 Oh you have to know what's coming here.  

Consumer Cellular flip phone.  No texting plan.  Has a camera he refuses to use - and proudly proclaims that he has never sent a damn text and never will.  

Side note:  First night here he spent all evening telling us that they don't have wifi and don't bother trying to connect to it.  He said that the lady from Time Warner told him that if he wasn't using it, she could disconnect it for him for a $5/mo. savings so he did that.  

Meanwhile he has Netflix that we bought him (Father's Day present each year - $120 - twice as much as the other grandparents ...).  And of course, the Netflix is downstairs from the modem/wifi and connected by wifi.  We just connected and moved on.  I asked him how he thought the Netflix worked and he said, "Its just part of the package!" like I'm the idiot.

I was tired at that point and didn't ask what he meant by that.  

So awesome.   Thanks for this.   Made my day.

I am messing around here - and yeah, getting old is tough.  This guy has been a tough old bird for years.  I admire how well he did in life - but fact is ...he has always been a fairly large **** to me.  MIL is a sweetheart though she has her own issues.  

Had to move the family to a hotel one year we were visiting at Christmas.  ####### guy locked me out of his house because he felt I was out too late.  Three - four feet of snow ...2am - makes me have to knock on the door (softly then louder ...) to let me in.  Then he has the nerve to get all up in my face yelling that I woke him up.

Is he the kind of guy who picks up pennies when he sees them on the ground?  If so, put a penny on the floor in the middle of the living room every time he leaves the room.  Escalate over the time that you're there - a penny in the middle of every room, a penny on his dresser, a penny inside the receiver of the phone, a penny on his dashboard.

Our common ground is our love for his daughter, but I took her away.  So there's that.

Guy doesn't like sports, lives for bad PBS detective series and goes to bed at 10pm.  We will never have anything in common except for our hatred of Hillary, but I can't join him in his love for Trump.  I'd rather have him stab me to death with a rusty spoon that get him going on politics or healthcare.

He has had go-arounds with both girls and son (BIL).  He's their dad so they love him, and make excuses for him.  I would say he is not so much hateful as just incredibly self-centered.  

The BIL is a good dude.  He moved down to Nashville, TN and has been there for a number of years.  Not really to get away, just where his job took him.  

I pretty much told him to go #### himself years ago with the locking me out of the house incident.

Don't have our handy, but this is close.  This calls for green onions and has no fresh mushrooms.  

You got to have sauted onions and mushrooms in it as well.  Like a lot of stuff with tomatoes - it tastes even better warmed up the next day.

Update:  Heard the same story for the 4th time in 3 days.  He was stationed in Korea just after the cease-fire and had the job of taking the guys from the brig out for work detail.  He fed the starving children with the lunch leftovers and cured one little girl of impetigo ...or scabies, or something like that - "I cured her with iodine, and I'm not even a doctor!"

Terrorist Safety Tip #2:  After providing the same warning about not heading for the exits if terrorists hit the mall while you are in it, he went on to say not to use your phone because they will be monitoring them and will use the GPS to pinpoint you.

Update:

Last night here.  Nothing good to report.  Really looking forward to getting back home.  

MIL is a good cook, but tonight's dinner was incredibly bad.  The dryest, toughest, stringiest beef roast I have ever had.  Potatoes and carrots were also way undercooked.  

We went to Handel's ice cream for dessert at least.
