So he can control the volume of his voice. You know how deaf people talk really loud because they can't hear themselves? Same concept.Schtick free here, why does he need to hear himself? I would think he only needs to hear his friends talk.
Here is one for you Grove. You people all kind of suck. There are plenty of gaming headphones that feed your own voice back into your headset so that you can hear yourself. Give me a few moments and I'll link you some.
I'm not understanding at all. When I play I don't need to hear my own voice. Just my friends and the games. So he can control the volume of his voice. You know how deaf people talk really loud because they can't hear themselves? Same concept.
I bet you are screaming and don't know it. Take off your head set now and ask your mom if you are yelling.I'm not understanding at all. When I play I don't need to hear my own voice. Just my friends and the games.
I only have a headset for voice. Maybe that's the problem. I listen to the sound through the tv.I bet you are screaming and don't know it. Take off your head set now and ask your mom if you are yelling.
All shtick aside, ill order one now. Thanks! From my quick research, I read that all Turtle Beach, all Logitech and all Astro headsets have what's called "mic monitoring" which will allow you to hear yourself in your own headset.
I have a Turtle Beach headset does my PS4 that has it and it works really well.

Can I get a noise gate on amazon? Tia.Ok, the easy method- hook up the power supply through a noise gate so when he crosses a set decibel threshold the power to the system and tv turn off, easy peasy!
He probably can't hear you.I've got the same issue with my 10 year old. I like to sneak in the room, get real close to the back of his head, and scream, "HOW'S THE GAME GOING!!! HAVING FUN!?!?!?!".
Tell him to pull one of the ear pads away from an ear. Then he can hear his friends in one ear and still hears himself, and you #####ing at him, in the other ear.
You could get him one of these headsets with only one ear. That way he is forced to hear how he is talking.I have actually tried four different ones. The ears are so tight, you can't hear your own voice. So you have no idea how loud you are talking. Like deaf people who talk loud and don't know it.

Remove the XBox. HTHPIK95 said:We have a huge problem at our house. Whenever my son plays XBox or PS4 with his friends, he has to talk really loud into his mic just to hear himself. Is there a head set or some software that will help put a stop to this? I can't take it anymore!
I've been laughing out loud at a coffee bar for the last minute on this one. People probably assume I'm highBucky86 said:Dude. When there's ####### noobs doing stupid #### you gotta let them ####### know how its done!!! JESUS ####### christ!!!!!!
And why are they always touching all the candy???I'm still trying to find all these yelling deaf people. I'd like to ask them why they talk so loud when they won't be able to hear themselves no matter how loud they yell. You know, since they are deaf and all.
I can’t say for sure, but I think the problem was solved two years ago.Create a "lunk" alarm like the one at Planet Fitness. Except this one, when a certain decibel level is reached, it shuts the Xbox down.
Problem solved.
He could be working toward that male cheerleading scholarship. Let him be.My 14 yo son randomly yells “let’s go!”
I have no idea how his friends still have any ability to hear at this point.
None of them can hear, that's why they all yell.My 14 yo son randomly yells “let’s go!”

Fantastic bump @momof4inVA and great first post. PM Shuke, etc.I sympathize with you and totally understand. My son is the same way and it is so hard to work from home when he's screaming. I just ordered headphones with just one ear and I hope that helps.
Same. It's more of a "lesssssgoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" but yes. Highly annoying. My 14 yo son randomly yells “let’s go!”
I have no idea how his friends still have any ability to hear at this point.
Yes. I had this issue. Resolved it with open back headphones. He can hear himself now. Didn't need to adjust mic volumeThey ignored the question. Its a headset issue. Nobody else has this problem.
