How do YOU listen to the Audible? (1 Viewer)

I download the mp3 and listen at home or work via Real Player.

Love the IDP stuff, can't get enough

I believe it was the Bengals interview where I hear someone lighting their cigarette a couple of times!!
I thought that was Cecil doing the show from the barber's chair while getting a haircut.I download from iTunes and listen on my iPod shuffle while jogging in the morning. Rarely miss an episode. My only complaint is that the "BABY!" after "Oklahoma State Cowboys" isn't enthusiastic enough. Please correct that.
:yes:I will work on that "BABY!" for you Doug.In this picture I contemplate what kind of gel to use in my hair. ;) haircut.JPG

Hey Mex. I was one of those that panned your first couple of shows. That major "PA" was killing me. I have to say that you have come around and the show is awesome now. Things I like:1) How you and Bloom do not always agree on a subject or player. Makes for a great segment.2) How many shows you guys are putting out. Good quality stuff several times a week. Trust me, we know how tough that job is and we appreciate it.3) The depth. Not only are you covering everything out there, but you go into such depth that we are not missing anything about it. 4) Music intro is great. Don't change a thing.Room for improvements. 1) Bugs ending. If the only thing we can complain about it the ending, that should tell you a lot. Answer to your questions:I listen through ITunes on my Treo using PocketTunes. I manually move over all of my pods onto my phone and sd card and listen going to and from work. Keep up the GREAT work. Dave.
Dave-thanks as always for your feedback, although I thought the early episodes were perfect - especially my commercial about the FFA "if you're an absolute freak of nature - then head on over to the Free For All!" x2I appreciate you listening!

How...MP3 player downloaded off of Itunes

Where...in my car, I travel a lot. I was going to buy satellite radio but your podcast and others saved me $$

First...Great job...best sports talk show there! The only show I listen to that I actually learn something new from. You inform and entertain, most shows just entertain if you are lucky.

Small criticizisms or suggestions, some times when you speak to people on the phone their voices are kinda muffled (especially if they have a low voice) but it is most likely their phones not you....

Music...please no rap, I just find it sooo annoying. I have seen requests for old metal...how about some punk like the Clash? But anything but country and rap and I am happy.

again...great job guys!!
Thank you very much for the compliment, and thanks for listening!Who doesn't love The Clash?!? I'm ashamed I haven't used London Calling for an intro yet.

I download from Itunes and listen on my ipod while I'm working around the house, which is usually a couple of hours a week...Keep doing what you're doing; the Lammey/Bloom chemistry is great and you guys are the next Hope and Crosby. You're not going to please everyone with the song intros anyway, so you might as well please yourself. People would still keep listing to them even if you played Clay Aiken in the intros. Love that you are talking to all the beat writers. Great information being shared out there. This is a corny suggestion, but it would it be fun if you could get Frank Caliendo to do an Audible. He would be a good fit for you guys and I know you guys like to inject humor into your broadcasts.BTW- Great sig, Cecil
Hac-Thanks for listening, and thanks for the quality sig material - be sure to listen for our interview with Kevin Lynch from the SF Chronicle on the state of the 49ers! ;) (interview booked on Thu)

I listem via I tunes on my laptop as I workI just bought an INsignina MP3 player .... probably a stupid question but what vehicle do you use to transfer from I Tunes to your player? Thanks
I'm not familiar with that mp3 player, but it should have some software that you could open up and drag and drop from your Itunes folder on your computer. Thanks for listening!

iPod at work. I don't miss an episode (except for the few that iTunes won't put on my iPod for no reason I can determine).

Kill the Bugs Bunny bit at the end, please.

Intro music: just more Yanni and Enya - you've had a lot of it, but I always crave more.
I use windows player at work and listen while I'm on the computer. Great stuff!
Thanks for listening! Pete Daugherty (GB Press Gazette) interview scheduled for later in the week!

I listen on my iPod in the car - better than listening to Colin Cowturd or Dan Patrick. A vote for adding Bad Religion to the bumper music. The lengthy interviews of the beat writers is great - so much more information comes out in that setting in my opinion. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for listening! Bad Religion moves to the top of the charts!

I couldn't agree with Dave more. The Bugs ending is the only thing I could complain about too.The show is brilliant. The personalities of the FBG staff you have on the show works really well and makes for good entertainment. The fact that your getting quality guests in for interviews is fantastic. The depth of your analysis is second to none, I don't know where I would be without it.As for some music for the intros.....how about some Dandy Warhols, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club & Beastie BoysI usually listen to the show while I'm working, either on my mp3 player or having the mp3 saved on my usb drive and listen to it on my work laptop. Sometimes I even will burn a few episodes to a cd and listen to them in the car
Thanks for listening! Beastie Boys!!!! SABOTAGE!

Ipod - On my way to work. I like the music intros.. more classic rock (Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi, Doors etc.. and more Johnny Cash). Geaux Tigers!
Thanks for listening! Consider it done, my Bayou Bengals Brother! (LSU my favorite college team)

Frankly, I don't listen to the audible. Yes, I'm a dinosaur... I dont own an Ipod, MP3, etc. I'd like to listen to it, but I'm not inclined to register, sign up, or buy an Ipod either. Make it easier to hear on line, I'll be in the audience. Until then....
Rovers-check out the show! Just click on any link for the show here:

http://subscribers.footballguys.com/podcast/

And a window will open for you to open or save. Click open to hear the show through whatever media player is on your computer.

And if you'd just like to hear it without downloading it, just go here:

http://digg.com/podcasts/Footballguys_com_...or_Serious_Fans

click on listen and it plays for you right there without opening a media player.

