continues to look like a dork.

Yes he did and I will not lose any sleep over JAA not appreciating Ward's dancing talent.

All I said is that Hiney Ward is not original .... well, and that I am a better dancer than him

If teams want Ward to stop with these celebrations, it's pretty simple.1) Tell your receivers to stop with the ridiculous "look at me" celebrations they so carefully choreograph before the game.and/or2) Keep Ward out of the end zone.

So Ward didn't look like a complete spaz?

Stupid threadI love when Ward mocks the idiotic dancing celebrations. Chad Johnson looks like a fruit half the time he celebrates, and with a tough guy like Ward, that probably doesnt sit too well.

uh, hmm, i believe that is called MOCKING the other team. When mocking someone, you are actually not trying to be original. Why does this bother you so much?

Let's see--which WR keeps a list of defensive backs and checks off whether or not he was able to beat them and then makes sure the televison cameras get to see it? Who shoots his mouth off every chance he gets about how superior he is? And you get upset when Ward rubs HIS nose in it? Sorry, if they can't take the heat, they shouldn't try to live in the kitchen. He who rubs last rubs best.

Yeah, he did look a little like Chad, didn't he?

When did the conversation turn to masturbation?

If you don't think Hines Ward looks like a dork, the correct response to this thread is,

"Hines Ward looks so cool when he does the Riverdance. I cannot wait for him to do his 'Marylin Monroe standing over an underground airvent' dance."
Pointing the finger at other players does not excuse Hines Ward from looking like a dork.

From today's Pittsburgh Post Gazette:

"Chad and I are good friends, T.O. and I are good friends," Ward said. "I just like to tease those guys. After the game, [Johnson] said, 'Man you need to work on that a little bit, I'll help you out.'"He's a tremendous wide receiver, one of the guys I watch and really respect as a wideout," Ward said. "I was just joking, having fun with him."Johnson got a good chuckle out of it. "We talked about it after the game. That was hilarious. ... He did it horribly wrong."
JAA maybe you need to lighten up a little...

I suppose he always could just rent a boat instead.
Considering his lack of a originality, there is a good possibility of this happening.

Blue Onion you seem to be having trouble understanding that what Ward is doing is a parody. Criticizing him for lack of originality would be like criticizing the movie Young Frankenstein for ripping off the original Frankenstein movies.

Looked to me like he was sticking it to Chad. Didn't look like a spaz to me at all.

Maybe I don't understand what Ward is doing. I thought he was doing whatever other people do. Since the Vikings rented a boat, I was merely assuming Ward would rent a boat too.

I think that it is safe to say that Ward was simply MOcking Chad Johnson And that was hardly as bad as TO and that stipid towl, tray, waiter celebration.

That had to be the most redonkulious think that I have ever seen for a TD celebration!

If they woulda counted that TD Chad had (which was a TD), he was going to pat down the ref, that woulda been so sweet.

don't you think the endzone celebrations are getting a little like the dunk contest in the NBA, nothing new left to do.just hand the ball to the ref, that might be the most original thing left!

What I hate about it is the double standard. If TO, Moss, or Chad Johnson do a touchdown celebration, they are a jerk. But, as per the announcers during the Pitt game yesterday, "working man" Hines Ward does all this extracurricular nonsense in the end zone and "he's just having fun" and "he is just here to play football.":rolleyes:gag me.

Another quality post by Mr. Otis. You can trash touchdown celebrations or you can embrace them. But please don't do both dependent on the uniform the player is wearing.

Never said I didn't like them. I have no problem at all with TD celebrations -- they're just having fun. And so was Ward when he was mocking them. I think it is funny how no one here is complaining that Kennan McCardell did the TO waiter thing when he caught his TD yesterday. Maybe they just don't like the players wearing Steelers uniforms.

LOFL at the haters. Steelers come out and lower the damn wrecking ball on Cincinatti and this is the best you guys can come up with? Keep it up.

I neither like the Steelers or Hines Ward but I have no problem with Ward's celebration. I have much more of a problem with Chad Johnson celebrating a Non TD. What a tool.If those guys are going to do idiot celebrations, then that totally opens the door for Ward to mock them. I support it.

1. You need 2 feet in and he only had one2. If he would of touched the ref I believe he would of been tossed

Why was it a TD? because CJ's end zone celebrations are soooooo keen that he only needs to get one foot in, as per the college rules, for a catch to be ruled a TD?Oh, and by the way, the fact that it wasn't a score didn't stop him from doing his end zone celebration when the ref signaled touchdown. He didn't pat down the ref; he did some unbelievably GAY flamenco dance routine. Even my brother, who is a diehard Bengals fan, hung his head when Johnson performed it and said...

"Dude... I usually like Johnson's celebrations, but THAT was fruity."

:own3d:

Intentionally fruity is Funny (Johnson)Unintentionally fruity is just kind of embarassing. (Ward)

PS Could care less about Cinncy or Pittsburg. Ward's display was lame. The worst part was he just kept going to way past the point of discomfot. I was like "OK Hines, everyone gets it. Come on buddy. Aw geez Hines knock it off." He was out there like 40 seconds in full grand mal seizure mode.

It was actually about 5 seconds, but far be it from me to spoil your hyperbole.

Oh, but TO's Ray Lewis dance was ok?Ward's getting into the end zone and poking fun at those who get in there and are selfish enough to think there aren't 10 other guys out there that made the TD happen. You don't want imitation TD celebrations, then keep your idol from doing them in the first place and do what the best players do/did...hand the ball to the ref or spike it and get over to your team to celebrate.

Personally, I prefer to focus on the football aspect of it. It's head games. What guys like Johnson and Owens do is try to get into the CBs heads. What Ward does is to try and rattle these WRs and get into their heads. I don't focus too much on whether the dancing is good or not.For those of you who continually insist on discussing the quality of Ward's dancing, may I suggest www.dancingguys.com? They must have a pretty cool forum where you can talk about that kind of stuff.

 I'm failing to see the sweetness.
Like how fans were patted down before the game? I thought that would be pretty funny.
I guess they must have skipped that and had all the fans dance the Lambada on their way into the stadium instead, since that's what Johnson did on his non-touchdown.

lol @ saying he looks like a dork when what he is doing is trying to show everyone what a dork these other guys look like when they do this crap and then lose...
