I would take Towns, then a toss up between Curry, Davis, and Kawhi. If Cousins could get his head on straight he would be in the discussion.

Hey man, there's only so many choices, lol.
I think a lot of the respondents, including me, answered the question from the perspective of a freshly hired GM on Year 1 of a 4-5 year plan.  A lot of the poll options were better suited for the "win this season or you're fired" perspective.  Both are interesting questions.

Kawhi.. best perimeter defender in a perimeter game, top 3 point shooting % in a perimeter game, post up/drive/athletic ability to score, has the attitude to go with the game (team), has the guts in big situations, will match great with and would be happy to defer to whatever star you pair him with.

I would take Davis, but would have no arguments with someone who took Leonard, Curry, Towns, or Lydon.

Wiggins is in the conversation as far as I'm concerned.  Today's rules don't favor the bigs like Towns and Davis to truly dominate like the wing players can.

Wiggins should have been an option. :kicksrock:
Wiggins is OK, but I've watched my share of Wolves games and I cant see how anyone would pick him over Towns. Either way, for the first time...probably ever, MN is a job a head coach wants.

He hasn't proven enough to me to be in this conversation right now.

Curry is super tempting, although Leonard is probably the best answer.
Long term, I agree.

lol @ James Harden and Carmelo Anthony.  Really?
James Harden defense does not exist.

It's not just the lack of defense for Harden....look at his turnovers!  374 turnovers this year.  32 more than Westbrook but Westbrook comes with over 200 more assists.  And I honestly wouldn't want to watch a team where my best player made his hey at the FT line.  Not exactly thrilling basketball.

gianis anteaternintendo should not win this but he should be on the list to vote for that is all i am saying throw milwaukee a little sunshine bromigo take that to the bank

Went with Anthony Davis.  Terrific player, better human being.  Family friend stayed with Monty Williams and his family after his wife was killed in a car crash.  There was a constant stream of NBA players, coaches, GMs, owners, etc coming in and out.  She said Davis was one of the most sincere, humble and kind individuals she's ever met.  The player whose name rhymes with Muscle Hestbook, on the other hand....giant penis.

Not that he HAS a giant penis, though I'm sure it's robust.  He just IS a penis.

From my phone, at work, in no particular order trade value top 10:

Curry, Lebron, Towns, Davis, Durant, Westbrook, Leonard, Pekovic, George, Lillard.

Just missed: Wall, Harden.

Towns is a beast no question, but Wiggins has the higher ceiling IMHO.  He has MJ/Kobe type ceiling.

The biggest question with Wiggins is desire.  As we all know that's what helped separate Kobe and MJ.
