Listened to the Yankees broadcast for the first time in probably 40+ years on Sirius. Quite possibly the worst broadcast crew I've ever heard in my life.  :yucky: . I miss Scooter

Last guy to hit a postseason go ahead HR vs the Yankees in the 8th or later was...Mazeroski?!  🤯

Nice job Rays.

Now go beat the cheaters.
What a crazy game. Happy for the Rays, but hate the Astros and think they’re the better team in this series.  Hope they prove me wrong.

Brosseau takes Chapman deep after getting thrown at earlier in the year.

Voit goes 0fer after guaranteeing a win.

Fitting stuff. Suck it, Yankees.

Loved watching the game last night.  Without fans you could hear the Rays plays hooting on Cole in the first inning when he was wild.... was good entertainment.

that was a game that really missed a capacity crowd. the tension was high and it was a great game, but despite the hyperbolic announcer saying it was one of the best games he'd ever seen, it missed the distinct feel of playoff a great baseball elimination game going down to the wire. very 2020 for a classic elimination game to still have that 'yeah, but...' feeling.

fantastic game to cap really fun series though.

Have to think Boone will get fired this off season. Tons of talent and money spent and not getting it done.

Who will the Yankees target as their next manager?

Really? I thought he was pretty well-regarded.
Said this after the game 2 shenanigans: Boone carries out the wishes of Cashman and management. He would only get fired if he had the audacity to leave Garcia in after that first inning.

I did a little research after my comment.  From the Yankess boards it seems the post above might have some merit.  Rumors in NY are Cashman likes to be involved in decisions regarding lineups and Boone is OK with that.  So if that is the case he is very safe.

Isnt that the Rangers new park?  If so, that place looks awful.
Completely awful. Wish this was in a traditional park like Dodger Stadium or Wrigley. Understand they don’t want to do that bc it would give an unfair advantage and the Rangers were eliminated after like 5 games, but still.

Braves had a great lineup all season but it’s not full of good situational hitters.  And Snitker doesn’t play small ball.  He’s had chances to bunt - probably come back to haunt him.

I agree, but I think the retractable roof was probably a selling point too. Eliminates the risk of rain delays and postponements.

I think there’s not many teams that would ask their cleanup hitter to bunt so I’m willing to cut him some slack but there’s been at least 2-3 chances to bunt this game and he never seems to even consider it.
That’s pretty much all of MLB now though. Nobody bunts anymore. I just struggle to believe that analytics say that NEVER bunting is the way to go.

That and the huge positional shifts.  I would expect any major leaguer to be able to bunt well enough to take that free base but there’s a reason they don’t so we are probably the old dinosaurs.

There’s never a must win game one of a seven game series but this was close to it for Atlanta.  Despite how good Anderson has been the Dodgers will be huge favorites the next 2 games with Atlanta throwing rookies.

They had assurance they could sell up to 25k tickets if covid broke right. Will have 18k I think next week.  Plus retractable roof.

I can’t imagine a neutral wanting anything other than a Braves v Rays World Series.
Braves fan from childhood, thanks to TBS.  So they are my #1.

Close 2nd is LAD sweeping Houston with Kershaw getting 2 complete games and Bregman/Altuve/Et Al going ofer.  I'd savor every moment of that...

Don’t feel like posting this in the baseball - why after the Altuve error we’re all 3 runs considered unearned?  I’m sure it’s always been this way but I would think on any HR, that at least the batter should be considered earned.  Or is any run scored after that unearned?  That just seems dumb to me.

I think if it would have ended the inning everything after is unearned.