Digg is great, but a day or so behind our release schedule. All shows are released to the website with a direct link.

Let me know what you think!

I listen via iTunes at work.

A few nits to pick: Sound quality still leaves a lot to be desired. And work on transitions with the music; it often seems pretty abrupt as you drop the music out. One huge pet peeve: Stop saying "we'll be right back" at the end, then not coming back after the commercial to at least close up the episode.

Maybe slip in a few "BradyFan" renditions of songs when covering related teams. Not as an intro (since they're some pretty wimpy songs) but maybe edit a few of the choice lines as a break in the middle of a news and notes piece. Give the guy some well-deserved cross promotion.

I love the show. I listen to it going to work on the "T" in Boston and I listen to it at the gym. It's always on an Ipod.

It would be nice to have a cleaner sounding program but there is only so much you can do with phone quality.

Thanks for the hard work!

I've heard you mention that a few times on The Audible. How did LSU become your favorite team? I didn't think the Tigers had much of a following in CO.

I noticed Journey playing faintly during a segment that I listened to today... I almost vomited. It was distracting.

Love the show and listen to it whenever i can-

Could you however possibly work on the sometimes major fluctuations in volume- some of the phone callers are so low and then you and Sigmund drop in and its killing my ears-

Also could you guys get us a little more on the O-line and D-line situations- It all begins up front and yet some how the conversations get shifted to guys like johhny Lee Higgins and Garrett Wolfe- which is nice in itself but I would like to hear more about the guys in the trenches-

the interview with the Seattle guy is a great example of what would be great- that was awesome how yall went into how many rotations they had and how that affected their play and that of Alexander-

Can you possibly give us a brief rundown of what interviews are on tap

and possibly one show where you guys breakdown some boom/bust/sleeper picks with some reference to auction values as well

Thanks though for the shows and keep them coming

thanks for listening!I've actually bumped in with Randy - will use their music more often!

We have upgraded sound equipment, so the episodes should be more crisp to listen to. Cell phones from beat writers still present a problem, but I manually upgrade the sound as much as possible when a cell phone is bad.

Not a big following for LSU here in Denver, but I jumped on the bandwagon back in the day when Dalton Hilliard played there. Loved that guy with the Saints as well. Harvey WilliamsRondell MealeyKevin FaulkCecil Collins :blackdot:Domanick DavisJoe AddaiAll some of my favorite LSU players! Saw Collins run over Auburn on the night of my wedding (wife was mad because I was watching football instead of getting ready!)

I am hard limiting the volume on the shows which should make them sound cleaner. It also evens out the volume, no matter how low or how loud. :blackdot:The battle begins in the trenches, we'll expand on that! The interview schedule is up to the beat writers and our tv schedule...Auction show is :blackdot:

Ohh yeah and please please drop the man crush on LenDale White-
And as always, Thanks for listening!I was talking to my best friend about this White thing the other day. He thinks I am too hard on myself, but the way I feel is that if I do a COMPLETE 180 on LenDale then it would look bad.I am already a biased homer when it comes to White. I am VERY cautious about his prospects now, but I have not given up on him. You win some (Willie Parker), you lose some (Troy Davis) but the main point is that you stick to your guns. :blackdot:

If you ever want to come to Baton Rouge for a Saturday night in Death Valley, let me know and I'll get you a ticket.Dalton Hillard was awesome! The Dalton - James gang (Dalton Hillard and Gary James) was probably the best RB tandem LSU ever had.

Ipod - On my way to work. I like the music intros.. more classic rock (Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi, Doors etc.. and more Johnny Cash). Geaux Tigers!

Cecil,

Love the show! I listen on an ipod with a direct connect to my car stereo to and from work. I have to ditto the complaints/suggestions about the differential in volume levels between speakers. I think it would be cool to have some of the more popular articles like David Dodds' Perfect Draft or Joe Bryant's VBD Revisited discussed or just recorded for us to listen to. Last year I remember thinking the Roundtable articles would be great to listen to.

Keep up the good work brother. I look forward to each and every broadcast.

Peace,

Jeff

Cecil,

Been listening since the first episode.

I use the RSS feed into my RSS reader, Feed Demon.

I then transfer them (along with my other 50 podcasts a week) to my Creative Zen MP3 player and I listen at work. I will never own an iPod.

Keep up the good work!

Cecil,

I'm the other guy who downloads from DIGG when at work.

I use JUICE to cache the mp3 podcast from home. I transfer them to a cheap $50 Samsung mp3 player and listen in the truck on commute and at work when possible.

Keep up the great work! I can't imagine all the time you must put in (and with little kids too). You and Bloom do a great job, much appreciated.

I agree with the others who like the music intro (more AC/DC, Ramones...) and have been listening since the first crappy (almost unbarable) sound quality. I forced myself to listen cuz I didn't want to miss out on your great content.

I don't mind the bugs bunny but you gotta lose the Lendale White man crush. Go six man football!

I download the podcast through iTunes and then transfer it to a 2GB SD card that I take to work with a week's worth of music.

If I don't get a chance to listen at work, I just fire it up on WinAmp while browsing the FBG message board and shoot for the information OVERLOAD.....

Keep up the great work.

Thanks for listening Jeff! All those are good ideas, and I have a special announcement...

JOE BRYANT will be making his first appearance on the Audible tomorrow!

Greetings from Serbia

Cecil I have to say that those shows absolutely rocks. It's really useful when you can listen to great fantasy informations via iPod instead of staring at computer monitor for hours. I usually listen Audibles on my way to college.

Regarding the music in show, "Master of Puppets" was awesome

And BTW please, avoid that 7 days without a Audible break.
